Chapter Thirteen: Trapped
*DAYS BEFORE*
“Astra, she’s gone!” Shayla screamed as she ran downstairs.
“What are you talking about?” Astra asked, confused.
“She ran off with someone named Jack.”
“Give me that.” Astra took the letter and balled it up and rolled it in her hand. Sparks began to fly as she pulled her hands apart. “Shit!”
Shayla and Astra read the letter in shock. “I told you to tell her!” Astra said as she threw her hands in the air as if to say, ‘I told you so.’
Shayla started to cry from frustration. “I didn’t think she was not ready to know. Her world would change, and she would never forgive me.”
“Her world is already changing; she is not a baby anymore, Shy.” Astra said as she threw on her bag. “Now I have to go after her before he hurts her. Stay safe till I get back.”
