Chapter 13

Amelia’s eyes were still shut in fear while she shivered. She knew that she had seen a shadow that stood right there in front of her, and thoughts of what it might be caused her heart to ache.

She slowly opened her eyes and saw a mug that was passed to her from the opening in the bar gate.

“Who are you?” She asked as she jerked up in a frenzy.

“Don’t be so loud, or they would hear us!” She heard a whisper that made her gulp down hard.

“Who are you?” She whispered as she gazed at the coffee that still had steam oozing out of it.

Noah finally left his hiding place and sat right at the front of the bar gate. He smiled and that showed his dimples that wasn’t so visible in the dark.

“I’m Noah!” He said and took in a deep breath.

Amelia couldn’t contain the joy she felt in the moment. He was a human, after all! Not a ghost or shadow like she had thought.

“I’m…”, she trailed off when she was unable to figure out the exact way to introduce herself.
