“It’s not too late to change your mind, princess” Phillip says to his daughter; admiring her reflection in the mirror they were standing in front of. ‘I wish she would forget about the whole promise’ he includes to himself with a sigh.
Turning to her father; “Dad; we’ve been over this” Simone answers him, holding back the tears forming in her eyes as she straightens his tie. “I need to do this. It’s for my benefit as much as it is for Emmett’s.”
“I know, I know” Phillip states, holding out his arm for Simone to grab hold of. “We will be late if we don’t head over to the church now.”
Walking out of her father’s house and sliding into the seat of an old Rolls Royce they hired; Simone pecks her father on the cheek. “Thanks Dad” she whispers as the car pulls onto the road for the small drive to the church. It was a small affair, only Phillip, Tiffany, Jenny, Vince and Sebastian; Jenny’s father was attending.
Getting to the door of the chapel; Simone looks down at the alter and sees a familiar face staring back at her in a black suit. His features have matured somewhat since she saw him last. He had become very handsome in his time away with messy dark hair and no more glasses hiding his chocolate brown eyes. Standing over 6 feet; ‘woah; I never thought he would be so tall’ she thinks to herself, turning to look at Tiffany as they reach the alter; giving her the bouquet of flowers Simone was holding.
Emmett’s heart skipped a beat when he saw Simone at the doorway. ‘She’s as beautiful as I remember’ he says to himself. Giving her a warm smile; he notices her look over at her bridesmaid and hands her the small bouquet of flowers before turning to face him. “You came” he whispers; grabbing hold of her hands.
‘Of course, I did’ she comments in her mind. “Yes. So did you” she giggles back, beaming her own smile at him.
“We are here today to witness the union of Emmett Joshua Peterson and Simone Marie Fitzgibbon” the priest announces to get the wedding started. Since it was a small affair, he decided to make it quick and simple; skipping over a few steps. ‘There is no point asking if anyone has any objections’ he contemplates before continuing with the service.
Pulling the plain identical gold bands out of his pocket, Emmett hands Simone his wedding band. “Do you, Simone Marie Fitzgibbon take Emmett Joshua Peterson to be your lawfully wedded husband. To have and to hold. In sickness and in health, until death do you part” the priest asks Simone.
“I do” she responds, placing the wedding ring in her hand onto Emmett’s finger.
“And do you Emmett Joshua Peterson take Simone Marie Fitzgibbon to be your lawfully wedded wife. To have and to hold. In sickness and in health, until death do you part” the priest questions, turning his focus on Emmett.
“I do” he answers; beaming a smile and placing the wedding band on Simone’s finger.
“I now pronounce you man and wife” the priest announces; looking towards Emmett with a grin. “You may kiss the bride” he exclaims as shock crosses Simone’s face.
‘What? Kiss?’ she says inwardly. ‘I’ll just give him a peck on the lips’ she tells herself.
Emmett had other ideas. The moment the priest said he may kiss Simone; the corner of his lips curved upwards before planting them on Simone’s, giving her a deep passionate kiss. Gasps were echoed around the church; “sorry; I got carried away” Emmett chuckles, as the pair pull apart from one another.
He planned to give her a passionate kiss. He even made sure the priest added the ‘he may kiss the bride’ part before anyone else got there.
Simone’s cheeks went pink, looking towards her father’s shocked expression before giggling along with Emmett “Dad’s book a table at the local restaurant. Do you mind if we celebrate our wedding there?” she questions Emmett.
“Sure” he smiles with a shrug as everyone leaves the church to get changed and head to the restaurant.
“Emmett, what do you do for a living?” Phillip asks his new son-in-law as they sit down at the table in the restaurant. ‘If this is going to work; I should at least get to know him’ he thinks to himself; watching Simone’s face light up at the question.
“I’m one of the journalists for Lester Drake Media. I primarily work for In the Know Magazine; however, if my services are needed in any of the other magazines or newspaper offices; I will lend my skills. You will find most of the journalists in Lester Drake Media do the same” Emmett responds; having practiced the answer all morning. He didn’t want to let them know he was Drake Spencer; co-owner and co-CEO of Lester Drake Media.
There was light conversation around the table; mainly catching up on what they had been doing for the last 15 years from schooling and work. Simone made sure to mention her role at Lively Design Studio. She told Emmett, once she left high school; she became part of the backstage crew for shows and photoshoots. She helped dress the models, displaying the latest looks in fashion; designed by Lively Design Studio. ‘I’m not lying. This is what I did for the first two years before venturing into a modelling’ Simone states to herself.
As they finished their meals. “Are you ready to see your new home?” Emmett asks Simone, looking hopeful she was ready to leave.
“I guess” she answers, her face turning slightly pink again.
‘God she’s beautiful when she blushes’ Emmett says to himself as he stands up from the table. “It was nice to see you again, Mr Fitzgibbon.”
“Please, no need to be so formal Emmett. You may call me Dad if it pleases you” Phillip says to Emmett with a smile.
“Ok” Emmett grins, grabbing hold of Simone’s hand. “Dad” he adds, before leading Simone out to his car.
The small two-bedroom, two-bathroom bungalow came into view as Emmett turned down the street. It was at the end of a no through road; standing by itself. Unbeknownst to Simone; Emmett recently purchased the house a month prior and had been living there to not appear overly wealthy to her. He didn’t want any neighbours around, which made this house perfect for them.“Home, sweet home” Emmett exclaims, pulling into the driveway; watching Simone’s every reaction from the corner of his eye.Lifting her head to look through the front windscreen; “quaint little house” she says with a smile, opening the car door and heading to the trunk to grab her suitcase. ‘It looks very homely’ she adds to herself nervously.“Let me” Emmett says, grabbing the suitcase before shutting the trunk of the car and turning toward the front door. Before opening the door with his keys, a small playful smirk crosses his face.“What?” Simone questions, hesitant about what he was thinking.Placing the suitcase down b
Waking up the next morning; the smell of bacon cooking wafted through the air. Coming out of his room, Emmett saw Simone slaving over the stove. “Good morning” he announces, taking a seat at the dining table.“You’re awake” Simone responds, placing three eggs into the frypan. “Mrs Walker always said a wife should cook for her husband because food is the way to a man’s heart.”‘You already have my heart’ Emmett says to himself; trying not to smile to show his satisfaction with her comment. “There was no need to trouble yourself” he responds to her. He only purchased the food two days prior to the wedding. Emmett prefers to eat out but decided to get some supplies in case she wanted to cook.“It’s ok; I was cooking some for myself. I figured I should cook some for you too” Simone explains, placing the bacon, eggs, toast, and mushrooms on the table for Emmett to help himself to some breakfast.“Thank you” he says, reaching out to grab her hand; before quickly retracting it again. ‘No; sh
Walking casually through the mall to the Bedding store; Simone notices a few couples holding hands. Pausing a moment to contemplate if she should hold Emmett’s; ‘would he mind if I held his hand? We are married after all’ she questions herself.Deciding to just do it; Simone picks up her pace to catch up to Emmett, grabbing hold of his hand; “I only have short legs” she teases; slowing down his stride.Emmett looks down at her hand; a small smile caresses his face. “Sorry, I should have been more aware” he answers; not letting go of her any time soon. ‘This is better’ he injects inwardly. They walk into the Bedding store and promptly purchase the items Simone wanted to buy before heading back out; hand in hand. “Where to now?” Emmett asks her.“We could always go to the food court to get lunch” Simone suggests, looking at his reaction.‘Ugh’ he says to himself. Emmett was never fond of food from a food court. But as he was pretending to be a journalist and not a CEO; he agreed to her
After putting her items away; Simone strolled out to the living room. She wanted to clarify with Emmett about their relationship and marriage. ‘I hope he is willing to take things slow. As it is; I have never actually been in a relationship before’ she says inwardly to herself. As she approached the living space; her phone suddenly goes off. “Is that Tiff? I need to chat with her about a few things” she asks Emmett, sitting on the sofa.“Who is Bartholomew?” he questions, looking at the caller on her phone from the coffee table. ‘She is my wife. Why would she have another man calling her’ he adds in his mind; jealousy enraging him.Simone’s face turns pale as the call goes to voicemail and a missed call message pings on her phone. “Umm…” she begins. ‘How can I explain about Bart to Emmett? He isn’t wanting me; he wants me to talk to Leona.’Just as she was about to continue; her phone goes off again. Answering the call this time; Simone screams down the phone. “What do you want?” ‘Eas
“I’ll just have a hot chocolate” Simone tells the waitress, sitting down next to Emmett at the local café; mid-afternoon. The pair decided to catch a movie during the day and stopped to grab a hot beverage on their way home. “I’m allergic to caffeine; I can’t drink tea or coffee” she adds; explaining her decision to Emmett. It was more for him to take note for future reference.“What happens if you digest caffeine?” Emmett questions; thinking it might be like a nut or seafood allergy and he should be aware of what to do if she goes into anaphylactic shock.“Migraines mainly. I can be locked up in a dark room for three or four days if I am not careful” Simone explains nonchalantly; trying to not make a mountain out of a molehill. “I know my limitations when it comes to caffeine. I try to avoid it because it’s easier.”“Moan; why are you here? What unsuspecting soul have you offered yourself to, this time?” A voice snarls behind Emmett and Simone. Emmett’s eyes darken as he recognises t
Waking up the next morning; ‘what the fuck? Where am I?’ Simone murmurs in her mind, trying to remember what happened. She remembers lying on the sofa, watching television. Trying to roll over to get out of the bed she was in; an arm wraps around her, pulling her back to settle into the muscled chest behind her.“Good morning” Emmett whispers, giving a peck on her ear.‘Emmett. I’m in Emmett’s room’ she says to herself. ‘I must have fallen asleep on the sofa and he bought me in here.’ “Morning” Simone murmurs back, a smile glistening her face; barely containing the happiness she was feeling. “What am I doing in here?”“You looked uncomfortable on the sofa. You don’t mind I bought you in here?” Emmett asks, uncertain if he made the right choice last night. They have been slowly getting more intimate; he wanted her to sleep next to him.“It’s fine” Simone assures him, a small blush creeping on her face. ‘It’s more than fine’ she adds to herself; ‘It’s marvellous.’Smiling inwardly, Emme
Releasing himself from Simone’s lips; Emmett pulls her nightdress over her head; his lips slowly moving down her neck. “I’m scared” Simone whispers; not knowing what to expect.“Do you trust me?” Emmett asks, unlatching her bra from behind and throwing it proudly to the ground beside them.“Yes” she replies hesitantly as Emmett moves his lips down her chest; licking her right nipple.“I want to taste you. May I?” Emmett asks; lifting his chin to gaze into Simone’s eyes. Not sure how to answer him; Simone nods. “Use your words. May I?” he asks again.“Y-Yes” Simone stutters as Emmett’s lips move down her stomach and he removes her underwear. Parting her legs, he places a finger near her opening, softly massaging to moisten her entrance. His lips tickle down her waist.Simone closes her eyes tight; bracing herself for what might happen. “Open your eyes” Emmett demands, kissing each thigh. Simone slowly opens her eyes to see what is happening. Using his tongue; he licks her entrance befo
As soon as Emmett left the house; Simone felt relieved. She overheard a bit of what he was arguing on the phone. It had something to do with attaining an interview with Leona Simmons. Without giving it a second thought; she quickly left Emmett’s room and rushed to hers.Pulling out Leona’s mobile from her top draw; Simone messaged her manager Angela to set up the interview. However, she would only do either as a phone interview or answer their questions via email. She also stipulated Emmett was the only one allowed to conduct the interview. ‘This should help him’ she thought to herself. The other stipulation was the interview needed to be done today. ‘If he is not home; I won’t have to explain about Leona’s mobile and someone calling me on it’ she thought.Sensing another problem if Emmett was going to conduct a phone interview, she quickly messaged Tiffany to come over to her house and promptly gave her the address. Once done, she placed the mobile on charge, noticing it was down to
