Kiara’s POV

I watched as the day turned into noon, and noon turned into night, with the full moon flowing in all its glory, unshaken by the sight of anyone. Earlier today, I was forced to take a milk bath to prepare myself for Jason. He demanded that my skin be as silky as satin when he wants to mate with me. The thought of Jason being so hellbent and serious about taking me as his mate seemed like a joke. He rejected me in the past but wants me now because I have powers—he was here for nothing but his selfishness and greed.

A lady who would be in her mid-thirties walked into the room where I was held captive and suggested that I come along with her to have my pre-lunar preparations.

“Pre-lunar preparations?” I asked her confused because there is absolutely no need for all of that right now. I was being held captive, held like a slave against my own will and the last thing I want to do is to get prepped for Jason to Nate with me under the full moon.

“There is no need for that

  • Rise of the rejected Luna    Mortal

We all sat in a circle on the floor while we ate the meal Ismelida brought back. I watched Erina eat hurriedly, like she had been starved for months. Everything we discussed before Ismelida arrived still played in my head, all she had to go through because she wanted to be Jason’s mate so bad. “Calm down girl,” Ismelida said to her chuckling as she must have also noticed how fast Erina was downing her food. “Sorry,” Erina apologized shyly. With her hair done and her skin washed off dirt, I could see the Erina I used to know. The little girl who circled flowers and haunts down butterflies. I cannot believe she has been through so much, so many hurtful things. I had decided to put the past behind me, I had decided to let go of the pain she had caused me because in the end, she saved me from the grasp of Jason and brought me into the light of Brandon and Ryder. I have accepted her warmly and I will continue to look after her until she is herself again. It was a little close to mi

  • Rise of the rejected Luna    Voyage

“This will suit her perfectly,” I whispered holding a silk dress up. I have been hunting for a dress that would fit her as we do not wear the same size in clothes. Here I was, back to catering for Erina. Sighing I placed the dress on the bed, right in time as she stepped out of the bathroom. “How do you feel?” I asked her, genuinely concerned about her.“Better than I have been in a while,” she answered, providing me with a soft weary smile. “Here is your dress,” I said to her, handing her the hanger that contained the dress. “You can go into the bathroom to change. Oh, and here is a new pair of underwear,” I added. She collected them and said her thank yous before walking right back into the bathroom. I couldn’t help but notice the marks of whips that were on her back when she returned to the bathroom. Some of the marks were healed while some were fresh. What is going on with her? What the heck happened to Erina? My phone vibrated in my pocket distracting my mind from th

  • Rise of the rejected Luna    Abode or no?

“We have arrived,” I heard Ismelida’s voice announce as her fingers tapped me lightly on my thighs. I cannot remember the moment I fell asleep, my soul was lost in thought and that must have made my spirit weak. Tearing my eyes open, I figured we were packed in front of the garden. Of course, Ismelida would not know where the cottage is. “Sorry I fell asleep,” I whispered to her. But she shook her head disagreeing before she said, “You needed it. Now what turn do I make to the cottage?”Right the cottage. I looked back at Erina who was still sound asleep. “I guess she needed that sleep as well,” Ismelida said “Yeah, I guess so too,” I whispered once more. The energy in my soul has been drained, and the highly spirited self I have been trying to build is now reduced. Not because I am sad about Erina’s arrival, but it just hurts to see her this way. Pale and frail. I showed Ismelida the path to take, taking several rights and lefts. Driving down a narrow path before we were

“Hey, Kiara. Do you know her? Answer me!” Ismelida’s voice broke out, waking me up from my trance. I stared at Erina still on the ground. I remembered how she mocked me, how she laughed at my face, how she collected my mate and told me I deserve nothing but being a slave. Her actions from the past swept across my eyes. I remembered everything vividly. “Yes, I do,” I responded to Ismelida shallowly. “Who the heck is she?” Ismelida questioned with irritation laced in her voice. “My si.. She is my step-sister,” I replied to her. “Kiara, you had never called me that before. I am your sister, Kiara,” Erina said to me while crying much more than before. “Remember your words to be before I was sold out as a slave?” I questioned her angrily. She returned to bow her head once more and I said aloud, “Right, of course you will. After all, you are the smartest one.” I noticed a small crowd forming around us and I didn’t want anything escalating or any reports reaching Ryder or Bra

  • Rise of the rejected Luna    The sight to grief

Kiara’s POV “I will be out in two minutes,” Ismelida’s text notification came in alerting me to hasten up in preparing for the retreat. My mind has been distracted all day, reminiscing on what happened between Brandon and me. How perfect it felt and the next minute, he was back to giving me a cold shoulder. What is worse? I have not set my eyes on him since that night. It is time to move on to the next. He acted like nothing transpired between us, I could also do the same. “Get your head in the game,” I whispered to myself before I proceeded to pick up my glasses, my clutch, and my sunglasses. According to Ismelida, the retreat was an outdoor one and heck no do I agree to get my sight burnt out. “I am heading towards our usual spot,” I texted in reply after shutting the main entrance to the manor. I looked around one last time before I turned towards the direction leading to the garden. “Ouu, look who we have here,” Ismelida teased as I approached her spot on the bench. “W

  • Rise of the rejected Luna    Proclaim

Bradon’s POV Ryder has been claiming Kiara as his since we got her back from Jason’s captivity. Always calling her my queen, my Luna, my princess. Right in front of me not caring I am her mate as well, and also his Beta. I know Kiara being my mate won’t make her luna, but he does not have to rub it in each time by calling her his Luna. I met her first, I fell in love with her first, and I accepted her for who she really is right before he even got the chance to look at her path. I owned her first. My wolf has been angry, jealous, and annoyed. It seemed like they were building a connection without me. It felt like they did not care if I was around any longer, they just acted like I was non-existent. At dinner days ago when I left angrily, I heard the conversation between Ryder and Kiara. I heard she wanted to come along immediately after I left to check up on me which softened my heart, but Ryder asked her to sit right back. And she just obeyed? That annoyed me more. I know Ryder
