I was in the room, facing the mirror on the wall while I sat on the chair, and was trying to clean up the injury in my elbow when Aimes came into the room.

Shirtless, but has his training shorts on.

He didn’t say a word to me, I looked away when he entered, focused on having my elbow treated, but surprisingly he pulled a chair close to me, and took my hand.

“Give me that, freckles.” He took the ointment from my hand, the cotton wool, gently cleaned the blood of my elbows, his hair fell to his eyes, and then he blew air from his mouth to the injury.

The fact that he was so calm and focused made him look attractive, and I just couldn’t help but stare dreamily at him.

He placed the plaster on the injury, dropped my hand on the table, and the next injury was on my knee.

“You were supposed to wear that to protect yourself…”

I scoffed as if he weren’t there when they attacked me with force.

He did the same treatment on my knee.

I watched him while he did that, wondering why he was helping. He looked up and caught me staring at him. “You will get new training clothes.” His hands were still on my knees, and that minute felt like it was an eternity, or worse.

When he took his hand off, everything was gone.

I hummed, and turned towards the mirror, trying to hide my flushed cheeks.

He stood up from the chair. “Are you coming to the Carnival?”

“Is it that important?”

“You said you were bringing your twin to the carnival, introduced her to some duck assholes, I thought I should warn you about it.”

I twirled in my seat, curiosity biting down on my throat. “Have you seen Kaiya?”

He turned and gave me a stare. “Once.”

“Isn’t she beautiful? Like a goddess with flawless skin, long brown hair that brings out her elegance? The smartest of all, a complete diva…”

The cringe look on his face made me stop talking, and I twirled back to face the mirror slightly embarrassed.

There came a knock on the door, and Aimes went to get it. I thought it was Cameron, but it turns out it was Elijah.

I leaned against the door. “That was some sneaky game you played earlier, munchball.”

I scorned and eyed him.

“The coach wants to see you, Captain. You should get ready, the carnival is tonight.”

“I’m not going.”

“Everyone on the team is going to be there, someone might be lucky to find a mate.”

I clicked my tongue at him. “The mating ceremony is not now but a month away.”

“You know what, fuck you.”

I rolled my eyes at him, and faced the mirror again, peeped at Aimes putting a shirt on, when he turned, he caught me staring at him through the mirror.

“Your twin, is she coming tonight?” Elijah asked, Kaius never told me about the carnival, and I’m not sure he had any intention of bringing me here.

“She won’t be here tonight.”

“Why?”

“She’s away at school.”

“Govan College will be there too.”

I snapped my head at Elijah, how come I never knew that? And nobody informed me about it. I took my phone, and noticed that I archived our group chat at school, and the only friend I’ve got barely even comes to school or informs me about anything.

Fuck.

What am I going to do?

I cleared my throat. “It doesn’t mean she has to come.”

Elijah shrugged. “I think she’s indeed evil as they said.”

“She’s the sweetest person ever!” I defended myself, and my voice came out a bit loud, almost sounding very feminine.

Aimes gave me a slanted look, then shook his head.

“Let’s go, El.”

They walked out of the room, slammed the door behind them, and I almost screamed my lungs out.

I placed a call through Kaius immediately. It rang for a while but there was no answer.

He didn’t pick up his phone.

I gave him two missed calls, and was going to call the third time.

Yet, nothing.

I palmed my forehead, I need to do something.

If I should go to the carnival dressed as Kaiya or just stay as I am.

My phone rang, a call from Kaius, I picked up immediately.

“Sorry I missed your call, I was in practice.”

“Why did you call?” He asked when I fell silent.

“The carnival.”

“Why didn’t you tell me about it?”

“It’s not your style, Elizabeth, that’s why I didn’t bother, and I wasn’t going to take you there in a place mostly filled with rugged boys and unmated wolves. It’s not important.”

My voice softened. “I hope you win this time, Kaius.”

“Thank you, my little princess.”

I chuckled, pushing back the tears. “I’m 5’7 and only Dad gets to call me that, and I’m the older twin.”

“Well doesn’t mean I can’t treat you like the princess that you are.”

I smiled, even after the call ended.

I breathed out, looked at where his clothes were, and I needed to find an outfit for the carnival, but the carnival was four hours again, so I needed a little practice before I left.

I put on my training shoes, and Aimes’ Jersey. He was going to kill me for it, but I didn’t mind, I needed something to wear since mine got torn, and he was the one who promised to get me another one, so?

I jogged out of the room and down to the field. I needed to warm my body, so I decided to do some exercise.

Until someone hit me with the puck.

“Sorry.”

“My hand slipped.”

I growled, knowing fully well that it wasn't an accident.

He waved at me, grinning like he hadn’t just hit me.

“Baby boy.” I recognized the voice from the bathroom, he was the one who said that, but who is he?

I came back to get dressed for the carnival, and didn't expect to see Logan at my door, leaning on it with his hands behind him. I glanced around to see if there was anyone in sight, but it was just him. And me. I rubbed my neck anxiously. “I came to apologize.” He moved away from the door. “I’m sorry about this earlier, I shouldn’t have done that. I’m sorry.” He lowered his head at me. “I’m sorry too.” He lifted his head. “You don’t have to be.” “I was wrong, and I should apologize for it too, just got annoyed at what you did,” I said, leaning on the wall close to him, staring blankly at the door of the room that was right across. I might not have known everything about Kaius after all. He stretched out his hand towards me. “See you at the carnival.” I nodded and took his hand. “Yeah.” I entered my room when he was gone. Aimes was writing on a note. He looked dressed in navy blue pants, a striped shirt that had pink on it. I wasn’t going to dress with him in the room, I

“You hit me.” “I did.” He shrugged like it meant nothing that he had just hit me. “Why are you here?” “Practicing.” “For what?”“Because of the show you put on earlier at training, you think everyone is going to forget what you did, and how much of a loser you are? Selfish bastard.” “Is that why you hit me?”“It’s not enough is it? You deserve more.” “Go ahead then, hit me again.” I stood upright and faced him, stood close enough to his chest, I was five feet seven, and he was probably around six feet two, and he couldn’t intimidate me with that height. “Hit me.” I threatened him by gritting my teeth. I didn’t care that we were being watched, I wanted to see what he could do. “That’s enough Logan, let him be.” Elijah stepped in, his hand touched Logan's shoulder, and he tried to push him away from me. “What would you do if I did?” He asked, not paying any attention to Elijah who was trying to stop him. “Why don’t you try and see?” I retorted, and he scoffed. If he had touche

Cameron left me at the door of Kaius’s room. I wanted to ask him at that moment why he never called me, why he kept his distance from me on my sixteenth birthday. But I couldn’t bring myself to ask him all the questions that I wanted, so I let him go. I heaved a sigh of relief before I opened the door. I didn’t expect to see a shirtless man in front of me with just his boxers on, a towel around his neck, wet dark hair, and strong arms. My jaw dropped at the sight. He spun around slowly, and his eyes met mine, while I was still at the door as if stuck. Those forest green eyes, sharp jawline, brunette hair, a pointed nose, and thin red lips. His wet hair was close to his eyes, and water dripped from it down to his body. “Are you going to come in or get out?” His harsh voice snapped me out of my trance. “Were you checking me out? Weirdo.” I huffed and closed the door behind me. I walked past him, to take the bed that was close to the window. I figured that would be Kaius’ space.

My twin Kaius was useless. This was the fourth time he made his team lose the hockey game. I shook my head in disgust. I should be the one there, not him. “Look at him, Dad, disgracing the entire family. That he’s good for nothing.” “Kaiya, words, that’s your brother.” Mom chided and I rolled my eyes. “Kaius is doing his best, he’s so sweet.” “Unbelievable.” I mouthed. No matter what Kaius does, she always defends him like it was nothing, Kaius could never do anything wrong in her eyes. The match ended in defeat, and I was pissed because we lost. “I would have been better,” I muttered under my breath as I watched him limp out after the end of the match with his best friend Cameron Vaughan, Kaius had his arms around Cameron’s neck, and they walked tittering together. I felt the urge to squeeze them. I have known Cameron since I was six, it was around that same age he was adopted by the Gamma and his wife, Gamma Vaughan had brought him to the Pack house, introduced him to my f
