Chapter 1

Ruby used to live in Rose Hills. She was best friends with Wolf, Sam and her cousin Scarlett. Everything changed when her mother and father divorced. Ruby was in fourth grade and her mother decided to pack them up along with her sister Cerise and move to New York for a fresh start.

Ruby was heartbroken but so were her friends, especially Wolf. He had always loved Ruby and on the day she left, he kissed her when no one was looking. It was the first kiss for both of them.

"Promise you wont forget me, Wolfie?" she pleaded.

"How could I forget you, Rubes?" he asked and she smiled. He truly meant it at the time.

All of them texted, emailed and messaged each other constantly in the weeks and months that followed but eventually, it dwindled off. Ruby made new friends in New York. Sam became a jock, Scarlett became a popular girl and Wolf became a member of the Riders of Fenrir. His father was the leader after all. Sam became a self centered player. Wolf became dark and ruthless. Gone were the two sweet boys that Scarlett and Ruby knew. Scarlett transformed in a cold hearted, cruel girl, at least that's what she let everyone think. By the time the end of sophomore year rolled around, none of them spoke very often. Scarlett, Wolf and Sam would all say hi in the halls and they were still friendly with each other but they hadn't hung out together in years.

Scarlett was the only one who still communicated with Ruby. They still talked often. For Scarlett, Ruby was the one of the few people that she could still let her guard down with. Ruby adored her cousin and they would do anything for each other. They still visit each other regularly and Scarlett was a bridesmaid along with Cerise and Cassy when Cherry (Ruby's mother) married Silvia (Cassy's mother) last year.

Scarlett had hit it off with Ruby's new stepsister, Cassy as well. Cassy and Ruby became best friends while their mothers were dating and were overjoyed to live together as sisters. Cerise was happy as well but had moved to California for college by that point.

POV Scarlett

I smiled when I looked at my phone to see that Ruby was calling. I wouldn't have to pretend for at least a few moments. I savored the time with her since it was only then that I could truely be myself

Scarlett: Dear cousin, how are you?

Ruby: I'm great! I have news.

Scarlett: Ohh. Tea! Spill!

Ruby: Guess who's moving back to Rose Hills?

Scarlett: Really? Please tell me that you aren't playing a cruel joke on me.

Ruby: Yep. Mom and Sil told us today. I'm excited but Cassy is nervous.

Scarlett: YAY! Tell Cassy not to worry. I'll make sure that everyone is nice to her.

Ruby: That's what I told her! I also told her that Sam and Wolf would love her. I can't wait to see everyone. Of course, I'm still pissed that they ghosted me.

Scarlett: Remember what I told you, the boys aren't the same as when you left

Ruby: I remember. I'm sure that its just an act, just like you.

Scarlett: Maybe but I doubt it. When will you be here?

Ruby: Next week. Thursday. Right before school starts.

Scarlett: I'm so happy. Junior year with my girls! I'll see you soon!

Ruby: Bye, Scar. Love you

Scarlett: Love you too.

I grinned as I hung up. I was so relieved to have my cousin coming back. She was my best friend and I loved her dearly. I just hoped that she was happy here. Rose Hilss was quite a change from New York and it wasn't the same town that she left.

I briefly wondered if I should give the guys a heads up that she was coming but decided against it. If they had bothered to keep in touch with Ruby, they would have already known. I knew that Ruby was hurt when they stopped responding to her messages, calls and emails.

I shook my head, they better not mess this up. I've been waiting for years to have my best friend back and I was prepared to hurt anyone who bothered her. I quickly called the only other person in Rose Hills that I trusted.

"Don, can you come over? I have to talk." I asked and he agreed to meet me at my place in a few.

I pulled him in the door before he could even knock.

"What's going on?" he asked, alarmed.

"Ruby is moving back here with Cassy!" I announced with a grin. He smiled too.

"I'll finally get to meet her?" he asked and I nodded. Don moved here in eighth grade. He had some trouble with bullies and I quickly put an end to that. I was not about to let homophobic assholes ruin my school or hurt any of my class mates. He and I became friends right away and fully supported me when I came out freshman year.

"When will she be here?" he asked.

"Next Thursday." I replied.

"We should do something to welcome her and Cassy." Don began.

"Yes! A party! We could have it here. My parents will be out of town and wouldn't care anyway." I suggested. I thought for a moment.

"Let's not tell anyone about Ruby and Cassy though. Just say that we have a surprise for the upcoming school year." I continued. I didn't want Wolf or Sam to know that she was coming. I was pissed that they had neglected her and I wanted to get a bit of revenge on Ruby's behalf.

"Let me call her and get her approval." I said. I dialed Ruby and explained our plan. Surprisingly, she agreed to all of it. That's when it hit me, she wasn't the same either. She had told me all about the parties and clubs that she and Cassy frequented but I hadn't really believed her. Now, hearing her excitement about a wild party, I began to understand. I smiled. Ruby, Cassy, Don and I were going to own this school this year. This was going to be fun.

POV Ruby

"Welcome to Rose Hills!" my mom called from the drivers seat as we drove past the old Rose Hills sign. Cassy and I looked out our windows as I pointed out The Spot diner and the drive in to her. She sighed.

"Come on, C. I know that its a big change but at least we're together, and Scarlett's here." I added and she nodded.

"I know. I'm just not great with small towns. I'm sure that everyone here will believe all the rumors and think that I'm a ditzy party girl." she explained. I shrugged.

"So? If that's true then they'll think the same about me. I was with you when all those rumors started. I don't care. Scar knows us and loves us. We have her and each other. We have our awesome moms. That's all we need." I reason and she brightens.

"You're right. I guess that I'm just worried that I'm going to get bored here." she replied and I laughed.

"Yeah. This town is a bit dull but now were here to shake it up. We'll make this town fun!" I encouraged.

"Not too much fun." Silvia warned.

"I dont want to have to bail you two out of jail again." Mom added.

"That happened ONE time and that guy grabbed C. What was I supposed to do? Not punch him?" I defended and they both sighed. I knew that deep down, they were both proud that I stood up for C and I smiled.

"Here we are." Mom announced as we pulled up to a huge house.

"This is ours?" I asked in amazement. I knew that Silvia was rich and my mom wasn't too bad off either but this house was gigantic.

"Yep. The movers have already delivered everything. I know that you are going to want to go see Scarlett but let's have a family dinner at The Spot first. Just the four of us?" my mom suggested and we agreed.

"Ok. Go check out your rooms and freshen up and unpack a bit. Well leave in two hours." Silvia stated. C and I went to find our rooms. I was happy when we discovered that they were next to each other and even happier when I found that we each had our own bathroom. I love Cassy to death but sharing a bathroom with her was a trial.

I called Scar and let her know that we were here and explained that our Moms wanted a family dinner with just the four of us. She understood but made me promise that we would come over before the party the next day and hang out.

I unpacked most of my clothes and took a shower. As I got dressed, I thought about my old friends. I was secretly heartbroken when Sam and especially Wolf stopped contacting me. I knew that we all had our own lives but I truly thought that Wolf cared for me. My sadness had changed into anger over the years and I was now glad that I was back to get a bit of revenge. I heard a knock on my door and opened it to see Cassy standing there.

"Ready, Rube?" she asked.

"Lets go, C." I replied and we walked to the door arm in arm.

POV Wolf

Wolf was broken when Ruby left. Losing her changed him. As the years wore on, he became darker and cruel. He joined his Dad in the Riders of Fenrir and truly enjoyed the MC lifestyle. He liked the drinking and one night stands. He loved the chaos and the fighting. There was nothing better to him than making someone hurt. He was well known as the most ruthless member of the Riders though he tried to tone it down some at school.

"What are we up to tonight, boss?" Foxy asked. He looked at the dark haired girl who was going to be his next in command and shrugged.

"There's a northside party tomorrow. At Scarlett's house. We should check it out. The last blowout before school." Jackal suggested. Jackal, Foxy and Hound were Wolf's best friends and were MC through and through. Wolf grinned. Scarlett's partys were epic. Last time he went to one, he ended up getting in a fistfight with three guys and beating the crap out of them.

"Definitely. Scar's hot." Foxy agreed. It was a well known fact that Foxy had been trying to get with Scarlett since the Riders transferred to Rose Hills High sophomore year.

"So's her friend, Don." Hound added.

"Sounds good." Wolf agreed.

"Lets head to The Spot for dinner and then see what trouble we can kick up at the Den later" (The Den is the Riders of Fenrir's bar and Clubhouse) Wolf suggested and the rest agreed. They got ready and headed out on their bikes.

POV Sam

Sam felt hollow since Ruby had left. He distracted himself with football and girls and had earned himself quite a reputation. He didnt mind though, in fact, he was proud of his fuckboi status. Being football captain had certainly helped him in that regard. He started playing guitar at the beginning of sophomore year just so he could get in with the arty and music chicks. It worked like a charm, too. They all bought his sensitive musician act, of course, until he dumped them after he had his fun.

"Bro, are you going to Scar's tomorrow night?" Pete asked as they changed after football practice.

"Of course!" he replied with a smile. At the last party at Scarlett's, he ended up having a three some with two freshmen girls in Scar's parents room.

"I'm starving. The Spot?" Chad asked. Chad and Pete were Sam's two best friends. They were on the football team together and all three had the same reputation.

"Definitely." Sam smirked. He shut his gym locker and they left the school.
