Aya's POV

The principal arrives like a storm that doesn’t bother knocking. The clinic door opens with a sharp crack, and the air seems to change immediately—thicker, heavier, like every molecule is bracing itself. Principal Reed steps inside with his hands clasped behind his back, posture rigid, eyes already scanning the room with unsettling precision.

His gaze lands on Johanis.

He pauses.

Then his brow lifts, just slightly. “You really had the guts to summon me, young man?”

Johanis doesn’t ev

  • Saved, Then Rejected by my Ice Hockey Mate    103 - A Small Flicker of Hope

Aya's POVMom looked at me for a very long time. The kind of look mothers gave when they were trying to decide whether to support you or lock you in a room for your own safety.Unfortunately for her, I was almost twenty-one years old and had even already survived corruption. Good luck with that. The silence stretched. And stretched. And stretched.Until finally—She sighed."Oh, thank the Goddess," Dad muttered under his breath. Mom shot him a look. Dad immediately looked fascinated by a broken pillar. Pfft..My mother turned back toward me. "We are not charging blindly into an unstable forest."I opened my mouth, but the moment she pointed at me, I closed it. Barely."We are not rushing in emotionally."I opened my mouth again. Her finger remained pointed so what else should I do but close it again but with significantly more effort."We are not risking more lives without a plan."That one was harder to argue with, because unfortunately… She was right. Whether I like it or not.The f

  • Saved, Then Rejected by my Ice Hockey Mate    102 - A Small Argument

Aya's POVNobody dared to move, not even a little. The words hung in the air like a challenge. "I'm not asking permission."Honestly? The second I said it, I knew it was a terrible idea. A spectacularly terrible idea..Because my mother was no longer looking at me as my mother. She was looking at me as the Fairy Queen. And apparently I had just challenged the Fairy Queen in front of half the palace.Wonderful.Absolutely wonderful. Dad looked like he was reconsidering every life choice that had led to this exact moment."Aya," he said carefully. I looked at him immediately. "Dad, please."His mouth snapped shut. Johanis made a strangled sound behind me, he was internally debating with Sora of what course of action to do next. And even the healers looked deeply invested in the floor.Cowards.Every single one of them..Mom remained perfectly still. "Ayreil."That was worse.Way worse…Nobody used my full name unless I was either about to get a lecture or accidentally start an internati

  • Saved, Then Rejected by my Ice Hockey Mate    101 - Truth About Eros

Aya's POVYeah.I figured that much already considering he literally traded places with corruption roots like some suicidal forest prince.I inwardly rolled my eyes. “What is he?”Mom hesitated for a little bit, she took a huge breath and then, “He was born from the forest.”I blinked once with what she just said. “What?”Dad’s expression darkened sharply. Johanis went completely still behind me. Mom’s gaze never left mine.“The forest was possessed by the corruption, right?” she whispered. “..but the forest predicted it earlier. That's why, long before you were born… it created guardians.”My heartbeat slowed painfully. What??And then my gut twisted in this awkward loop as memories flashed violently through my head. The silver wind of Eros. The forest sometimes listening to him for a split second whenever the corruption is distracted. Roots literally obeying him, accepting the swap. That smile.‘I could take your place…’Cold realization flooded my entire body.“He let me go,” I wh

  • Saved, Then Rejected by my Ice Hockey Mate    100 - After Survival

Aya's POVHis voice cracked on the last word. And suddenly everything hit me at once. The forest. Eros. The corruption. Mom collapsing. Almost dying. It was all way too much..My body gave out completely. The relief alone was overwhelming enough to destroy whatever strength I had left. Johanis immediately caught me as my knees buckled. “Aya?”I could barely keep my eyes open now. Exhaustion slammed into me violently. Every nerve in my body hurt. Not corruption hurt, but aftermath hurt.Like surviving something my body still had not processed yet.“I’m just tired,” I whispered weakly. Panic flickered across his face instantly anyway. “A healer!”“I’m fine,” I mumbled.Honestly? I did not even know if that was true. But compared to before.. at least this felt survivable. My body felt empty now. Stripped raw, but yeah, gladly alive..The older healer touched my forehead gently. “She’s exhausted,” she said softly. “Her body just survived forced corruption extraction. Let her rest.”Johani

  • Saved, Then Rejected by my Ice Hockey Mate    99 - Bond Through Ruin

Aya's POVThe corruption continued to scream inside my head. I could feel it thrashing as if it's physically there because honestly? It really is.It is inside my skull, inside my veins, inside the very center of my being where it had rooted itself so deeply that I almost forgot what it felt like to exist without it.Its sound and screeches became unbearable. I gasped violently as another pulse of Johanis’s magic wrapped around me. His trademark colors, gold and blue, flooded my vision while the mate bond burned hotter than it ever had before. It felt claiming and possessive in a way that makes me want to submit to him..The corruption recoiled so violently beneath my skin that I physically felt it tearing backward.“Aya!” Dad’s voice sounded distant now.Everything sounded distant.Because suddenly I could feel two forces inside me fighting for dominance. The corruption… and Johanis.Darkness against bond. Decay against devotion. Something ancient and hungry against something equally

  • Saved, Then Rejected by my Ice Hockey Mate    98 - The Bond It Feared

Aya's POVSora’s roar did not sound human. It sounded like something came from underground and just been hauled back to the land of the living. It was loud enough that the entire palace trembled beneath it.The second my mother’s body hit the floor, something inside the mate bond snapped completely. Panic exploded through Johanis so violently that it drowned out everything else. Rage followed right after it.Not directed at me.Not even at the ritual. At the corruption..At the thing destroying everything it touched. The chamber erupted into chaos instantly.“Your Majesty!”Fairy guards rushed toward my mother while silver lights flickered wildly across the cracked walls. The glowing symbols beneath me continued malfunctioning, sparks of ancient magic snapping through the air like lightning. My breathing came out broken. Pire agony still burned beneath my skin. The corruption had not stopped moving after the ritual collapse. Instead, it felt even more violently angry now, like the fai

Aya's POV I don’t remember closing my eyes. The next—Complete darkness. A stillness but one that is comf
