Chapter Seventeen: Viva Revaluation 

“Can I speak to my daughter alone?” Shayla asked as she shoved her pockets.

“Sure, I need to get some sleep anyway.” Astra said as she left the room.

Shayla and angelica sat in the armchairs by the fireplace. They sat in silence for a moment before Angelica broke the silence.

“I am so sorry for running away.” She said praying her mom wouldn’t be angry. “I had no idea Jack was an assassin.”

“How could you have known I was so hell-bent on keeping all this from you.” Shayla said as she easied Angelica's worries. “I should have told you sooner. Astra was right, keeping you in the dark was unnecessary. If I had told you why I was so overprotective all this would have been avoided and we may have found your father sooner. I never listened to your needs and what you wanted. That was wrong of me; I should have listened to you both.”
