It happened when I least expected it.
I was curled up on the back seat of Connor's car, my head a total mess as I tried to pull myself away from my reality even if it was going to be for just a second.
More than anything, I needed to catch my breath, and there was no way that was going to happen with me still stuck in my current reality.
"Are you fine?" Connor asked from the driver's seat, the warmth in his voice doing nothing to distract me from the despair of the embarrassment I had just been subjected to.
"I need to go home," I mumbled under my breath, shutting my eyes to my world collapsing.
The engine of the car roared back back to life as Connor silently honored my wishes.
By the time we got to the Langford mansion, my head was full and my eyes were heavy like lead had been plugged over them.
I should have let the tears fall, but instead, I bit down on my teeth and sucked it all up.
"Thank you," I muttered to Connor who was still sitting in the driver's seat minutes after he had turned off the ignition.
"I'm sorry. I should have listened to your concern."
I had met Connor earlier, just before the moment that shrunk my reputation, when I almost went into the men's restroom.
In the chaotic state of my mind — at the fact that there was pole dancing on the order of events for the night, at the bulkiness of Connor's groin tight against the area of his zipper — I had managed to communicate my fears to him.
He told me not to worry.
He said Eddy wouldn't go that far.
The tears clogged over my eye lids pushed harder to be released, but sniffling it back in, I pushed the door of the car open to let myself out, dumping his jacket which was formerly wrapped around my waist on the back seat.
I heard Connor honk once as I hurriedly made my way towards the house. I didn't look back.
My entire body was stiff as I pressed my back against the door after I let myself in.
My breathing was jagged, inconsistent, as I stared into the space of the empty hallway that led to the main living room.
It felt like I was continuously crumbling under, and there was nothing I could do about it.
I could only think about one thing — Freddy, and the solace he provided. The hope that I still meant something.
My mind travelled up the stairs before my legs followed — hurriedly, desperately, because I was drowning and I needed urgent saving.
I didn't bother to knock before I pushed the door open, the voices in my head growing louder and killing me from the inside.
The room was empty, the hope that had grown inside of me crumbling like ice against fire.
"F*ck!" I breathed out loudly, my eyes roaming the space for an alternative.
The bed with the sheets dumped on them.
A hockey T-shirt laying carelessly against the header of the bed.
The top of the dressing table was surprisingly clean and empty.
The wardrobe — my gaze fell on the wardrobe and remained there.
My thoughts stormed against themselves in a chaotic jumble.
My feet moved, my hands right after.
It was easy to look through Freddy's clothes because they were quite few.
My fingers trailed against the suspended pile until they found his hoodie — the plain black one he would throw on whenever he felt too cold at midnight. I remembered it.
He doesn't send it to the laundry as often as he did the rest of his clothes, so it always had his scent.
My heart was thumping fast.
Squeezing it between my palms, I pressed it tight against my nose and inhaled the familiar sweaty, heavy, flowery chocolate scent I had missed so much.
A part of me began to bloom as I drew another long breath with my nostrils still wedged between the fabric.
A moan escaped my throat.
I thought about how Freddy looked at me when we were still together — like I was the most beautiful creature to ever exist, and I wished I could pull those moments into a capsule and send it to Eddy's desk.
At that moment, my legs began to feel numb, but I couldn't break the satisfaction of the moment.
Slowly, I pulled my weight back, careful to not crash into anything, until I was resting against the wall beside the dressing mirror, the sharp cold of the cement piercing through my bones.
I felt a thickness crawl down my thighs and I gasped, pushing my face more into the fabric and sniffling more rapidly.
A thought plucked against the back of my head.
Dumping Freddy's sweatshirt on the bed, I turned until I was standing in front of the dressing mirror, a distance perfect for the mirror to cover a reasonable part of my body closely.
Then, without thinking twice, I began to undress, and in a couple of minutes, I had the leather costume, my bra and under tights on the floor.
Then, slowly, I began to trace lines on my body.
Starting from my collar bone, my fingers trailed downwards, between my bulky bre*sts until the folds of my clit.
I gasped, allowing my head to fall while supporting it with my free arm from the back.
A feeling built up rapidly in the corner of my chest — an uncontrollable feeling of need that I just couldn't contain.
My palms moved to the full of my girls, and I grabbed as much as I could fit and massaged them slowly, feeling every move and shake as I continued.
My feet trembled against the floor and my rose twitched to every beat of my breathing, my effort to remember how it felt to feel wanted.
"F*ck!" I squeezed the puff of flesh harder, the pressure crashing against my n*pples to cause a slight pain, but I couldn't stop.
My thighs felt sticky. I crossed one leg over the other and grinded my thighs against themselves, feeling the heat waves in every inch of my body.
My stomach hollowed in and my throat tightened to the pleasure my body no longer knew how to contain.
My fingers found their way back between my thighs.
I dug harder, my lips trembling helplessly apart.
I had hit a spot that made me want to scream, but the click of the door into its lock overtook my voice.
I froze, my eyes darting to my right, where the door stood shut just like I had thought I left it.
Freddy?
A heavy string of thoughts rippled through my mind, every one of them hinting at an urgency that could not be overlooked.
I hurriedly picked my clothes off the floor and forced them back on, scampering towards the door.
GREGORYThe city stretched out in front of me as I gazed out of the window, the after taste of the white wine still lingering somewhere down my throat. My fingers stiffened against the glass wedged between them, still half filled. The loud thoughts I had carried carefully since the first day weighed in my chest.I grunted, clearing my throat loudly.I couldn't hold it down, but I couldn't even move forward with everything happening in my family at the moment.I knew I needed to be careful. There was the company, and the future of my sons.I knew it wasn't going to be easy. Maybe, Lola was a distraction that shouldn't even cross my mind, but I couldn't help it. Sighing, I clasped my fingers tighter around the glass, glaring hard at the landscape of the city. Lola's room was right next to mine, but what good does that even do me if I can't call her over.It just kept getting harder for me to sleep, especially with knowing she was inside, probably taking a bath or sprawled out n*ked on
FREDDYThrough practice, I couldn't stop thinking about Lola. Maybe because I knew she was watching me like old times, and it sparked feelings that ought to have stayed buried until forever.Through the banter between her, my father and Eddy, I couldn't care less. I just stayed at the parts of her body that weren't concealed under the jacket draped across her shoulders. As soon as I got the opportunity to ask, I took it, and of course, Lola couldn't say No to me.It was a little hard convincing my coach to allow me to stay outside the team house. By the time I had concluded with the boys, checked into a hotel room, got a shave and freshened up, time was far spent. As I scurried into the elevator for the fifth floor, I wondered if she was waiting up for me or perhaps, given up and gone to bed.But then, Eddy was there. I didn't expect him to be. I didn't turn back though. I hadn't made all of those arrangements to chicken out of his presence."You shouldn't have said that, Freddy. What
LOLAAnother knock broke out against my door — sharp, impatient. My breathing seized for a second."Freddy!" I muttered, clutching tight at the material initially hanging between my fingers. My eyes were watery from my own arousal, and I couldn't wait to finally be able to feel the emotions that remained unlocked in my heart. My cheeks burnt red. I was so embarrassed that I packed up the box and shoved them under the sheets.Adjusting the belt of my bath robe, I did a short breathing exercise to keep my voice firm.Clutching the knob of the door, I took one last deep breath before yanking it open.I gagged, my chest tightening to the sight in front of me. Not only did I not expect to see Eddy in front of my door by the time of the night, I was too fired up to handle whatever he had come to say.It was ridiculous, but I wondered if he was here because of what I said to him at the stadium, and I feared we might end up doing something we both would regret by morning."Hi, Eddy," my voice
LOLAWith my heart hammering hard against my chest, I hurried through the lonely path that led back to the stadium where the rest of the family ought to still be.I was sure practice had ended, and me missing right in that moment wouldn't look too good. The plan was to get there first, and then, Connor could come later.Standing before my father-in-law, all sweaty, my breathing giving away the fact that I had jogged all the way back, I thought of the best response to a question he had not even asked."We had been done for a while now. We were worried," Greg spoke, his eyes scanning every inch of my body in a way that felt rather uncomfortable.Struggling to keep my breathing steady and my shoulders up, I looked from my father-in-law to Eddy — his face was locked in an expression that told me just how much he wanted to say and how he was just waiting for the right time to come at me.Freddy was standing behind them, arms folded across his chest, skin glazed with sweat and his gaze send
CONNORI wasn't a hockey person. I loved playing and watching outdoor games, but not hockey. Any other thing can work, not just hockey. Nevertheless, I had travelled to Norway with the Langfords to support Eddy's younger brother's game which was upon request by the director. He had texted me about it, and because Lola was going too, I knew I had to be there.Eddy might be right. I was there because of his wife, but there was a continuation of that truth Eddy didn't bother to add.I was there because I wanted to make sure his wife was protected from him.Through the flight, I had noticed Lola's discomfort, but I didn't get the opportunity to ask her why even until we had to watch skating on the ice. When I became fed up pretending like I was enjoying the practice game, I excused myself and went in search of even greater fun."Miss what?" she asked, the tension in her voice breaking apart."Get here first," I urged, leaning against the closest wall to me."What did you say?" her voice
LOLAI was mostly to myself through the flight, my thoughts everywhere, and my body doing a good job staying calm despite the storm that brewed underneath my skin.It was a long journey. When we touched down at the Norway airport, I was too tired to even think straight, and I felt too sleepy. I couldn't wait to be ushered into our rooms, then take a long hot shower and hide under the blankets, away from the reality I could never actually ever run from. Then, my father in law's words delivered like a blow to my face, "We will watch his practice tonight.""What the heck!" Eddy blurted out, his voice rising above his usual beat."You heard me, Eddy," Mr. Greg shot at him, looking around to make sure nobody had any other objection.Eddy was obviously not comfortable with the plan. He sighed, tugging at his tie uncomfortably as he paced around the space in front of him.Connor, on the other hand, stood at a distance with his hands folded, and his face holding a solid neutral expression.I
FREDDYI stretched hard against the softness of the sheets with my jet black duvet in a dump against my body like it was casually abandoned there. My eyes were still shut but I could feel the slight warmth of the morning sun against my face."Don't shut your eyes. Watch me."Immediately, my eyes sl
FREDDYI turned sharply to the door, my body cold with a feeling I couldn't admit as fear. But Lola had dived off my body, swift, like she had been waiting for this moment. Then, she was at the door, but she didn't open it.She locked it.I watched her turn the lock intentionally, twice, the sound
CONNOR"Was that necessary?" I straightened my posture, turning to look at Eddy, my body stiff from anger I could not fully express - partly because it might end up stripping bare my secret feelings, Eddy could read through lines, and then, because I still wanted to respect my friend whose house I
FREDMONI turned endlessly on my bed, regretting why I had made the decision to come back to my family.I hated them. I didn't need them. I was doing well in Europe. They appreciate my music. I had a comfortable life, and I slept well.I was this close to booking a flight for the next morning, but
