Nyx

I stared wide-eyed at the white fur sticking out of my shins. I had felt a tingling sensation but brushed it aside, not wanting to deal with anything other than crying my heart out. I rubbed the fur. It was smooth and soft, but I wasn't in the mood to enjoy the feeling. If anything, panic twisted in my chest.

Not now, moon goddess. I have no emotional bandwidth left. I was still dealing with the fact that Sybil had gone from being my roommate for a week to being nonexistent, and now this?

  • Rejected and Marked by the Lycan Prince    A Vrosk

NyxI dropped the plant immediately and stood up. I shifted my gaze to the women who were quick to fix their expressions. “What was that?” I asked, stepping away from soil spilled on the floor.Nessa came up beside me and led me to the middle of the living room. “What is your name?”“Nyx.” I sat down on the couch, palms pressed to my thighs.“Hello, Nyx. I’m Vanessa. You can call me Nessa. And this is my grandmother, Solene.” She gestured to the woman standing beside her. “She has been the one tending to you.”Solene looked like she regretted helping me. Then her eyes dropped to my neck. The mark. I instinctively lifted my hand to touch the spot, and the mark throbbed lightly. My thoughts immediately drifted to Kyrell. Was he searching for me? What if he thought I was dead?“Do you remember how you ended up at the river bed?” Nessa asked.River bed? I thought I landed on rocks. Back then, all I wanted to do was kill myself before the flames did. I didn’t want to give Mira the satisfac

  • Rejected and Marked by the Lycan Prince    Far from harmless

NyxShe called me her child? Before I could ask the wailing woman who she was, the darkness disappeared and I was back in the cave. This time I didn't care about the flames; my mind was occupied by what that voice had said. She couldn't possibly be my mother. My mother was dead.I didn't realize I hadn't started running from the flames. If anything, I was standing in them. But what confused and surprised me was how I wasn't feeling any pain from the fire. I turned around and started walking into the flames. The further I walked, the more I wanted to. It was as if the fire was calling out to me, as if it needed me to embrace it instead of running away from it.I continued walking until I was in the middle of the fire, the heat feeling like a warmth I never knew I needed. Then the darkness came. For the first time, I was reluctant to embrace it.Light pushed into my eyelids, forcing me to open them. I had to blink several times before I could adjust to the brightness. I found myself in

  • Rejected and Marked by the Lycan Prince    Trapped in the flames

NyxI heard the voices again. I had stopped trying to understand what they were saying. But this time, the muffled voices slowly broke through the darkness.“Still nothing,” a younger voice said. “It’s been days. What if she never comes out of it?”“Maybe that would be better. At least Vrosk wouldn’t be able to get to her.” This voice sounded older.“But the Vrosk didn’t do this to her. One of her kind did,” the younger voice said.“And what is her kind?” I could feel the question hanging in the air between them. The thick scent of herbs drifted over me, mixed with smoke and something else I couldn’t name.Again, I tried to open my eyes, to move from the flat, unyielding surface pressing into my shoulder blades and the backs of my legs. I could feel a hand pressed against my chest each time I dragged out of the darkness. But I couldn’t move, speak, or open my eyes.“We have done everything we can for her. It’s up to her to wake up.” I wanted to reply. To say that I was trying to.Anot

  • Rejected and Marked by the Lycan Prince    Disappointed

Third person POVFor a moment, the only sound in the hospital room was the steady beeping of the bedside monitor. Kyrell ignored Calix’s outburst and faced the pack doctor.“What is wrong with her?” Kyrell asked. The doctor straightened. “We’ve conducted several tests, but so far, we haven’t been able to identify what’s causing her condition. Her wolf seems to be unresponsive as well. I’m afraid we don’t have a diagnosis yet. I assure you we’re doing everything we can to save her, Alpha.”Kyrell furrowed his brow and nodded in response. The doctor left the room, and the nurses fell into step behind him.Calix’s voice cut through the silence. “You’re really going to stand there and act like you don’t know who’s responsible for her condition?” Calix’s jaw hardened as he glared at the man across from him.Kyrell ignored him and proceeded to type something into his phone.“Don’t you care about her at all? Your Luna is currently fighting for her life, and you’re not doing anything about it

  • Rejected and Marked by the Lycan Prince    She looked lifeless

Third person POV After Kyrell got off the phone, he went to his bedroom to take a shower. While getting dressed, he kept trying to reach Nyx by calling and mind-linking her, but there was no response. He concentrated on the bond, hoping for the faintest tug, but all he felt was a void. When he was done getting dressed, he got a call from Samiel. He wasn't surprised Samiel had gotten there in no distant time. Kyrell brushed every negative thought aside as his beta spoke at the other end.“Alpha, we've searched everywhere. There's no sign of her. Our hunters tracked her scent to the woods and found nothing but traces of blood and a burnt bush,” Samiel said over the phone.Kyrell had hoped, for his sanity, that Cullen was bluffing. The possibility of Cullen's words being true made Kyrell want to kill him all over again. “Keep searching until you find her. And don't report to me if you haven't.” Kyrell ended the call, jaw clenched.Nyx was still upset with him for leaving her, so she had

  • Rejected and Marked by the Lycan Prince    The last bargain

Third person POVKyrell got to the Quicksilver pack by midnight. His beta was already waiting for him in front of the packhouse, two guards standing behind him. The car barely came to a stop before Kyrell got down.“How did this happen?” Kyrell kept his voice even, but Samiel couldn't help taking a step back.“It's the Luna, Alpha. She said you told her to wait for you in your villa.” Samiel's grip on the tablet tightened. “I knew nothing of her plan to get to the underground prison.” Samiel knew that wasn't an excuse. He was supposed to keep an eye on Cullen while Kyrell was away, and he did. What he never expected was for Vesper to cut her stay in the Nightclaw pack short and demand the keys to the villa the moment she got back, or for her to free Cullen from the prison.“You know no one is allowed to go to my villa, Samiel.” Kyrell clenched his fist and approached his beta in slow steps. “Yet you gave Vesper the keys the moment she demanded them. You didn't think it wise to inform

NyxIt's been two days since I got slammed against the wall, but the students won't stop laughing and whispering as I walk to my locker. It doesn't matter if I'm the Beta's daughter or human. Teenagers can be assholes, especially werewolves who believe strength is everything."Hey girl." Mira waves

  • Rejected and Marked by the Lycan Prince    Fated Mate

Nyx povIs there a limit to the weird things that can happen to me? Moon goddess, just give me a break already. Something about this man sends chills down my skin, and I'm not about to stand here and find out what that is. I dust off my soiled dress and turn to leave."Who touched you?" His deep ba

  • Rejected and Marked by the Lycan Prince    The man in the woods

Nyx I thought I was running but I wasn't. My head was bleeding but I felt the pain in my feet. I found my way to the woods at the back of the school, half falling and walking. The trees shielded me from prying eyes.My mind drifted back to the gold pair of eyes I saw earlier. Or was I imagining th

  • Rejected and Marked by the Lycan Prince    Gold Eyes

Nyx PovA cold breeze splashed against my face, combing my hair in different directions as I ran as fast as my legs allowed. The beast chasing me wasn't moving like a normal wolf, more like a man in beastly form. Its hinds thumped heavily on the ground. I could feel the vibration beneath my feet. O
