Sydney's POV

He didn't put me down. Instead, the man kissed my collarbone and gave it a light lick. "What's wrong?" he asked.

I almost caved in but I managed to stand my ground. Or at least hug my ground in this case. "I don't want to proceed."

The frown that creased his forehead would have changed my mind in a matter of seconds but the scene replaying in my mind was against that. Kicking at his waist, I wished he'd let me go already. I didn't wish to cry in front of him and my eyelids could barely keep the tears back.

"Tell me what's wrong, Sydney." Sounded more like an order.

"You rejected me. The last time we were this close to something, you rejected me. Remember?" I blurted out.

Sighing, he let me go. Gathering my clothes — both the torn and whole — I ran as fast as I could as tear droplets let loose on my face.

Will there be an update on this book or has the writer abandoned it. I honestly feel that readers should be reimbursed for unfinished books when they’ve paid for chapters, it’s under the belief that we will follow the journey to completion that we start.

And it looks like it’s not being fixed. Wonder if the writer gave up on this book, she hasn’t commented on the mistake.
