Chapter 9.

Carson had woken up the next day, his thoughts wrapped around Lily, he couldn't get the image of her off his mind.

He walked out of his room and descended the stairs while scrolling through his phone. “Good morning sir,” Rosa said while bowing slightly, she was the only maid working in the house. She comes in the morning, cleans the house, and makes breakfast before leaving.

He ignored her and walked straight to the sitting room. Suddenly, he placed a call across to Bernard, his secretary.

“I won't be coming to work today. Clear all appointments.” Carson ordered, and before Bernard could say a word, he ended the call.

After some seconds, his phone began to ring, and he averted his eyes to it immediately. What was he expecting? For Ella to call him when she doesn't have his number? But then, it was his best friend calling.

“Hey man! I will explain why I had to disappoint you yesterday. Are you at home or at work?” Owen inquired from the other end.

“I'm at home, I have a gist for you.”
