When Lucien opened his eyes and saw the unfamiliar surroundings, he was baffled and confused.

This should have been his afterlife.

But instead, he found himself in a strange room, everything white and unfamiliar.

He moved his head slightly and noticed a young boy sitting beside him, head lowered, asleep after crying.

Lucien tried to sit up, but a sharp pain shot through his hand. It was tied to a thin tube.

“Ah…” he hissed when the needle shifted painfully as he moved.

The boy stirred at the movement. His eyes snapped open, and when he saw Lucien awake, they filled with tears.

“Young Master, you finally woke up,” he cried.

He leaned closer, his voice trembling. “Master, I’m so glad you woke up. You scared all of us. How could you try to take your life? Why did you jump into the pool when you don’t even know how to swim?”

His whole body shook as he spoke.

Lucien stared at him, dazed.

When did I try to take my life? And what is a pool? Is it some kind of well or pond?

Before he could ask anything, the boy suddenly screamed.

“Blood? Oh my God, Master, you’re bleeding.”

When Lucien had tried to sit up earlier, the needle in his hand had shifted, and blood now dripped from it, staining the white sheets.

The boy panicked at the sight and quickly pressed a bell to call for help.

A nurse rushed in moments later. She froze in surprise when she saw Lucien awake. He had been in a coma for three months, and his case had been critical.

She immediately called for the doctors and moved closer to check on him.

Her expression changed when she saw the blood on the bed and floor.

She quickly stopped the bleeding and removed the tube from his hand. It had already caused swelling from the pressure he had put on it.

Lucien hissed softly as she pulled it out.

Soon, another nurse arrived with the head doctor. They were all visibly surprised. His earlier reports had been terrible. They had not expected him to wake up anytime soon.

His case had been complicated.

He had nearly drowned, yet he had no external injuries. For some reason, his body had not responded to treatment, and his condition had worsened until he fell into a coma.

They had never found the cause.

It had been a difficult and stressful case.

On top of that, he was a VIP patient, the Young Master of the Crossel family. They could not afford mistakes, yet they had no answers.

They quickly began examining him.

The doctor asked the nurse to check his temperature while he listened to Lucien’s pulse.

As they worked, Lucien watched them quietly.

Who are these people? Where am I?

When they finished, the doctor asked, “Mr. Crossel, do you feel any discomfort? Can you move your arms and legs?”

Lucien followed the instructions and nodded slightly. “I have a slight headache.”

The doctors exchanged looks and ordered further tests.

While they discussed among themselves, Lucien turned to the boy standing beside his bed.

“What place is this? Who am I? Why were you calling me Young Master? And who are you?”

He asked everything at once.

The boy froze, clearly shaken.

“Master… don’t you remember anything?” he asked, his voice filled with worry. “Why are you asking this? Please don’t scare me like this.”

The doctors immediately stepped in, asking Lucien several questions to test his memory.

Lucien frowned and held his head.

“I can’t remember anything,” he said. “And when I try, I feel a sharp pain.”

Hearing this, the boy quickly spoke.

“Master, let me tell you. Maybe you will remember something.”

The doctors nodded in agreement.

“You are the Young Master of the Crossel family, Lucien Crossel. You are married to Lyra Dallas, the CEO of Dallas Corporations. She is known as the most beautiful and youngest CEO in the country.”

Lucien blinked, confused.

Why is he talking about her beauty?

“I am David, your personal assistant,” the boy continued.

“You fell into a pool three months ago and almost drowned, but Young Mistress saved you and brought you to the hospital. You have been in a coma ever since. We were all very worried, but now you are finally awake.”

Lucien stared at him in silence.

What kind of situation is this?

He lowered his gaze to his hands.

They were pale and slightly swollen from the needles.

This body felt different.

His torso felt heavier.

His skin was not the same.

This body was well built, but his own skin had once been smooth and clear. His hair had been long and black.

Now everything felt unfamiliar.

Even the clothes he was wearing were strange.

A realization slowly settled in his mind.

Am I really in someone else’s body?

Did I really die?

His eyes widened slightly.

What kind of unbelievable situation is this?

When Laura’s handshake was brushed aside by Lyra, she quietly returned to her seat, masking the awkwardness with a careless expression. Seeing this, Grandfather chuckled and said, “Lucien, don’t mind this mischievous granddaughter of mine.” Lucien nodded with an awkward smile. At that moment, Lady Dallas invited everyone to the dining table for lunch. Lucien instinctively pulled out a chair for Lyra. She paused for a second, then gave him an appreciative look before sitting down. The maids began serving the dishes. Every dish looked exquisite. It was clear they had been carefully prepared, and these were all made by Lady Dallas herself. Lucien stared at the food in front of him. For a brief moment, his thoughts drifted. In both his past life and this one, he had never truly experienced a warm, home-cooked meal made with care by a mother figure. Now, sitting here, he finally could. A faint smile appeared on his lips. While he was lost in thought, he noticed everyone looking a

While eating, Lyra spoke casually, “After breakfast, get ready. We’re going home.”Lucien paused and looked at her. “Home?”She understood his confusion and added, “We’re going to visit my parents and grandfather. After you woke up, they wanted to see you.”Lucien stiffened slightly. It felt too soon.He had barely adjusted to this life, and now he had to face her family. He lowered his gaze, trying to sort through the memories that did not fully feel like his own.Lyra’s grandfather… the head of the Dallas family.A man with a strong and intimidating presence, yet surprisingly warm toward his family. Especially toward Lucien. He was the one who had insisted on this marriage. Lucien remembered that he had been close to his own grandfather, who had trusted the Dallas family enough to entrust him to them before his death. The memories came slowly, like fragments. After Lucien Crossel’s mother died, his father, Jeffery Crossel, brought his mistress into the house along with her son, Fred

After getting ready, Lucien went downstairs to make breakfast. The moment he stepped into the kitchen, the staff froze. He had never entered the kitchen before, not even to get a glass of water. The chefs were already preparing Lyra’s breakfast. She had always lived in luxury, and her meals were handled by a top level chef because she was extremely particular about taste. All eyes turned to Lucien.“Master, do you need anything?” one of the kitchen staff asked politely. “Do you have any special requests for breakfast?”Lucien shook his head. “No. I came to cook today. You can all take a break.”The staff exchanged uneasy glances. The head chef stepped forward, doubt clear on his face.“Master, it would be better if we prepare it. If something goes wrong, Mistress will hold us responsible.”Lucien understood exactly what that meant. They did not trust him.Even the butler and David stepped in.“Master, please go and rest. Let them handle it.”Lucien’s patience thinned.“This is my hous

Lucien fell into a deep sleep, exhausted from the medication and weakness. His black curls spread across the pillow, contrasting against his pale skin that seemed to glow softly under the faint light coming through the window. He lay partially over Lyra, his head resting against her chest, his breathing slow and steady. But Lyra was wide awake. She had been waiting for this moment.Turning her head slightly, she looked down at him, feeling the calm rhythm of his breathing. Once she was sure he was deeply asleep, she softly called,“Lucien…”He didn’t respond.A faint, knowing smile appeared on her lips. Her fingers moved gently into his curls, slowly stroking his hair as she admired his face. Was he always this handsome? How did I never notice before? Her hand slipped from his hair, and she hesitated before reaching for his face.Just then, he shifted in his sleep. She froze.Lucien turned slightly, now facing her directly, their faces suddenly very close.Too close.Lyra’s breath hit
