...EARLIER IN THE DAY...

~CHRISTOPHER'S POV~

Today we are celebrating something but I don't know what but it will sure be nice.

But if I want to make it out of here in time I have to focus on this paperwork and maybe get it done. Last week we got a shipment of precious stones. It included diamonds,rubies,pearls, sapphire and so on. The moment Kim found out that the shipment was here she was giddy like a toddler. It was so adorable but when I told her that she told me that she is sexy not adorable.

I wanted to say she is both but I just agreed to what she said. She took almost all the rubies and pearls. She hoarded them like a dragon hoards it's gold. If I didn't know what she was in her last life i might have thought she was a dragon.

The thought of how she lived in her past life sobers any fantasy that might have occurred. I don't want her to experience that again.

Shaking my head to clear my thoughts I continue with my work. I used to love spending time in my office when I was in the company but since my wife started working two office rooms from me, I get jittery with adrenaline at the thought of sneaking around with her in the office.

"Stephanie, can you tell me when my wife gets out for her office. I need to have lunch with her. "

She chuckles and says it's no problem.

Stephanie is an executive reception/ secretary. She used to have a crush on me but since she found out I was married, might I add happily married in this case, she has maintained a professional distance and even gets along with Kim.

Thirty minutes go by before I quit fooling myself and go check on my wife.

When I'm almost to her door, Killian walks out of her office grinning. He has a piece of paper that oddly looks like a drawing that Kim showed me last night.

"Tell Kimberly I'll be waiting for a repeat very soon." he whistles a happy tune after passing me.

Without answering him I rush in to Kim's office only to find her crumbled on the floor with her hands clawing at her throat. Her eyes are open but unseeing.

after regaining my composure I shout her name and gently shake her.

Blood is caked under her fingernails and when I went to remove them from her throat she almost took my eye out.

Taking out my phone I dial the emergency line and I'm told they will be here In five minutes.

I stay here whispering nonsense in her ear trying to calm her down. it works until I stop. The moment I stop she claws again.

Stephanie leads the paramedics to Kim's office and when they see the state she is in when I stop talking to her they become weary of her.

"I'm sorry sir but the only way to safely move her is if she is sedated. " one of the medics said. I nod and when it all done, Kim is wheeled into an ambulance helicopter for treatment when I see Killian. He is smirking like all of this is amusing. the moment she is well, I'm going to go after my brother for what he has. He touched my wife, he loses a limb that touched her.
