CLARA'S POV
“Who are you?!” His voice echoed in the room. This time I didn't wake up seeing the vulnerable looking man of yesterday instead he acted like a monster.
My body hit the floor, it was so hard that I could feel the sharp pain down my waist. I looked at him with a dagger-like glare.
“Why did you attack me?” I said in a conflicting tone, at that moment I had to hold my nerves in order not to feast on him alive.
“Don't reply to me with a question. I said who are you and what are you doing in my suite?” He said strictly, his voice was more scary than I thought.
“I'm Clara Voss, the chef of the private rooms.” I said boldly to avoid suspicion, my hands shivering as I stood up to wrap my naked body.
“How did you get into my suite, woman? Start talking. If not , I will send you to the place of no return.” He threatened.
At that moment I saw the reason why my foster father made such a statement. The notion that Adrian always forgot the women he slept with on his wife's death anniversary was indeed true.
“Don't be deceived by his looks because an evil man always stays hidden.” My foster father's words continued to play in my head and immediately I knew I had to give a valid explanation.
“I came into the private lounge to serve you more drinks and food you ordered for. But the moment I left the lounge you grabbed me from behind.” I said softly, scanning his facial expression.
“You can't deceive me. Because I wouldn't tolerate any deception.” He cut me off.
“That's the truth sir, you can check the CCTV camera to confirm my words.” My voice was faint, but I knew I had to play innocent.
“Continue!” His voice roared, which wrapped me with so much fear but I stayed rigid.
“I was about to leave but you said I should stay close to you. That you've been missing your late wife.”
“I had to agree because of how vulnerable you looked. I didn't want my boss to die on a fateful day.” My voice was so calm, that anyone that wasn't present would believe me.
“What's your business if I die? You're just a staff here so don't overstep boundaries.” He said gritting his teeth together.
“I'm just a lady who's surviving. My parents are relatively poor and I need this job to survive.”
“That's why I prioritize my boss,” I expressed, my eyes scanned through the atmosphere.
“Where are your clothes? I don't believe slut like you. After we check the CCTV, you won't have any excuses.”
“I could lock you in my private security cell if I wanted.” He threatened, while pointing his hands at my eyes.
My hands were shivering and trembling. I only hoped the CCTV doesn't reveal any clue that would raise suspicions.
We reached the room, I stood in the entrance still deep in thought. Being caught means my underground plan would be ruined.
After watching the videos he didn't say anything but stared at me intensely. That was the right time to put on an act.
“I told you sir, you took advantage of an innocent chef while you were vulnerable. All I wanted was to ensure my boss was safe last night.” Tears rolled down my chin.
“Only for me to wake up naked in your hands. What would my family or boyfriend say when they hear this.”
“Or what would the manager and staff think when they heard my boss took advantage of me in his vulnerable state.” I cried out, tears streamed down my eyes.
“That's enough!” His voice was loud enough that it could tear down the building.
“Nobody would know. This incident shouldn't be heard outside this room.” He said in a serious tone, while his hands came closer to my neck.
Cold ran down my spine, while fear overwhelmed me. At that point I was scared he would kill me just like my father.
I didn't come with my weapons on. The man I was seeing is more dangerous than I heard.
“That's not possible sir,” I met his gaze without flinching, ensuring I hid my fear behind my enemy. He walked out of the room with his phone, I wondered who he was calling.
“Could it be the police?” I whispered, my body shivered. If it's the police I have to escape from here soon. As I was about to run out of the room before I heard his footsteps.
“Where are you running to?!” He hailed, rolling his eyes.
“Don't think I would let you leave this wall with so much information about me.” He stated, this time he looked dangerous.
I increased my steps but before I could run out the door was shut down. At that moment I was already ready to show some of my fighting skills but that wasn't part of the plan.
“Good day sir. This is the document you requested for.” A man walked through the adjacent door and handed a document over to him.
“This is a marriage contract form. I would be taking responsibility for my reckless act.” He said, handing over the spiral binded form to me.
“You're going to be my wife for five years and after that I will give you a large amount of money.”
“Don't be scared because I would ensure I don't touch you.” His words cut through the silence.
I was relaxed a bit, at least my plan was working. Going to his house wasn't part of my plan but I guess it's better to gather more information.
“I'm not taking responsibility to please you. I just don't want a slut like you spoiling my name over the internet.”
“I'm a man of caliber and my good name is highly valued. So ensure you don't over play your role.”
“Read the contract properly.” He ordered before leaving the room.
Five years on the same roof with my enemy felt like a chain. I couldn't even stand staying with him in the same atmosphere.
My mind was filled with uncertainty but all I wanted was to avenge my father's death.
A man like Adrian doesn't deserve to live a peaceful life. But would my rage for vengeance be the reason why I would be trapped within his world?
CHAPTER SIXTY NINE ADRIAN'S POVWe rushed into the court, my eyes covered with a dark shades. Minutes later, the hearing kicked off with the judge centred at the front of the court. The investors sat opposite us, they looked at us as I entered the sit.“Who's that lady with him?” One of them questioned, their voice sounded disgusted. “Probably she's the one we always see him with. That lady isn't good for me Adrian.” He suggested, whispering to his colleagues.“Ever since the billionaire started following that lady, he has been kind of distracted.” The rest of them murmured in agreement, could they be right? I scanned Clara repeatedly. That's not true, she doesn't have anything to do with what is happening in my life. Instead she has been a pillar since all this occurrence.“Adrian are falling for the lady?” That question rang repeatedly. That's not possible especially falling for a slut that I ended up with because of a one night stand.“The court hearing is about to start.” The jud
CHAPTER SIXTY EIGHT NORA'S POV “I was looking for you everywhere.” A soft voice echoed in the vicinity. It was Nora Vennet, how did she know my hiding spot.“Who told you I was here?” I questioned, scanning the shallow sea. “Your bestfriend told me about it.” I lied, my eyes scanned his full height.I hope he believes me. Adrian doesn't know I have full background information about his life from his hobbies to everything he dislikes.“You shouldn't have come here. I needed a fresh air to breath that's free from humans.” his voice was cold. Instantly I knew this man was going through a extremely though situation. And I caused it…I didn't know wether my father would be happy I caused someone so much pain. My father always says I should avoid any form of activities that causes hurt to anyone.“I wish I can help.” I muttered, holding his hands trying to compensate for my evil deed. I was really falling for the same man I laid a trap for.“Nothing can be done.” He heaved heavily. “We jus
CHAPTER SIXTY SEVEN ADRIAN'S POVBeing in the bad book of my Italian investors was one thing I have avoided only for everything to get ruined. Morning rushed so fast like it knew I had a lot to settle.“Doctor, I want to leave here now.” I ordered, instantly he clamped the drip. “You're more better than tomorrow, I would advice you stay for few days.” He suggested.“Stay?”“I should stay here while my years of hard work are at stake.” His jaws clenched. All the doctors turned and observed him slightly.“Mr Adrian,” paused. “We would let you go but promise to cut down anything alcohol for the main time.” A young doctor voiced, I could see the seriousness in his face.“Noted, I just need to leave this walls immediately. I'm going to make sure I take the vitamins and drugs.” I promised, they removed the monitors and accesses from my hands. She walked into the hospital with a basket of fruit while on her other hand was a food pack. “Good morning, Mr Adrian.” She greeted. “How's your bod
CHAPTER SIXTY SIXCLARA'S POV “Get out of my front before I clench your jaw!” His voice echoed through the wall, my body shivered with goosebumps. While my pulse raised uncontrollably.I moved out of their way. He switched on the television, and the national news was worse than I thought. “John, my company name is being tarnished and you guys said I should rest.” John drew closer to him with his hands folded. My brother's life first, I'm still working on resolving that issue, it seems the Italian people don't overlook things.“What do we know?” He asked, they both looked at each other. “Fix an open dialogue in the conference room tomorrow. Let's see if we can resolve this cordially.” Adrian suggested. Instantly John walked out of the room with his phone next to his ear.The atmosphere became cold and Mira was already lying down on the couch. “Mr Adrian, please I was to visit a place today.” I said asking for permission, he nodded his head in agreement.I scanned the atmosphere to en
CHAPTER SIXTY FIVECLARA'S POV “I'm his wife,” I replied, John turned to me, sending a dangerous look. “Your husband had a really severe fever and cold due to the heavy drinking.” My eyes widely opened. “Because of that he developed pneumonia that has to be managed immediately.” I stood still really confused, what do I know about disease conditions? The only place I could play around was in the kitchen.“What’s pneumonia?” I questioned. “Follow me to my office.” He commanded. The moment we entered his office he breathed heavily.“Mr Adrian's condition is more critical than we thought, he has been going through burnout for a while. Coping with the load of alcohol in his body has made him develop pneumonia.” He explained. “Does that mean he won't get better?” I asked, breathing heavily.“He would but with constant monitoring. It's important that after his recuperation we avoid any more stress.” He suggested, we discussed it for a while before I walked out.I didn't know how to feel, m
CHAPTER SIXTY FOUR CLARA'S POV His weight landed on my chest and the whole atmosphere was wrecked with the smell of liquor. I helped him to his room and the moment I was about to leave he held my hands.“Please don't leave me today,” he pleaded, I felt pity for him. I didn't know my actions could break the billionaire this much. Father would be happy wherever he was while my Foster father would throw a party. He flipped the phone over to me and showed me the video. The British investors sounded so ruthless in the video.“What happened to the project?” I asked cluelessly. He turned to my face and stared at me deeply, my hands shivered profusely.“You want to know what happened? There's no need! Just know that my name was ruined before the international TV.” He said.I felt so much pity for him because I have never seen Adrian this devastated. “My chef served them sugary food and the decorations collapsed in between the celebration.” He murmured.“How could that happen? My staff has n
CHAPTER FOUR- Our fake court wedding CLARA'S POV “Get into the car woman, your work as my contract wife begins now.” He said coldly, signaling me to enter the front of the car.“Ooooh okay,” I said without arguing, normally I would question where he was taking me to. But I didn't want to scatter

CHAPTER ONECLARA’S POV“Take this magazine,” Julian said coldly, as he offered me the blue wrapped stalk of documents.“What's this?” I questioned, while scanning the room despite his dangerous glare.“We’re running out of time, Clara Voss. Those responsible for you father’s death should be with h
CHAPTER FORTYCLARA'S POV The coldness of the water relaxed my nerves. Tonight I wasn't ready to see the faces of those ingrates, I wasn't ready to see Adrian in particular because I would be strangling each of them with my hands.I wasn't ready to act inappropriately yet. So I decided to avoid an
