ALEENA'S POV

When I turned around, I found Rosie watching me from behind the bar. She had been wiping down the counter, but her attention was now fixed on me.

"What happened?" she asked. "What got Damien so worked up?"

I placed the empty glass on the counter. "I asked if I could take Lynn's assignment because she isn't feeling well. That's all. He suddenly started shouting about how I should be attending to the guests instead of asking to go into a private room."

Rosie's expression shifted. She

  • Professor Off-Limits   Chapter 27: Room 24

ALEENA'S POVWhen I turned around, I found Rosie watching me from behind the bar. She had been wiping down the counter, but her attention was now fixed on me."What happened?" she asked. "What got Damien so worked up?"I placed the empty glass on the counter. "I asked if I could take Lynn's assignment because she isn't feeling well. That's all. He suddenly started shouting about how I should be attending to the guests instead of asking to go into a private room."Rosie's expression shifted. She glanced briefly in the direction Damien had gone before looking back at me."Why would you ask to go in her place?""Because she's unwell. I thought it would be better if someone else handled it."Rosie let out a quiet breath. "Allie, you need to be careful with those private rooms."I frowned. "Why?"She leaned closer, lowering her voice so the guests nearby wouldn't hear. "Not every waitress gets sent in there. Only certain girls are assigned to those rooms regularly.""Why only certain girls

  • Professor Off-Limits   Chapter 26: The Silhouette

"Allie, table six needs another round," Rosie called out through the loud music as she walked past me with a loaded tray in her hands. "Right away," I responded as I lifted the empty glasses from the counter and glanced towards the VIP section. The Velvet Room was busy tonight—it had been getting busy for the past week, and I hadn't even gotten a moment for myself, nor to think about that night Lorcan almost kissed me. As I made my way towards table six, a familiar silhouette caught my attention near the hallway leading to the private rooms. I hadn't seen her face clearly due to the coloured lights dancing around, but something about her figure and the way she walked made me slow down a bit. She looked extremely familiar. I took another glance at the hallway just in time and saw the woman stepping into room 24. She looked exactly like Mira. Or could that be Mira? But what was she doing at Velvet Room, the very place she had warned me against? The thought stayed with me till I fi

  • Professor Off-Limits   Chapter 25- The Almost Kiss

ALEENA’s POVHis acknowledgment certainly didn't erase anything, but it made it harder to hold on to my anger at the same intensity."I still don't trust you, Lorcan," I admitted. "But I'm not going to pretend everything is fine just because you apologized."He took a deep breath. "I'm not asking you to, Aleena. I understand."I glanced at him again. "So what exactly do you want?"He seemed to consider my question before answering. "A chance to do better."I didn't know what to say to that. For a moment, I just studied his face, looking for some hidden meaning behind his words. But he didn't push me for an answer. Instead, his eyes briefly moved over my face before he asked, "How's your reassessment going?""I'm preparing for it."He nodded. "Good."His response was so immediate that I looked at him. There was no teasing in his expression, no challenge hidden behind his words. He seemed to mean it."You're being unusually agreeable tonight, Professor."A faint smile touched his lips.

  • Professor Off-Limits   Chapter 24 — He was sorry

Aleena's POVThe evening rush had just begun at Velvet Room, and I was already moving between tables, taking orders and checking on customers. The music played softly beneath the steady hum of conversations, while Rosie worked behind the bar, preparing drinks for the growing crowd.I'd become more comfortable with the job over the past few weeks. I knew which customers preferred to be left alone, which ones liked to chat, and how to keep up when several tables needed attention at once. It wasn't the easiest job, but the money was good, and I needed every bit of it.I was placing a fresh drink on a table when the entrance door opened. My eyes wandered towards it, and my hand almost slipped.Shit.It was Professor Lorcan.I stared at him for a second, wondering what he was doing here. After our last conversation, I hadn't expected to see him again so soon, especially not outside campus. He glanced around the room, his grey eyes moving over the crowd before settling on me.I quickly look

  • Professor Off-Limits   Chapter 23- Ray helped her

ALEENA's POVA week had passed since my last conversation with Professor Lorcan, and I had become rather good at avoiding him.I arrived for his lectures, took my seat, kept my eyes on my notes, and left as soon as class ended. Whenever possible, I made sure I was among the first students out of the room.It wasn't particularly difficult. Lorcan hadn't exactly made an effort to approach me either.Still, avoiding him didn't mean I had stopped thinking about him.If anything, it had become worse. The dream I'd had about him continued to haunt me at the most inconvenient moments. Sometimes, I'd be reading or trying to concentrate on an assignment, only for an unwanted image of his gray eyes to flash through my mind. I'd immediately feel my cheeks warm and force myself to think about something else.It was ridiculous. The man had given me enough reasons to hate him, yet my subconscious seemed determined to make things difficult.I was beginning to think I needed a new brain.Thankfully,

  • Professor Off-Limits   Chapter 22- He realized

Lorcan’s POVThe moment Aleena walked out of my office, every single instinct I had wanted me to call her back.I leaned back against my desk, and dragged a hand down my face. The room was already quiet, but the sharpness of her voice still rang in my head—most especially the hurt in her voice she was trying to conceal with anger.I had no right to expect her to accept my apology with wide arms—not after how I had treated her.But yet, some pathetic part of me had wanted her to soften and give me something that suggested I hadn’t ruined whatever fragile understanding we’d once had at the beginning of the semester. But instead she walked away from me, which was very valid—after all, I was the one who put her in that situation in the first place because her face reminded me of someone I had tried so hard to forget.I leaned forward and unlocked the bottom drawer, pulling out the photo again.Bianca.My fingers curled around the edge of the fragile paper, almost crumpling it.Aleena’s r

ALEENA’S POVI stood there frozen, my face still flushed.“Leena, what did Professor Lorcan give to you?”Mira said as she hurriedly walked towards me.“Huh, It's nothing.” I said and quickly shoved the paper in my bag.“That's not nothing. Come on let me see.” She said and reached for my bag.I sla

ALEENA'S POVThe next morning, I woke up, still replaying the feeling of his lips on the side of my face. Then the buzzing of my phone jolted me from my thoughts. It was a text from an unknown number."Hope you slept well, Aleena." And I immediately knew it was from Lorcan.I stared at the screen fo

  • Professor Off-Limits   Chapter 2- First Detention

ALEENA's PovThe clock on my nightstand beeped six thirty, and my stomach dropped.I had been sitting on my bed for an hour, knees pulled to my chest, trying not to think about where I was supposed to be at seven.Mira was still out, probably still on her date, and I was grateful. I did not want to

ALEENA'S POVI looked at the F on my test results wide eyed, my head buzzing a little.I blinked severally, refreshing the student portal but it didn't change. How on earth did I fail my essay?Westhaven academy buzzed around me. Students checked their mid term results and screamed with joy. Nobody
