“Alya, kanina ka pa ba nandito? Marami nang bisita sa bulwagan. Hinahanap ka na rin ni Father.”

I turned and saw Sister Elma behind me. She wore the long habit of a nun, the veil carefully covering her hair, and a rosary resting near her heart.

I smiled.

“Susunod na po ako, Sister. Nagpahangin lang po.”

She nodded and left.

I stood from where I was sitting and looked at the sea. The wind wrapped around me like an embrace, sending chills through my body.

Huminga ako ng malalim, I walked toward the hall beside the church.

Masaya ngayon sa isla. It was the first day of the fiesta, and everyone was celebrating.

Luxury cars were parked in front of the church, vehicles that people here rarely saw.

Lumiko ako at nagtungo sa hall. It was beside the church, half the size of the chapel, built with wood but designed like a Spanish house.

Pumasok ako sa loob. The room was filled with people—local officials, businessmen, and the visitors everyone had been talking about. For a moment, I felt out of place.

“Alya! Mabuti naman at pumasok ka na,” Father said warmly. Kasama niya ang kababata kong si Zar.

“Nasa dalampasigan lang po ako, Father,” I explained.

Father chuckled. “Kakauwi mo lang hija, pero mukhang naakit ka na naman ng dagat.”

“Gusto ko lang pong mapag-isa sandali.”

“Nako, Father,” Zar teased, placing his arm around my shoulder. “Baka may katagpo na si Alya!”

Father laughed loudly but soon looked at me seriously.

“Bawal yan, Alya. Alam mo yan.”

Those words struck me deeply.

Bawal yan.

I knew exactly what he meant. I was not meant to love the way other women did. My life was meant for God. Alam ko at tanggap ko.

“Father Edwardo.”

A deep male voice called from behind him.

My chest tightened instantly.

Nilingon ito ni Father. “Mr. Villareal, mabuti at maaga kayong nakarating.”

My heart began pounding.

“May gusto akong ipakilala.”

My feet suddenly felt heavy.

“This is Mayor Edmond Alcantara’s daughter, Alyra Lucrezia.”

I forced myself to smile.

But my smile disappeared the moment I saw him.

Three powerful men stood in front of us.

And among them—

Cameron Villareal.

He wore a black tuxedo, standing tall and intimidating. His dark eyes were fixed on me, cold and dangerous.

Memories rushed back all at once. Pain. Anger. Betrayal. For months I had run away from him.

Yet here he was.

“Bumati ka, Alya—”

Nanlamig ako.

“I-I’m sorry… I need to go.”

Before Father could stop me, I pulled my arm away and rushed out of the hall.

I needed to leave. I needed to breathe. Hindi ako nagkakamali sa aking nakita, it's really him!

I ran toward the beach behind the church, tears blurring my vision.

I thought I was safe.

Until someone suddenly grabbed me and pinned me against a coconut tree.

“You’re not running away again, Alya.”

My breath stopped.

Cameron.

He trapped me between his arms, his face dangerously close to mine.

“Let go,” I whispered.

His eyes burned with anger.

“You left without a word. No call. No message. I thought you were just busy serving… until I found out you ran away!” he angrily stated. His voice was firm and cold indicating how dead serious he was.

Bakit parang siya pa ang galit ngayon? Na para bang siya ang nasaktan? Siya ang sinaktan?

"A month of not seeing you is—"

What is he even talking about?

I laughed bitterly. See me for what?

"For what? For what Cameron?! Let's just get to the point! For what?! Because I am sure that it is not what I am thinking! It is not what I am expecting!" I broke down.

I know exactly what he’s doing right now. Anong akala niya sa akin, tanga? He may be powerful and intelligent, but I’m not blind. I will never make the same mistake again.

And now he’s acting like he’s scared of losing me? Like he loved me…

Because that will never happen, Alya.

His hand suddenly touched my cheek.

“You’re after something,” I said coldly.

“What something?”

Before I could react, his hand slid inside my shirt.

“Cameron!”

He caught my wrist nang umakma akong pigilan siya and pinned it above my head.

My heart pounded wildly as his touch sent shivers through my body. His lips brushed my neck, making me tremble despite the anger inside me.

But when he kissed me, all the emotions I tried to bury began to collapse.

His hand found my chest, he scope my boobs and massage it lustfully. I can't stop myself from moaning loud.

Nine months being away from him.

And I hated that I still remembered how he felt.

His lips climb in my jaw. I even tried to shift my face just to catch his kisses. However, it ascended towards my ears and he stop there.

“Do you miss me?” he whispered near my ear.

I bit my lip to stop myself from answering.

I went insane when his hand on chest, arrogantly slid down on my long skirt. My eyes almost choked. His hand touch my v-card, I feel how ashamed I am when he did not move his fingers.

"Of course, you do." He chuckled and kissed my ears.

I was about to complain when he moved his face and kissed me torridly.

His kisses meant something, his lips seemed eager to meet mine. It's almost nine months of being away from him and I missed this, I miss his lips— all of him.

“Cameron,” I whispered helplessly.

I felt how his finger moved down there. My legs went jelly because of the sudden sensation I am feeling inside. Cameron held my waist steadily.

“You’re not running away again,” he murmured.

I sway my hips para masabayan ang kamay niyang nasa aking ibaba. This is making me crazy and I like it so much! I did not get what he said because I’m still busy grinding on his fingers.

"Ah!" I moaned.

This had to be the last time.

I could never let my life cross his again.

But deep inside, I knew something had already changed.

Because Cameron Villareal had returned.

And my peaceful life on this island— was about to end.

I feel like I am being watched. Knowing that he knows I am outside the church is alarming. And how on earth did he know my number? Hindi ko naman binigay. My fingers tightened around my phone as I stared at the message again. It was simple. But it was enough to make my chest feel uneasy.Slowly, I lifted my head and glanced at the glass window beside our seats. The street outside was busy—people walking, cars passing, groups of friends laughing while carrying shopping bags. Everything looked normal.Just normal.Yet the strange feeling remained. It's been 3 days since that day happened, after the heated encounter with him akala ko wala na. Tatlong araw siyang hindi nag paramdam, I thought I can finally have my peace and I could finally forget. But I don't think I can?“Alya?”Napalingon ako kay Jade. She was looking at me with curiosity while the staff continued working on her

"Sumama ka sa kanilang lumabas Alya, make time for yourselves. Mamili kayo at kumain sa labas," sabi ni Sister Esther. Ngumiti ako sa kanya."I'm fine, Sister Esther. Sila nalang po, tutulong nalang po ako sa mga bata—"Before I could finish my words she cut me off. "Alya, you're not here to isolate yourself. Try something new, yung alam mong tama, yung alam mong hindi mali sa mata ng diyos. It's not bad to have fun unless you're doing bad behind our saviours back."I looked down after hearing her sentiments. I am not isolating my self but rather I am protecting it. Alam kong may nagawa akong mali. I was sitting in front of Sister Esther. Nandito kami sa kanyang opisina. She made me come here para ipaalam na lalabas ng simbahan ang aking mga kasamahan at gagala. Gusto ni Sister na sumama ako. I want to go but I am afraid."Hindi naman po sa ganoon Sister. I just feel like I need to help,""We don't need this time, Alya. Bumalik ka sa'yong silid at mag bihis. Sasama ka sa kanila," S

Now what should I do?I continued walking toward the storage room behind the refectory, trying my best to ignore the sound of Cameron’s footsteps following behind me. My grip on the box had already disappeared since he took it from me, but the irritation remained. I could still hear my own voice from earlier, the sharp words that slipped out of my mouth without thinking.“Edi ayan! Sayo na! Isaksak mo sa baga mo!”Napapikit ako sandali habang naglalakad. That was so rude. I rarely spoke like that to anyone, especially here inside the church grounds. Pero kasalanan din naman niya. Bigla nalang siyang lumapit at nang-agaw. Marami pa naman ang nandoon sa parlour. The storage room door creaked softly when I pushed it open. The room was quiet and slightly dim, lit only by the small window near the ceiling. Wooden shelves filled the walls, stacked with canned goods, rice sacks, and boxes of supplies for the feeding program. It smelled faintly of cardboard and stored food.I stepped inside a

The moment I stepped out of the refectory, I felt like I could finally breathe again. My chest had been tight the entire time I was inside. I forced myself to eat ngumiti kay Jade and act like nothing was wrong, but the truth was I could feel his eyes on me the whole time. I didn’t need to look back to know that he was watching. Just the thought of Cameron being in the same room as me made my stomach twist in a way I couldn’t explain.I walked faster across the courtyard, clutching the edge of my veil. The sunlight was already bright, and the church grounds were slowly becoming busy again. Some visitors were entering the chapel to pray and wait for the second mass while others were leaving after the first mass. Everything looked normal. Peaceful. The same quiet place I had always known. I tried to calm myself as I headed toward the convent building. My steps slowed down when I reached the shaded pathway beside the garden. Dito ako dumadaan

  • SACRILEGE OF DESIRE: The Sinner and Sovereign    CHAPTER THREE

I barely slept that night.Even after the cold shower, even after kneeling beside my bed and whispering prayers again and again, my mind refused to rest. Every time I closed my eyes, the memories came back—the music, the alcohol, his hands, his voice.I pressed my eyes shut and shook my head.“Stop,” I whispered to myself.I shouldn’t think about him anymore. A moment of weakness. Something that should never happen again. I should ask for forgiveness. But how? Ayaw kong ikumpisal ang nangyari, natatakot ako. I don't want anyone to know what happened. But still, the only place I knew where I could find peace was the church. So the next morning, I woke up earlier than usual and went straight to the chapel. The air inside was cool and quiet. The soft light from the stained glass windows painted colors across the floor. Marami ng tao ang nakaupo sa loob. This place has always calmed me. "Alya, m

  • SACRILEGE OF DESIRE: The Sinner and Sovereign    CHAPTER TWO

Morning light slipped quietly through the thin curtains.I stirred when the sunlight touched my face. My head felt heavy, my body strangely warm beneath the soft sheets. For a moment, I couldn’t remember where she was. Or what happened, ang naalala ko lang ay dinala ako ni Jamaica sa isang club and left me there. I moved, still eyes closed. Pinakiramdaman ko ang paligid. However, I realized someone’s arm was wrapped around my waist. My eyes opened instantly. Kinabahan agad ako. Slowly and carefully I turned my head.Beside me was a man! Bigla akong napaatras sa kinahihigaan. Tinitigan ko siya. He's sleeping soundly. His dark hair was slightly messy, his face relaxed in a way I hadn’t seen before. One arm rested lazily around me like it belonged there. His features are perfect, he has a soft oval face with a clear and smooth look. His eyebrows are thick, giving his face a strong expression. He has a straight and well-defined nose bridge that fits well with his facial shape. His lip
