Asher
“I just forwarded the email to you, Sir.” Linda let out as she followed closely behind me.
“Okay, Linda. I’ll check it out. Make sure you follow up with those guys. We can’t lose them to another company,” I said sternly while I pushed open the door to the office and went in. She nodded and went to her office too.
I shut the door and then heaved a sigh of relief. I’ve been in and out of meetings since I walked in this morning and I barely have time for myself or my woman.
I know Camila would be boiling with anger already, and I’d have to make it up to her.
Crashing into my chair, I dialed her number and she picked up the first ring, but she didn’t say anything. She does that when she’s mad at me and, weird as it seems, I love it about her. It makes her look like my baby, one that I love so much.
“Heyy honey, I know you’re so mad at me right now and trust me, I have no excuse. I could say I was so busy with meetings and haven’t even had breakfast, but is it really enough reason to abandon the love of my life? Never!!” I retorted, but it was still the same silence over the phone.
“Okay, what can I do to make it up to you? Anything at all, just name it!” I added, and finally, she bulged.
“Not like you can get away with what you did, but since you’re insisting, I’ll send you a picture of what I want. And I want it here in an hour and personally delivered by you.” I cracked up with laughter when she said the last part and she did too.
“Sent.” She affirmed just as I got a beep and then checked.
“Received. I’ll be right there soon,” I replied, and then hung up.
I checked the picture again, and it was that of a dress with a matching purse and shoes. All designers, of course.” I smiled again and then immediately rose to my feet.
I grabbed my things and then made for the door. I signaled at Linda, and she already knew that was it for the day.
I hopped into the car and drove straight to a fast food first. I have not had anything since morning and I didn’t want to stress Camila about that when I get to her place. Getting food for us was a better option. I got us dinner and then got her some extra for the next day.
I got back in the car and then drove off to the clothing store. It’s a high-end clothing store and one of the biggest ones in the city. It’s the go-to place for all kinds of designer stuff.
The moment I walked in, one of the sales personnel quickly rushed over. It wasn’t my first time there, and they know how generous I get with the tips, so they basically fight to attend to me. I can’t even count the times I’ve been here to get things for Camila and the few times she came with me, she always had issues with the way the girls fight themselves over me. She’s such a jealous woman and I can’t even complain because I love her so much.
“Welcome Sir, how may we be of help to you today?” The lady said with a big smile, which I returned too.
“Thank you, I actually came for this,” I said, then showing her the picture on my phone.
“Do you have these in stock?” I quizzed while she took the phone and stared at the picture for a hot second before returning the phone.
"Of course, we do, and the beautiful part is that they’re part of our new arrivals. Big money but top quality. The best quality even,” she let out.
“Come with me, Sir, so I can show you.” She chimed in and then led the way into a separate aisle. Before we got there, she had already shown a dozen other outfits to me, and I was quite impressed with her marketing skills. She sold them so well that I bought about four of the outfits. She was that good.
“Finally,” she let out as she pulled out a rack and the dress was sitting pretty on it.
The moment I saw the dress, I just knew my woman had good eyes.
“My God, that dress is going to look so good on her…” I let out and didn’t even know I was thinning out loud until I saw her expression.
“Of course, we only give the best here. If you want to know how nice it looks, take her on a date tonight. You’d be shocked at the beauty on your arm,” She retorted, and I just couldn’t help but laugh.
“You know what? I like you. You’re so good at this sales of a thing,” I let out while she blushed.
“Thank you sir. I actually studied business and marketing in college and I majored in sales for the most part of it. I graduated top of my class too, so I’m not surprised that I’m good at this. A lot of people say that every time, and I’m always thankful to them. Thank you again, sir.” She explained, and that just pushed an impulsive thought into my head.
“Here, this is my card. Find your way to the office tomorrow morning and I might just have a better job offer for you.” I blurted, then handed her my card.
She was too shocked to even utter a word, and she didn’t even need to. Her expression had enough words.
I was about to tell her to pack the things up when I looked up and saw a familiar face ahead of me.
The woman looked so much like Ruby but seeing how she was intimate with another man, I just knew it wasn’t her. My wife wouldn’t dare disrespect me like that in public.
I thought about leaving at first, but I just couldn’t shake off the feeling, so I moved closer to confirm my suspicions.
The closer I moved, the more clearly I saw. It was indeed my wife frolicking with any other man.
The fool was literally smitten by her, and they looked like they were going to share a deep kiss anytime soon.
I couldn’t let that happen, so I rushed towards them and yanked Ruby from him just in time.
“What the h…” it was the man yelling, but he stopped the moment he opened his eyes and saw me.
“What are you doing here, Asher?” Ruby let out and I looked at her with disgust.
“You must be out of your mind to ask me that stupid question? What the hell are you doing here, letting another man touch you so inappropriately?” I yelled at her.
She lost her voice immediately and couldn’t say a word, but then the stupid fool thought it was time to be a knight in shining armor.
“She didn’t do anything wrong, we’re only…”
“Don’t you ever try that again. There’s nowhere in the world where you’re allowed to talk to me. And whatever happened here today had better not happen again. This is my wife and no one is allowed to go near her. You won’t like the consequences if you try it again,” I said fiercely, and before he could even say a word, I grabbed Ruby and pulled her out of there.
“Sir, your orders…” the sales assistant let out, but I wasn’t even in the mood for any of that anymore.
“Not now please!” I blurted out without stopping.
I pushed Ruby into the car and then hurried to my side too before zooming off.
She still didn’t say anything and just sat quietly in there while staring blankly out the window. Somehow, that made me more upset as I wanted her to react so I could deal with her even more.
She seemed to know what was going on in my mind and wouldn’t do sh*t. I was going to stir something up in her, so I turned to her briefly and that was when I finally saw her.
I was blinded with anger all along and I didn’t see how beautiful she looked with her makeup, hair and her dress? It was fire.
She looked so breathtaking and for a second there, I was actually smitten. I tried to quickly shake it off then and that was when my eyes caught her thighs. The slit had pulled up and now leaving little or nothing to the imagination.
I quickly looked away, but I was soon back staring at the sexy legs. I just couldn’t tear my eyes off of them and I soon found myself feasting hungrily on them. Ruby really got me this time, but the annoying part was that she didn’t even notice the whole time.
She has always fought for my attention and now that I’m giving it willingly, she pretends like it’s nothing?
If that’s not taking me for granted, tell me what it is…

Ruby I woke up just as Asher was walking out the door. He looked at me for just a split second before he turned around.“Heyyy, good morning…” “Don’t wait up for me, I’ve got plans.” He cut in sharply before I could even finish. I wasn’t even moved one bit, it was slowly becoming our norm anyway. I just let out a long stretch and then managed to get out of bed.I went straight into the bathroom and, for a minute, I just stood there and got cozy in Asher’s scent, which filled the whole place.I really don’t want to feel this way, but I can’t help it. The more I try to move past it, the deeper I fall into the hole. After getting enough of him, I freshened up and it was so refreshing. After crying myself into a terrible headache last night, I had to go downstairs and take painkillers. That was when I was able to get into bed and sleep. All the while, Asher didn’t flinch, he was just enjoying his sleep and snoring the night away.I stepped out of the bathroom and made my way to the dre
Ruby Asher’s words weren’t as painful as the look on his face as he walked out on me. It was pure disgust on his face and I couldn’t get over that. This man called my husband really hates me and maybe Camila was right after all. I am here chasing after shadows in the name of love. He’s never going to love me, and maybe I’m going to waste the rest of my meaningful years hoping for something that will never come. Asher stayed in the bathroom for a long time and all the while, I was on the bed, thinking about all he said and even the ones he didn’t say. When he was finally done, and I heard his footsteps approaching, I quickly got into bed and pretended I was already sleeping.I felt as his weight pulled into the bed and that only made it worse. The fact that I was sleeping next to a man who hates me so much and only comes home every night just so he could hurl words at me hurts really bad. I didn’t even know when tears started flowing down my face, but I tried to keep it as quiet
RubyGetting home, I went upstairs to freshen up, after which I sat with my phone and started scrolling through my social media feeds. There were several posts still floating around about our wedding and everyone seems to think that I was enjoying a fairytale honeymoon. It’s so funny how people wish to be other people online just because of pictures and videos. There were lots of ladies crushing on Asher and wishing they were in place. They envied the life I was living and that was just sad and funny because if only they knew what I was going through, if only they knew that I hadn’t enjoyed a second of my husband’s attention since we got married. The annoying part is that he even goes out with her public, well at least, he was wise enough to get a private booth. That way, people wouldn’t know he was flaunting his mistress. I let out a loud sigh as I scrolled down, but it only got worse. Everywhere was littered with all kinds of posts with several angles of our pictures, even ones t
RubyI froze for a long second and no matter how much I tried, I just couldn’t peel my eyes from Asher’s face. He was staring back at me too and I searched his eyes thoroughly for even a hint of remorse but found none. He just sat there and maintained eye contact with me for so long till I couldn’t bear it anymore. I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes already and I didn’t want to do that, at least not in front of him and his lover. And Ava, she wouldn’t take it lightly if she noticed, she’d create a scene and I didn’t want that.“Hey, I’ll be back in a minute, I need to use the restroom” I said and then quickly stood up before Ava could even reply. I vanished into the restroom and then locked myself in one of the stalls. The tears came flooding right then and I just stood against the door till I had nomore in me. I wiped my face clean and then went out to clean up but the moment I opened the door, it was Camilla standing there, waiting for me.“Well well well, if it isn’t th
RubyI sunk into the bed as I watched Asher walk out on me. He slammed the door really hard but I didn’t even blink. I guess my head was already getting used to this side of him… that side that treats me like I’m nothing but a placeholder in his life. I stayed there in bed for a long time, indulging myself in my spiraling thoughts. It was my phone that jerked me back to reality when it started ringing. I was even too lazy to roll over and answer it but the thought that it could be Asher calling gave me an instant rush of energy. I rolled over, grabbed the phone and saw Ava’s face lit up the screen. For a second there, I almost didn’t answer it because I knew Ava so well. It would take a lot of effort to hide my feelings from her else, she’d see through me in an instant.I cleared my throat and then sat up to prepare myself before I swiped the answer button. “Heyy new bridey…” she exclaimed immediately.“Heyy bestie.” I replied with a huge smile, trying to sound all good.“Uhmm… I l
