The cafe was thrown into a stunned silence, broken only by Daisy's ragged breaths and Thea's quiet sobs, her face still pressed to the cold, sticky floor.

Thea could feel the stares, the judgment, the whispers from the customers. She wished she could just vanish and disappear from this world.

All eyes, still reeling from the scene before them, turned towards the entrance as the door chimed once more.

A tall figure strode in, his presence earning gasps of both fear and surprise. What is a man of his caliber doing here?

It was Seth Blackwood.

Daisy gasped, her breath caught in her lungs. “Is that…” she muttered.

He moved with such ease, his piercing blue eyes sweeping over the scene. His gaze first landed on Thea, crumpled on the floor, her uniform stained, her face smeared with ice cream and to the awestruck faces of the customers.

His jaw tightened.

Thea groaned for the hundredth time that night; she couldn't sleep. The bedside clock showed it was very late. Outside, the city lights twinkled, but inside, the huge place felt quiet and empty. Thea was on her bed, restless. Maybe it's the coffee from earlier? She felt strange energy buzzing under her skin. Thea groaned, what was she thinking? Gulping down an entire mug of coffee late afternoon? Just great. Her throat felt dry but she had run out of water in her room. Maybe a glass of water, or two, would help flush her system. She got out of bed, pulled on a soft robe over her nightclothes and quietly left her suite, walking down the grand stairs to the kitchen. The penthouse was dimly lit, most of the lights off. As she got closer to the kitchen, she saw a soft glow coming from it. Were the staff still up by this time? Thea walked in and froze. Seth was there. He was standing by the large kitchen island, sipping from a glass of red wine. He was dressed simply, in a plain gre

Seth's eyes were fixed on the screen in front of him, reading through the annual reports for the company. His office was a huge space with large windows that looked out onto the bustling road of the city. His desk, made dark wood, stood in the center. A coat hanger on the left and a bookshelves on the left. A few decorative plants were in the office, Celine’s idea. She thought the office was too bland and boring, hoping some greenery would bring some life into the office and make Seth's day better. It didn't. Seth pulled off his glasses, massaging his brow with his fingers in slowly circular motions. It's been a long day and he's been going from one meeting to another. The cup of coffee he took was starting to wear out, he needed a break. He picked up his telecom, his fingers pushing in his assistant’s number.“Sir?” “Come to my office.” Seth dropped the telecom. He got out of his seat, walking towards the wall of glass behind his chair. He rolled up his sleeves, eyes fixed at the

“Runes is cheating on Posy?!” Daisy gasped, her voice louder than she had intended.Thea covers Daisy's mouth in panic, her eyes scanning the cafe. Luckily, no-one seemed to have heard her or paid any form of attention. Thea sighed, sinking back into her seat, thank goodness! It would be no fun if Posy finds out about this before her wedding.Daisy swallowed, her eyes still fixed on Thea in shock. “I'm so sorry. I was….are you sure?” She asked, her voice dropping into a whisper this time. Thea nodded, sipping her coffee, a smile playing on her lips. Daisy covers her mouth again. “I can't believe this. The Runes Sterling? How did you find out?” Thea took another glance around the cafe, she wanted to make sure Daisy would be able to handle the next shock. She shakes her head. “Maybe later.” Daisy's eyes widened. "Spill! I'm ready! I can take anything."Thea leans closer, dropping her voice in a low whisper. "I went to Zean school of business today. I wanted to submit my application

Mrs Harmony's gaze flickered up at Thea from the edge of her glasses and back to her screen where Thea's educational background is on full display.Thea is disgustingly educated, studied in the most prestigious university in the country and finished at the top of her class. No wonder everyone called her the golden child. Thea was sitting in a soft chair, across from Mrs. Harmony, a middle-aged woman with her grey hair neatly tied back, the dean of Zean School of Business. The office was quiet as she went through her application Thea felt a knot in her stomach. She knew her name, Thea Balmero, still had a bad mark on it because of all the public drama. She clenched her fist nervously under the table, she wouldn't be shocked if her application gets turned down due to the negative press she's been having. “Im so sorry there but I cant be late to that meeting!” Celine offered as Thea stepped out if the car. Celine had almost forgotten about a meeting she was meant to attend earlier that evening. “Its alright. I had a wonderful time with you.” “Me too my dear. I have to go. Send Seth my love.” “I will. Good luck woth your meeting.” “Darling, im going to need it! Take care.” Celine blew Thea a kiss before her driver drove out of the hotel at topmost speed. She must be really late for that meeting.Thea returned to the hotel suite, her skin glowing from the spa treatments. She felt so much better and she could think clearly now. Runes slammed his palm against his desk, the crack echoing through the office. His jaw was clenched so tight it ached. How the hell did that happen? After cheating on him, humiliating him in front of everyone, she gets married?! Runes ran his fingers through his hair, pacing his office. He chuckled, his hands trembling as he tried to pull himself together. Newsletters, blog posts, they had all addressed him with pity and concern, but it made him look pathetic, weak, and unable to keep a woman.“She dares to move on? Get married after what she did to tarnish my image?!” Thea was his. His to discard but not hers to move on from so easily, especially after the public disgrace she had brought upon their name. It made him look weak, a man whose ex-fiancée bounced back too quickly after he'd publicly cast her aside.Runes grabbed the telecom on his desk, his finger punching his assistant's line, furiously.“Yes sir?” Marcus responded almost immediately."Find out everything about Thea's
