Minsi

“Sweetheart, you don’t have to tell me if you don’t feel like it.” He wiped the tear that fell from my pitiful eye. I felt scared to tell him anything about me. But he needed to know who the person he was living with was. I took a long breath and decided to give it a shot. If he rejects me, too, then I won’t pester him to keep me. I’ll leave and go wherever the hell I was written to be.

And so I told him everything that he needed to know, not leaving anything out. And when I was done, his eyes shone with rage. He got up and started pacing. “Those people didn’t deserve you, Minsi. Bunch of pieces of shit!” He kicked the table, and its leg broke instantly. 

“Anyone who thinks you are unworthy because of your size must be too blind to see just how beautiful you are. I hate that they fed you that nonsense since you were young. That this whole time you were living with that pain. Fuck!” He tugged his hair. 

“I used to hate Duke Wolfhart, but now I loathe him. How dare he treat you like that? I wish to strangle him to death, Minsi. Every person who wronged you.” 

This whole time, I was silently tearing up as he paced around in rage. His words were like the cure I never thought I’d find. It was soothing and mending something inside me. Something that was utterly shattered. Ace didn’t care about my size at all. He didn’t see me as different from any other woman. He was angry that those people did that to me. He was angry for me. What have I done in life to deserve him?

I couldn’t help but cover my face and began to sob, audibly. “Oh no, sweetheart. They don’t even deserve your tears.” He sat beside me again and took me in his arms. I buried my face on his neck and cried. He patted my back gently, “I’m sorry, sweetheart. Sorry for everything that happened to you. I’m glad that I found you.” He uttered, kissing my head.

He had no idea how grateful I was that he found me. I was grateful to the Moon Goddess for sending this man into my life. “Go ahead and cry all you want. Let it all out today. But promise me that this will be the last. Promise me that you will never cry over this again. Do you promise, sweetheart?” I nodded against his neck.

And I cried and cried while he held me and told me how worthy I am and that my body should never be the reason for me to feel uncomfortable around anyone. He said he preferred women like me because he would probably break a woman smaller than me. I couldn’t help but laugh.

He cupped my face and made me face him. 

“You are perfect just the way you are, sweetheart. And you were made specifically for me. And I’m fine with you however you are so forget about everybody else. From now on, I need you to live your life like a normal person and never degrade yourself. Okay?”

“Okay,” 

“Can you do that for me, sweetheart?”

“Yeah.”

He leaned down and kissed my cheek, making them drown with heat. “I’m happy that you are mine, sweetheart.” He uttered, and I rested my head on his shoulder, feeling the most peaceful I’d ever felt. Was it possible to like someone in a day?

Ace told me about his family as well while I was still in his arms. And it felt so natural and nice, as if we’ve been doing it for ages. His mother died while giving birth to his younger sister, Rachel, whom I had yet to meet. And his father died of old age, his time was up. So now it was the two of them. But they were not living together. Rachel moved out when she turned eighteen, and he bought her an apartment somewhere in Mistwood. But he said she could just appear here anytime she liked because she still had her bedroom full of her things on the top floor.

Despite being an Alpha of a powerful pack, Ace owned a vehicle company. And he has buyers and customers all around the world. I don’t even know where that was because I have only been in Maplewood since I was born. The place that stuffed me with suffocation and nothing else.  Being in Mistwood was like a breath of fresh air.

“Why is no one else around?” I blurted. I hadn’t seen another soul apart from him since I woke up. Back in Maplewood, the pack house was filled with people at any time of the day. It was like a brothel if you asked me because people fucked everywhere, too. One time, I caught people fucking in the kitchen in the morning while I was about to make breakfast. They were stark naked.

“Oh, this is my personal house, so people rarely come here. Everything concerning the pack happens at the pack house. Only my maids come here to cook and clean and then leave.” He explained. I nodded, “Ah,” This was new to me, but I liked it. The thought of us having a place only for ourselves made me feel peaceful and comfortable. 

“I’ll take you to meet everyone tomorrow. They all can’t wait to see you, sweetheart.” He said excitedly. “Do you think they would like me?” I regretted those words the second they left my mouth. “Minsi, sweetheart, if I was able to like you from the moment I first saw you, they are going to get swooned by you.” He winked at me, smiling from ear to ear.

I blinked hard, my cheeks started to heat all over again, and my heart danced in my chest. Did he just confess to me?
