Camila's point of view

"I'm leaving!" I yelled from the living room, rolling my box to the door.

"Already?" My Dad asked, disappointed, coming down the stairs. I flashed a smile at him.

"I'm sorry, Dad, but you know I'm a busy person. I promise to visit during spring break."

My Mom emerged from the kitchen, her dusty apron tied around her waist. She smiled and pulled my head into her neck, giving me an air kiss on my cheek.

"Please stay safe honey, and call us when you get back."

"Of course, Mom," I kissed her forehead and hugged my Dad.

"Kira, I'm going!" I yelled out for my younger sister, noticing she wasn't present.

She came down, looking like a zombie in her baggy nightgown and disheveled hair.

"For heaven's sake, Kira, you should have looked presentable," Mom scolded, and she rolled her eyes.

"Come on, Mom, let a lady live. Besides, I just got out of bed," she rubbed her eyes and looked at me. "You're leaving so soon?"

"Yes, little sis, I have to." She frowned at me.

"Hey, I'm eighteen, okay." She reminded me.

"It still doesn't change the fact that you're my baby sister," I pulled her cheek, and she slapped my hand away.

"Well, you know you have to get a room for me because after my graduation, I'm coming over."

I nodded at her with a smile.

"Of course, my doors are always open. Well, I have to leave now so I do not miss the plane."

I gave her a quick hug and waved at my parents before leaving.

My dad's driver was waiting for me already. He helped me put my box in the trunk, and I thanked him with a smile.

My family stood at the porch, watching me as I got into the car. I smiled at them one last time and waved at them through the window.

We are not a billionaire family, but we live a comfortable life. I'm originally from Trinidad, but I grew up in Florida and moved out three years ago after I graduated from  university.

I studied entrepreneurship and mastered fashion and designing, which earned me a job in a fashion house.

It isn't as big and famous as popular brands across the world, but it's a well-reputed company and makes a good amount of money, which makes me earn a handsome amount of cash.

After an hour, thirty minutes, I landed in Orlando and booked a cab.

I arrived at my apartment, and the driver helped me carry my things up to my floor. I gave him a grateful smile and added an extra tip for his kindness.

The scent of flowers hit my nostrils, and I smiled at the warm feeling of my home.

My apartment wasn't luxurious but was quite expensive, yet beautiful and simple, with a spacious living room, two bedrooms, and a kitchen.

I opened the window and switched the air conditioner on to let the hot air out.

I took my things to my room and started cleaning up. Once I was done, I went to freshen up and headed to the kitchen to make myself a meal.

"Shoot! I forgot groceries," I face-palmed and went back to my room to grab my car key from the wardrobe.

Because I was in a hurry, I wasn't careful with my step, which resulted in me bumping into someone.

"I'm sorry," we said in sync, and I looked up to find my very handsome neighbor, Ricky.

He smiled at me, causing the dimple at the left side of his cheek to pop out, and his blue eyes to glow brightly.

"Hey, Camila, when did you get back?" He pulled me into a hug. I smiled and pulled out.

"A few hours ago, and why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be at work?" Curiosity lingered in my eyes.

"Actually, I have the day off from my boss," I tilted my head a bit with my brow up as I anticipated an elaboration.

"I have to attend my sister's graduation," he explained, and I nodded in understanding.

"Oh, alright, see you later," I smiled and turned to leave, but he stopped me.

"Camila," I turned around to answer his call.

"Can we hang out tomorrow evening? It's okay if you don't want to," I smiled and shook my head.

"I will love to, Ricky, but you know I've been away from work for long, I bet I'll have a lot piled up. I hope you understand." He passed me his dashing smile and nodded.

"I perfectly understand you, Camila, but whenever you're free, let me know."

"Sure," I smiled and left. I walked into my favorite grocery store and was greeted with a warm smile by Fortune, my favorite staff member.

"Hey, you're back!" She exclaimed, and I returned the smile, giving her a hug.

"Yes, I got back a few hours ago. How are you?" I asked, and she let out a dramatic sigh.

"I wish I was okay, but I'm not. Work has been too much for me," she said, exaggerating her struggles, and I chuckled.

"Of course, it'll be, especially since it's almost winter. But the good thing is that the holiday is around the corner, and you can use the break."

"Yes, I can't wait," she gushed dramatically.

"By the way, I came to get some things," I told her, and she nodded with a smile.

"You're always welcome here, Camila." I thanked her and grabbed a cart to start my shopping.

After finishing my shopping, I headed to the checkout counter to pay.

"Thanks for patronizing," she smiled, handing me my card and receipt. I thanked her with a smile and left with my stuff.

On my way home, I stopped at the gas station to fill up my car, which made me arrive home late in the afternoon.

Hearing my stomach grumble, I knew my poor belly was angry with me, and I went to the kitchen to arrange the things I bought and make myself lunch.

After finishing my meal and doing the dishes, I headed to my room to rest. Stretching out my limbs, I lay on the soft bed and drifted off to sleep.

When I woke up, I looked around to see that the sky was already dark. I threw the duvet off my body and went to the bathroom to wash my face.

Grabbing my phone, I called my mom and spoke to her for a while. After what seemed like hours, I hung up and went to have dinner. I changed into my nightgown and went to the closet to prepare my outfit for work the next day.

Not caring that I had just woken up, I went back to bed to get more sleep, knowing I would have a lot of work at the office the next day.

  • Saint Or Sinner?    His Apologies Under Her Terms

~Luciano~"I think we got a head on who it is" Russo walked in with a serious look on his face.I looked up from my laptop waiting for him to continue. "I suspect lago Othello" the name was enough to make my blood run cold and I clenched my jaw angrily."How? I thought he stopped the business" I seethed out."Exactly Luciano, he used that as an excuse so no one will ever think or suspect if he does anything. And he knows about her already, he met her at the party that night."I clenched my fist and banged the table."Hire more body guards for her and we have to get him before he does anything" he stiffly nodded. Lago Othello caused us so much pain in the past and it's time to put an end to him."One more thing Don" I raised a brow at him."I don't think Dylan Chris is entirely good" that caught my attention. "Why?" "I didn't see anything about him but from all Ava told me I think he is too good to be true"."Ava? What did she say?" I inquired."She told me about his long time feelin

I stayed at the balcony watching the peaceful bright sky filled with twinkling stars. The night breeze fanned my face and I shut my eyes enjoying the soft feeling.A hand on my shoulder made me open my eyes immediately and I stayed frozen on my spot not wanting to look back because I knew who it was and I sighed.''Luciano I told you I don't want to speak to you" I hissed out as I remembered what he did to me earlier. His hand lingered on my arm and I turned to give him a piece of my mind.He was in a pair of black sweats and matching hood, his dark hair glistening under the moon light. His gray eyes appeared lighter than usual and his lips pulled up in a smile which made my eyes narrow in confusion. When did he start smiling and why's he smiling?"Luciano i--- He chuckled and shook his head."I'm not Luciano Piccolo fiore" the voice familiar to Luciano's spoke and I furrowed my brows. "T--then who are you?" I mumbled out."That selfish jerk" he spoke under his breath."I see my foo

  • Saint Or Sinner?    When Love Hurts

Pain shot through my head, a blinding white light flashing behind my eyelids. They felt heavy. I struggled, every muscle in my body protesting, and finally managed to pry them open. My vision swam, blurring the room into a hazy mess. I sat up, heart pounding. This wasn't my hotel suite. Where was I?The memories of the night flooded back, a blurred blend of images. The dinner, the champagne, the way he'd been watching me. His eyes, those dark, piercing eyes, seemed to hold a strange intensity. So Luciano really drugged me, and to think he had it planned with Ms. Aurora aggravated me more.I was about to fling back the covers and leave when the door slammed open.He stood there, a vision of raw power in his gray sweats, his chest and abs sculpted with tattoos, a dangerous, captivating display. His gaze landed on me, and a flicker of something dark passed over his usually Stoic features."I see you're awake. • Saint Or Sinner?    In The Presence of Power

The taxi pulled up to the hotel and I let out a weary sigh. The day had been long and filled with unexpected twists and turns. Mrs. Aurora, the woman I'd just met, had left me with a lingering sense of unease. She reminded me of the female version of Luciano. Cold, Straight forward, and unsmiling. The image of his cold, calculating gaze when we first met filled my mind as I kicked off my heels and collapsed onto the soft bed.The buzz of my phone broke my train of thought, and I turned to grab it from my bag. Ava's name flashed on the screen, and I eagerly answered the call.Instead of being greeted by my normal, calm best friend, I was met with Kira's voice, high-pitched and ear-splitting, making me cringe."The fuck, Kira? Do you want to tear my eardrums?" I scolded, furrowing my brow."You know you don't have to be so bitchy, sis," she retorted, and I could almost hear her rolling her eyes. How we ended up sisters was a mystery I was still trying to solve."Well, I just missed yo
