Chapter 1: THE NIGHT

POINT YOUR SWORD TO ME CHAPTER ONE: THE NIGHT

It would just be a matter of time before her husband opens the door and consummates their first night.

But, can they consummate their first night? Considering what happened three years ago, Lixien knew that being the Empress awaits many responsibilities.

Lowering her head, she heard a noise from the door. She tightened the grip to her thin robe she was wearing and bit her lip slightly.

Completely turning around, she bowed her head and gave her greetings to the Emperor.

“You’ve come, Your Majesty.”

She felt nervous and scared. Facing the Emperor as his wife felt like she was dreaming. She knew that this position could end her life since her husband is the greatest enemy of his vassals. Because he married her.

He married her because she has all the standards an Empress must have, before having the chance to be the Empress.

She does not dream about such power or wealth, what she wants is to tarnish the bad reputation her father had and change it to a new one. However, since the damage was already done three years ago, she had doubts if she could ever change it to a new reputation that people would love and won’t criticize.

Having the Empress position could mean instant wealth, and fame among nobles, and of course to everyone, but the question is, will she live peacefully inside the Palace?

She had already known and had prepared for the worst that could happen, but some part of her doesn’t want to be the Empress.

The man in front of her, was someone who hated her father, so it was impossible enough to have him love her.

“Lift your head.”

It was from her husband, the Emperor. She gritted her teeth and lifted her head slowly.

After lifting her head, he approached the table near their bed and opened the wine. Her eyes slightly shook at the thought that this night would be tiring for her.

She hid her fingers that were fidgeting and she gulped her saliva.

He then turned to her, who looked like a statue, standing there unmoving and he tilted his head.

“What are you doing? Sit here.” He looked at the chair opposite him, and nodded to her, as if urging her to sit opposite him.

She bowed her head and elegantly sat in front of him. She took the wine bottle from his hand gently, and poured the wine to his goblet, slowly and politely.

“Here is the wine, Your Majesty.”

He seemed pleased and lifted his brow to her empty goblet. Noticing that he was staring at her goblet, she gulped her saliva and immediately poured some wine into her glass.

He breathed calmly and drank the wine gentlemanly.

Looking that he started drinking his, she then turned her sight to her goblet and drank it unhurriedly.

The wine was strong, and it tasted like it had some aphrodisiac. With that thought, she widened her eyes and opened her mana to feel if there was an aphrodisiac, and as expected, the wine has a strong portion of aphrodisiac.

With her magic, feeling how much aphrodisiac was given, she felt disappointed and ashamed.

Frowning, she couldn’t help but to think who would do that, or was it supposed to be like that?

Thinking that it was intentionally like that, she lowered her head even more.

They put an aphrodisiac inside the wine in order for them to consummate their first night together. She was ashamed that someone had to put an aphrodisiac to the wine in order for the Emperor to do 'that' with her. She deeply sighed and he heard her.

Looking at her, he felt uncomfortable and opened his robe widely. His unstable breathing and mad expression was visible.

“Are you scared of me?”

He asked in a cold tone. She flinched and looked up at him. No, she must be brave.

Gaining her confidence, she clenched her fist and replied to him.

“No, Your Majesty. Why would I be scared of you? You are the strongest of all, and the bravest of all. I am not scared of anything if I’m with you, Your Majesty.”

Hearing her, he sneered and smirked.

“Strongest and bravest ha. What’s with your flowery words, My Dear Queen?”

With his cold as ice voice, she couldn’t help but to frown. She knew that he hated her, but wasn't he the one who insisted on marrying her? Even though he could have shown at least a bit of kindness to her considering that he was the one who decided that he would marry her.

It felt like he was insulting her. But she wouldn’t back out. She had sacrificed many things, she couldn’t tolerate it if she made any mistakes.

“I am praising you, Your Majesty. From the start, I always admired your bravery and confidence. I always want to learn from you, and am much more than happy to be your Empress.”

She bowed her head, decided that she wouldn't look at him and would just lower her head. His gaze scares her, especially since she knows it has something to do with what happened three years ago.

He lifted his hand and pondered a bit.

"Are you saying that I was wrong when I said that you were using flowery words?”

She blinked her eyes and felt frustrated. Sure enough, facing him was frightening enough.

“Your Majesty, in fact I was surprised that you noticed my flowery words. What I only want is to compliment you the best I could.”

“Is the best you can do is to lie?”

It penetrated her heart and she felt humiliated.

She shook her head and finally looked at his eyes which he was taken aback a bit.

“No, Your Majesty. How dare I lie to you, the almighty sovereign here? I dare not Your Majesty. Through all the years, I watched you in shadows and could say that what you faced was not a joke—”

He cut off her words with his hand and put down his goblet.

“Are you seriously going to talk about my achievements right now?”

He sounded dissatisfied.

She felt stressed and desperate that this night could please end sooner. She never had someone who’s hard to deal with. Because actually it was the people that pleaded with their cold sweat on their foreheads, not her.

So facing someone she never encountered before was very difficult for her. He was the real opposite of her.

She quickly stood up and bowed her head.

“Forgive me, Your Majesty. I just don’t know what to do.”

He touched his forehead and stood up, approaching her.

“You don’t know what to do, Empress?”

She got flustered and racked her brain to figure out what he was talking about and she didn’t know what to say other than lower her head and wait for her death.

“I wasn’t expecting that you’d be like this now that we’re married, Empress.”

She felt like he had been constantly insulting her but she thought that she might just be overthinking.

“I am sorry, Your Majesty. I-I am just not that ready, please forgive me for your loyal servant is disappointing your expectations.”

He sighed and helped her lift her head. He didn’t know why he couldn’t tolerate her lowering her head to him. With his frowning face, she concluded that she did something wrong, but what could it be?

“You didn’t disappoint me. To be precise you surprised me, Empress.”

He was polite and let go of her wrist gently.

“I am happy that I didn’t disappoint Your Majesty.”

She looked at his eyes which seemed familiar. Has she seen it previously?

“But, Your Majesty, do you know that wine has an aphrodisiac?”

She was worried that he might get out of control and asked.

He breathed and glanced at the wine.

“Yes, indeed. Did you also feel it?”

“Yes, Your Majesty. From what I felt, it was a bit high.”

She propped her chin against her hand.

“Yes. It’s high.”

She lowered her gaze and looked up.

“Your Majesty, may I help you undress yourself?”

He slightly widened his eyes and stared at her. He felt that she was really bold to ask such a question.

She then realized that it might sound rude to him, so she quickly continued.

“Ah, I am just concerned that you might feel uncomfortable by the aphrodisiac, Your Majesty. I have no bad intentions.”

She felt really humiliated.

“Yes, you can help me.”

He turned his body around. She gulped her saliva with lots of difficulty and tiptoed to reach his robe.

Taking his robe down, she suddenly felt nervous. She remembered that it was their first night. Therefore, what he said to her was an indirect way of telling him to start consummating their first night.

Removing his outer robe, she was about to help him undress the last cloth he had when he faced her and said.

“Are you ready?”

She couldn’t process his words momentarily and after realizing what he was talking about, she gritted her teeth secretly.

“Y-Yes, Your Majesty.”

She didn’t know that it was this embarrassing.

He tucked his hand out and she stared at it before putting her hand.

Breathing, he gently pulled her closer to him and grabbed her waist carefully, before picking her up, carrying her to the bed.

“Ack! Your Majesty, I-I can walk.”

She was flustered and looked ahead, noticing that he was walking to their bed. It was then she realized that he was carrying her to the bed to do ‘that’ with her.

“Don’t move, or you’ll fall.”

She stopped struggling and wrapped her hands around his neck. This was really embarrassing for her. Who would have thought that the man whom she always had to bow her head to every time she met him, would be her husband?

When he put her on the bed, she gulped her saliva and closed her eyes. She was very nervous, and didn’t know what to do. She gripped her skirt tightly, that it dug out her skin slightly.

Putting his last cloth away, he sat on the bed and looked at her, who was already staring at him and was biting her lip.

Reaching out for her face, he wiped the blood away from her lips and said.

“Why are you biting your lips? It might leave a scar.”

His voice was worried.

She was awakened by his words and said. “I-I am just nervous, Your Majesty.”

He looked at her robe and hesitated if he should put it away or not.

He then sighed helplessly and lowered his hand from her lips. Recovering the cloth he put away, he leaned on the headers of the bed. He had also wiped the aphrodisiac he drank from the wine a moment ago, so it was easy for him to suppress his desire.

Seeing that he was doing nothing, she bit her lip and felt like she was stopping her husband, the Emperor on top of that, from doing ‘that’ with her.

She then faced him and put her robe down from her right shoulder, revealing a white shoulder.

He was surprised and sat upright.

"W-what are you doing, Empress?"

He was flustered and didn't know what to say. He lifted his hand and grabbed her fallen robe, preventing it from exposing her body even more.

“It’s just a matter of time before we do that, Your Majesty. They said, `Time is of the essence.'”

He laughed at her words and covered his mouth. Inching forward, he arced up his lips and caressed her right cheek. Taking her hands, and pulling her close to him in a gentle manner, he asked.

“Then, I must not hold back. Is that what you were saying, Empress?”

She looked up at him and replied.

“That’s right, Your Majesty.”

Leaning forward to her, she closed her eyes, feeling his breath getting closer to her face.

The last thing she knew was that she mustn't go back to her words.
