Chapter 16: Showing some care
Kane felt a wave of nuesa hit him and he threw up in the kitchen sink. He was feeling a little sickly right after the trip to California. He had mentioned that to Stephanie but he didn't expect it to get so serious. Stephanie stood behind his large frame as he flushed the vomit with water from the tap. He rinsed his mouth and washed his face. Stephanie rubbed his back gently.
He was shivering when she assisted him down to the couch. She went to fetch a blanket from his room. He had given her the direction. She inspected the boyish room. It had posters of different buildings. There were several textbooks on the table and a framed picture faced down. She lifted the frame and saw the two brothers, Kane and Shane. Kane stood on Shane's left, he had his arm placed over Shane's shoulder and his head was tilted towards Shane.

Simone hadn't known about Kane's brother. She felt guilty for not taking time to understand Stephanie. She hugged Stephanie from the back. Simon was convinced that he was having a hard time adjusting to his new life. His memory told him that he was once gingerly and more open than he was at the moment. He decided to deal with his lackadaisical behavior whether it was a mental cause or an emotional one. It was barely sunrise but Simon had gotten out of bed. Something was nudging him at his heart. As he stood watch over the ocean he felt a familiarity for this place. He wondered if their plan had gone wrong, but when he answered the call, he learned that the plan had eventually turned out to become something else entirely.
