Chapter 94

Author: Bodhi Blossom
Sophie found herself dazed from the slap, her head ringing.

"Natalie! You lied!"

Natalie snorted at that. "There are people who are pretty but dumb, but alas, you're just pretty dumb.

"I never finished my sentence. What I was going to say was, I wouldn't want to dirty my hands, but it's another matter if you're just asking for it."

Sophie's face flushed with anger, and she looked like she might explode on the spot.

Just then, Sienna finally remembered to defend Sophie. She pretended to look offended and asked, "Natalie, how can you say such awful things? Mr. Doole and Mr. Frey are both watching. What are they going to think of you?"

It was Sienna's go-to move. She always liked using others to do her dirty work before she stepped in, playing the righteous hero.

Sienna continued with her act and took the opportunity to approach Chuck.

"I'm sorry you had to witness that, Mr. Doole. That's just how Natalie is. Please don't take offense."

  • Opening My Eyes to Reality   Chapter 331

Alas… Under Rowan's lashes, sorrow filled his eyes, and an imperceptible trace of resentment flickered across his face.He tightened his arms around Natalie, wishing he could mold her against him. She was the one person he wouldn't let go of, not even in death.Rowan carried Natalie into the bedroom and laid her down gently on the bed. He didn't bother turning on the lights as he hovered over her frame, staring at her.A moment later, she squirmed self-consciously under his intense gaze and cleared her throat. "Was it a complicated errand?"Rowan nodded and kissed her between her brows. "Goodnight."Just as he rose to leave, Natalie took his hand, her fingers inadvertently grazing the red hair tie on his wrist. A strange emotion simmered within her, drowning out the words she'd been about to say to make him stay.Surprised, Rowan glanced at her. "What's the matter?"Natalie's gaze trailed down his wrist to the jarring red hair tie. She asked, "The person who owned that red hair

Rowan had specially converted one of the rooms in the apartment into an art studio. He had stocked it with plenty of paints, canvases, easels, and everything related to painting.Natalie sat in the studio for a while, but she found that she couldn't focus. Eventually, she put the easel away.Glancing at the time, she realized it was already noon, but Rowan hadn't returned yet. She didn't know why, but a sense of unease gnawed at her, and it was only getting worse. When she came out of the studio, she gave Rowan a call, but no one picked up.Frowning, she decided to call Landon. Thankfully, he answered. Her words flew out of her mouth as she asked, "Landon, is Rowan with you?"Landon felt a lump in his throat as he glanced at Rowan, who was lying in the emergency room. But he quickly pushed through it and answered, "Yes, he is, but something suddenly came up, so he can't answer the phone right now."Natalie let out a long exhale. As long as he was okay, then everything was fine.

Publicly announcing Jason's identity was undoubtedly a slap in the face to Rowan. His eyes darkened. "He wants everyone to know exactly where he stands, including me."The words had just left his mouth when the office door was pushed open.Landon glanced over, his eyes far too hostile. "Mr. Mattel Senior, do you have business with Mr. Rowan?"Gregory didn't even spare him a glance as he barked, "Get out!"Landon was firmly on Rowan's side, and he only listened to his orders. If Rowan didn't say anything, then he wouldn't move. He stood his ground until Rowan said softly, "Landon, wait outside."Landon nodded and left the office.Rowan stayed seated, facing Gregory. He had no intention of standing up. He crossed his arms over his chest as his brows raised slightly, a half-smile playing on his lips.Gregory took a deep breath, clearly displeased. "Ro, I've warned you not to touch Lorcan. Why won't you listen?"Rowan grinned, looking as if he couldn't care less. "He's supposed to

It was Gregory who disrupted the meeting, and behind him was another figure.Gregory approached step by step. Though advanced in age, his commanding presence remained as intense as it had been in his prime. His gaze swept across the room as he spoke in a deep voice, "Bring two chairs over."At once, someone scrambled to grab chairs for him.Soon enough, two chairs were placed right beside Rowan. As Gregory took a seat, the other person sat down as well.Rowan leaned back sharply in his chair, a cold smirk tugging at his lips. "What's the meaning of this, Mr. Chairman?"Gregory shot him a glance before turning to the room with a stern expression and announcing, "I came to introduce someone to you all today—Lorcan Mattel, the eldest grandson of the Mattel family. I've transferred all the shares under my name to him. "Furthermore, he will take over as chairman of Mattel Group, and I hope all shareholders will fully support and cooperate with Lorc."His words struck like thunder, s

Pamela's expression grew even uglier. The poised and elegant facade she always wore had cracked, and underneath it was her true self—a woman twisted with bitter jealousy."It seems like I underestimated you, Natalie. You're more formidable than I thought. No wonder your ex-husband was taken down by you. But as long as I'm still here, don't even think about turning Ro into your next victim. I won't stand by and do nothing."Natalie found her laughable. "Don't make it sound so noble. Stop pretending you're doing this out of the goodness of your heart. You're just jealous of me, Pamela. Why bother dressing it up as righteous indignation?"Pamela refused to admit it. She insisted on standing on the moral high ground, casting judgment on Natalie. Now that the gloves were off, Pamela's friendly pretense had long since vanished. She stood up slowly, her gaze locked on Natalie sitting on the couch."I only see Rowan as a brother. It's you who sees everything through a filthy lens. I came

Pamela cut straight to the point, not even bothering with small talk.As expected, she wasn't here to see Rowan. And it appeared that she couldn't sit still any longer, nor could she keep up with the pretense.Unfazed, Natalie said calmly, "You can come in and say what you have to say, Ms. Maxwell."The moment the words left her mouth, she had already turned, leaving Pamela momentarily stunned. Natalie's reaction caught her off guard. She furrowed her brows slightly before stepping inside.Even though Pamela and Rowan had grown up together, she could count on one hand the number of times she had set foot in this place. Rowan had a strong sense of personal boundaries, and he disliked having anyone, including both friends and family, intruding on his life. But clearly, Natalie was an exception.Pamela noticed the fresh flowers placed around the room, as well as the warm-toned curtains. She even noticed a pair of fluffy house slippers neatly lined up by the entryway. If she hadn't s
