Chapter Eighteen: The Message

“How in the world are you going to just target those who won’t stand against us?” Devon asked after Angelica shared her plan with everyone else.

“That just it; we send the message to everyone. Only those who don’t wish us harm can cross the barrier.” Angelica said as she picked at her breakfast. “There have to be others who are sick of hiding and tired of the bloodshed.”

“The vampiric council has murdered so many there has to be others who are angry.” Devon stared at his hands thinking of Clair and the child he never held. The pain from the wound was still fresh after twenty years. “They will come.”

“So how do I broadcast the message to everyone?” Angelica asked as she popped bacon into her mouth. “I don’t want to send it out to humans and out the fact that vampires and werewolves exist.”

“They would have a heart attack if they discovered the truth that their trashy paperbacks are real.” Astra said as she chewed her own bacon.
