Barbie's POV

After I woke up, I went for a run to help clear my mind.

The apartment was quiet when I returned from my run, the emptiness pressing against me in a way that almost felt like suffocation. For a moment, I thought about calling someone—maybe Jasper—but I was too tired. Not physically, but emotionally. My body was exhausted, sure, but my mind… my heart? That was another story entirely.

I stood there in the doorway, staring at the note Liam had left for me earlier, cus I was bored. His handwriting was messy, as usual, but somehow it made me smile. Out painting. I know you would miss me, but don't miss me too much. -L.

Typical Liam. Always leaving his mark, even in the smallest of ways. I could almost hear the sarcasm in his voice, but beneath it, I sensed a bit of warmth—something genuine, something I hadn’t expected.

With a small sigh, I dropped my bag on the couch and glanced around. It was strange to be in this space without the usual sounds of Liam’s music, Jasper’s rambl

Morning light crept through the blinds, casting thin golden lines across my wall. I hadn’t slept much, but for once, I didn’t feel like a total wreck. Maybe it was Liam’s words from last night, or maybe it was just the calm after the emotional storm. Either way, I sat up in bed, stretching slowly, feeling the stiffness in my bones from tossing and turning all night. I checked my phone. No new messages. Not from Ethan, not from Jasper. Just a text from Dolly. I opened the text message "I'm sorry I wasn't there for you, do you need me?"I quickly replied "not really, heart break doesn't work on me"She replied back too "don't believe you. We would meet at school tomorrow""sure" I turned off my phone. Dragging myself out of bed, I made my way to the kitchen. The apartment smelled faintly of paint and lavender dish soap. Liam’s doing, probably. There was a small plate of pancakes wrapped in foil on the counter, a sticky note on top: Don’t say I never do anything for you. Eat before you

Barbara "Barbie" Jones POV I am Barbara Jones, I have been dreaming of going to Harvard college for architecture. They are very selective when it comes to admission process, and you can't even buy your way in. I am smart, don't get me wrong but I applied a month ago and my application is still pending. Two weeks ago, one of my Uncles that works there contacted us and told us about a private school, Philips Academy (Andover) that is linked with Harvard and if I'm able to get good grades that I would be given admission in Harvard. So I am transferring there for my senior year I stared at my reflection, smoothing out the wrinkles on my dress. My mom, dad, and Uncle Stanley were all smiles, but I could sense the underlying tension. Today was the day I'd leave for Phillips Academy in Massachusetts. "Barbie, sweetie, you're going to do great things," my mom said, her voice trembling. I forced a smile, trying to reassure her. "I'll be fine, Mom. I promise." My dad cleared his thro

When I entered the dorm room, I was greeted by three guys lounging on the couch, engrossed in a heated gaming session. I cleared my throat, trying to get their attention. "Excuse me," I said, trying to sound assertive, but I couldn't get any of their attention. I then walked over to the TV and unplugged it, they then screamed "what the f**k" I succeeded in getting their attention "can you please get out of this place, and where are my roommates?" "roommates? this is our room, I think you were roomed with us" one of them said. "what! I was roomed with boys!!" I yelled. The guys exchanged skeptical glances, and one of them muttered under his breath, "Great, just what we need." I stood frozen in the doorway, my eyes scanning the room in horror. How could they do this to me? how can they room me with... boys. One of them, a tall, dark-haired guy with piercing blue eyes, stood up from the couch and walked towards me, a charming smile plastered on his face. "Hi, I'm Ethan," he

"won't you guys introduce yourselves to me?" I asked politely. "you've already lost your chance, cute face" the other guy said, and then went upstairs, to his room I guess. "I'm Ethan, and the guy said just left is Jasper, and the other rude one is Liam" the third guy introduced himself and his friends. I smiled at him " I am Barbara, you can call me Barbie" I also gave an introduction. "sure, let me show you to your room" he helped me with my luggages and led the way to my room, he also helped me to place them inside the room. Isn't he a gentleman? "if you need anything I'm just over there" he pointed at the door opposite mine. "sure, and thanks for helping" he smiled and then finally left, while I shut the door. I looked around my room, it was large I wouldn't lie, even though it isn't as large as mine back in LA. I arranged my things and took a shower, because I was feeling sticky. When I was done with taking a shower, I decided to take a little nap. I woke up to t

Liam and Ethan both went upstairs to get changed for the party while Jasper remained downstairs with me, as much as I hate to be. "so you coming beauty? but before you can come with me, you would have to put on a bikini" I glared at him, while he only laughed "what, I'm sure that there is a curve under those clothes of yours". He then came close to me an put my loose hair behind my ear and bent his ear to whisper in my ear "you have the most beautiful eyes, I want to drown myself in them" We heard someone clear their throat, then he pulled his face from my ear and smirked "I would've loved to spend more time with you beautiful, but I can't" "can you stop that Jasper, you're making me feel uncomfortable" Liam said putting on an irritated look, while Jasper only rolled his eyes. "let's go" Ethan said and then the rest followed him to leave the house. After they had left, I released the breath that I didn't know I was holding and sighed. My phone then started ringing, I picked

When I got outside I saw my chaffeur standing close to my car holding the door for me, as I was about to enter inside the car Liam got in and the chaffeur opened the other side of the car for me to get in. What the heck! "miss Jones can you please share your ride with mr Edwards here, until his ride is ready, that is within the week?" the chaffeur said politely. Now I remembered where I saw Liam from, his dad was my dad's friend, and he attended my father's birthday party with his dad. I smiled and said "of course". I then got inside the car. Liam looked at me and then frowned, "you should've asked Jasper for a ride, rather than staining my car seat, you jerk" I glared at him. "jerk? you are a hypocrite in that aspect, and did you think if I could I wouldn't?" he answered me while I scoffed. "a**hole" "jerk" "f**king idiot" "stupid bitch" I then decided not to reply him again, and the rest of the ride was silent. ************************************************** A

When I arrived back at the apartment, I soon started feeling hungry, yah! just f**k my life. I didn't see anyone around so I decided to use the opportunity to find something to eat. I went to the kitchen, placed my backpack on the kitchen counter and went to the fridge. I opened it and to my surprise, I saw a sandwich wrapped and placed neatly inside. I quickly got it out and unwrapped it. I also poured out some milk to use and flush it down. I sat down to eat it "looks like someone is hungry?" I looked behind me and I saw Jasper smirking at me. My eyes lingered to his lips, and I can't help but notice how pink and kissable they were. My cheeks then turned bright red, I was blushing. Seriously? I hate all these hormones! Soon I noticed his lips curl up into a smirk, and I blushed harder "I wonder what's going on in that silly head of yours" Jasper said, grabbing a banana from the fruit basket. I turned back to eat my food, what was wrong with me? I wondered. Why is my mind alwa

Today was another day of school, and my stupid alarm, woke me up from my place of comfort. I grudgingly got up from the bed and took a shower. I dressed up in my uniform, arranged my bag, and I was ready for school. I went downstairs and to my surprise I saw my breakfast kept neatly on the table. I smiled and sat down to eat it "imagine if the food was poisoned" I heard Ethan say from behind me. "then the three of you would be sued for murdering me" I replied him, while he chuckled. "by the way, was it you who prepared it?" He scratched the back of his hair nervously, okay, why was he nervous? "uhm! yah, I thought that you might be hungry" I smiled at him and said "thanks" he only nodded and sat down to eat his own food. "uhm! where are the rest?" I asked because I haven't seen any of them, it isn't as if I want to. "Jasper has soccer practice, and Liam needed to do something, so they went together". I nodded at his reply, and we continued eating. After we were done with ha

  • SEDUCED BY MY ROOMMATES   CHAPTER 30

Ethan's POV I’ve never hated silence more in my life. It filled the car like smoke as I sat in the backseat of my mom’s SUV, the city lights flashing by like they were mocking me. She hadn’t said a word since we left the meeting with Zoe’s dad—not that I was eager to speak. What was I supposed to say? “Thanks for destroying my relationship, Mom. You really outdid yourself this time.” I mean that would be hilarious. She tapped her manicured fingers against the wheel, perfectly calm. “You should be grateful. This is the opportunity of a lifetime.” “Opportunity,” I muttered, staring out the window. “You mean a contract I never asked for with a girl I don’t want.” “Ethan, don’t be dramatic.” Her voice was sharp. “You want to take over a company someday? This is the fastest way to do it. The mayor trusts you. He likes you. And Zoe—” “I don’t love Zoe.” “You don’t have to love her. You just need to play nice. Or do you want me to be stuck working with the Jones all my life? Thi

  • SEDUCED BY MY ROOMMATES   CHAPTER 29

The party was already alive by the time we arrived. Loud music pulsed through the walls of the off-campus house, the kind that made your chest vibrate before you even walked through the front door. Lights—too bright, too colorful—flashed from inside, and people spilled out into the front yard, laughing, shouting, already halfway drunk. Jasper turned to me with that signature smirk of his. “Too late to back out now.” “I wasn’t planning to,” I said, adjusting my hoodie. “I could use the noise.” He chuckled. “That’s the spirit.” Inside, the place smelled like sweat, smoke, and every kind of alcohol you could imagine. Someone handed Jasper a red solo cup before we even reached the living room. He took a sip, nodded his thanks, then looked at me. “You want something?” “Surprise me,” I said, even though I knew that was a risky thing to say around him. He returned with a clear cup and handed it over. “It’s just soda,” he said. “I’m not trying to get you wasted. Yet. I mean you d

It happened two days later. That’s when everything started to spiral. We were in class—me and Dolly—just trying to pretend things were normal. I couldn’t even focus on what the teacher was saying. My mind kept drifting to Ethan’s words, the way he wouldn’t even say “no” when I asked if Zoe was part of the future his mom had planned. I always knew Zoe was planning something, ever since what she said at the cafeteria. As soon as class ended, Dolly tugged me aside. “You okay?” “Define okay.” cus, I was far from okay. “On a scale of ‘still breathing’ to ‘I’m gonna throw someone off a roof,’ where are you?” I gave a tired laugh. “Somewhere in between.” Dolly wrapped her arm around my shoulders. “Just know that whatever this is, you don’t have to face it alone.” I nodded, grateful—but I also felt that quiet ache in my chest that didn’t want comfort. It wanted answers. And it got one, but not in the way I expected. Later that afternoon, I went back to the apartment, and Ethan

  • SEDUCED BY MY ROOMMATES   CHAPTER 27

It’s been a few days since the cafeteria warzone, but things haven’t been the same with Ethan. He still kissed me good morning, held my hand when we walked through the halls, and smiled at me like I was the center of his universe—but something was off. Subtle, but definitely there. It was in the way he lingered too long on his phone after texting someone. The way he suddenly had to “meet up with mom” more often. And the way he seemed to flinch just a little when I mentioned prom. “I was thinking,” I said casually as we walked back from class, “we could check out the new photography exhibit this weekend. I mean, if you’re free.” He hesitated, just for a second. “Oh… this weekend? I’m not sure. Mom wants me to join her for some business brunch.” Business brunch? Since when did Ethan care about his mom’s boring charity and real estate luncheons? I forced a smile. “Okay, maybe next weekend?” He nodded. “Yeah, definitely.” But it didn’t feel definite. After we parted ways, I

Barbie's POV I went to my maths class after the incident, which you already know about. My mind wasn’t even in the class, to be honest. Everything felt like a blur. I was late, and if not for the fact that I was actually friends with the teacher—Miss Clara—I would have gotten an F. My very first fail. Just imagining that sent a chill down my spine. Miss Clara gave me one of those looks that said, “You better explain later,” and handed me the test paper without a word. I mumbled a soft thank-you and took my seat. The test itself felt like a punishment. I kept glancing at the clock, watching the seconds drag by like molasses. My brain was swimming with everything but formulas and numbers. Somehow, I managed to finish, though I was sure my answers looked like a scrambled egg breakfast. After the test, I and Dolly walked to the cafeteria together. The hallway buzzed with other students, some chatting, some rushing like their lives depended on getting to their next class on time. "S

Maths class was next. At least I'm sure I'd Ace this one too, cus I'm pretty good in maths out of all others. I walked with Dolly through the hallway to get to maths class. She was ranting about our teacher being mean for giving us a test "I mean he is going to ask us to find his x again,, why is he so obsessed with her" she kept on ranting. We were halfway to the math block when I heard someone call my name. “Barbie.” I turned. Jasper. He stood a few feet away, hands in his pockets, eyes intense. There was always something about Jasper that felt like trouble wrapped in charm—sharp jawline, perfectly messy hair, and a gaze that made girls second-guess everything. Why does he always show up in my life? “Can we talk?” he said, glancing quickly at Dolly. "it's urgent" Dolly raised an eyebrow. “You okay? You don't have to go with him if you don't want to" I nodded slowly. “I’ll be right back.” Jasper rolled his eyes and pulled me away from her and into an empty classroom.

I woke up not really wanting to go to school today, I sighed and stood up from the bed to start preparing so as not to get late. Monday mornings usually felt like a punishment. The kind of punishment that came with cold air, tight schedules, and the unbearable weight of Advanced Physics at 8 a.m. But not today. Today, I felt like sunshine. I felt happy, kinda, because of Ethan. Ethan showed up at my door right when I was done with dressing up. He wore a grey hoodie layered under a denim jacket, his curls slightly tousled like he’d run his hands through them one too many times. And when I opened the door, he smiled like I was the only thing that made sense in the world. “good morning angel" he handed me a flower which I happily accepted. "I'll bring you one of this everyday" I blushed, he was so romantic. He drove me to school today, so I didn't need to share a ride with Liam-the jerk. I felt that today wouldn't be so bad, like I had thought. I was having two tests today, math
