Chapter 17: 30Days of Summer Day1
Can life get any more awkward? Kane would've said had he not still been in bed. He felt himself on his bed, but what had happened to bring him here the previous night? The previous night! Stephanie had gently rocked him to sleep. He remembered her waking him up to come with her into the bedroom. She must've showered after that because he heard the sound of water splashing in his sleep. Then he smelt the sweet smelling fragrance of her perfume.
Kane felt his hand curl over another human body. It was soft and feminine. He felt his hip against hers. Her lovely body curved about his. He felt a rush of excitement as the realization hit him. Simone hadn't known about Kane's brother. She felt guilty for not taking time to understand Stephanie. She hugged Stephanie from the back. Simon was convinced that he was having a hard time adjusting to his new life. His memory told him that he was once gingerly and more open than he was at the moment. It was barely sunrise but Simon had gotten out of bed. Something was nudging him at his heart. As he stood watch over the ocean he felt a familiarity for this place. He heard a voice tell him that this water has seen it all. That this water knew his story. He bent down to dip his hand into the water. Kane's emotions were on high for the rest of the day. The Solomon twins had left to their own lodge and the only ones left with Kane and Stephanie joined were Anna and Jim.
