Chapter Sixty-Three

My father sank with each word. I watched as his world crumbled, and I was sorry for it. It wasn’t what I wanted, but it needed to be said. Beck had caused half the issues here. I was sure of it. “How can you be so sure?” His voice was soft, but his eyes held a tiny seed of hope.

“I’m not. But if he thinks Ronnie is dead, then we have a chance to catch him.” I gave him the tiny bit of hope. “I might be wrong. I am more than willing to be wrong. But all of what has happened isn’t sitting well with me. Something is wrong, and someone betrayed this pack. That person is the same one that attacked Ronnie.”

“You are making a leap.”

“No, I’m not.” I looked next to me to Ronnie. “Ronnie ran all the way from where he was attacked to my room. That gives me a bit of information. He trusted who attacked him, and because of the attack, it made him question everyone in the pack. If it was

  • Shifted Fate   Chapter 532

I grabbed a tray of champagne flutes and I stood at the end of the walkway, allowing guests to grab a drink before they found their seats. Brandon was reluctantly standing at the end of the path next to a priestess. Derek stood beside him, and I watched as he leaned over to whisper something in Brandon’s ear. Another omega walked over to take my now empty tray and to hand me a full one. “Are you okay here?” Her voice was soft, but I could hear the tremble in it.I caught her eye, and I lifted a brow. She must have caught the tiny flick of my brow because her lips curved up for a second. “I’m fine here. Thank you.” I answered as I took the full tray in my hands. I stood there for a few more minutes as the last wave of guests filtered in. Garith and Verity grabbed a flute from me, and barely even looked at me, which I was grateful for but not surprised. He says omegas are the backbone, but they aren’t important enough to even look at. I smirked as they turned away.“Have you heard any

There was silence in the office. Then Vince spoke up. “Garith, I don’t think that is really necessary.” He tried to push back, but Garith was having none of it.“Pick boy.” There was an edge to his voice. “I would listen to my father, Brandon. It’s not the end of the world mating the girl, is it?' She sighed. “I mean, look at your father. He still has his fun.” There was a pause. “Matings don’t have to be this sacred thing that some people make it out to be. Sometimes it’s just a way to leverage your position.”“Leverage my position?”Verity murmured an agreement. “Yeah. You use this one to entice others. When they see your bond isn’t something held in reverence that others are, it will give the stupid ones the idea that they could win you over, and they can become luna.” She laughed. “But keeping this one around might be better than you think.”“How is that even possible?” Brandon sounded like a whiny toddler. I sneered where I stood. “She is ambitious. But also dumb. She will do w

The omega stepped back against the far wall. “Don’t hurt me.”I tilted my head. “Have I ever given you the idea that I would hurt you Bernard?” He shook his head. “And I wouldn’t start now. I’m not even here for you.” I turned my focus on to the luna. “I came here for you.”She stepped back. “What do you want from me?”I smiled wide and allowed my fangs to descend with a snap. “It’s honestly just a simple request. It won’t hurt you and anyone else. I can promise you that.” She was already shaking her head. “I don’t think so.” I laughed then. “Oh, silly.” I stepped forward. “I didn’t say I was giving you an option, did I?” The omega whimpered, but I just released my aura. This would be simple. The two dropped to the ground in a second, both whimpering as they pressed against the floor. “Please.” Bernard whispered, but I ignored him. “Luna Brittney, I command you to walk Shannon down the aisle, and do anything she asks for her mating ceremony that doesn’t put you in harm’s way. Or g

  • Shifted Fate   Chapter 529

I forced myself to shiver as the command barely touched my toes. She snarled at me as I stood rooted in my spot. “Didn’t you hear me, Omega?” She pushed herself up off the chair and growled. She was pulling her strength to her as she hobbled up to me. “Go find the Luna and convince her to walk Shannon down the aisle, or kill yourself. There is no in between.” I heard Nix and Megan growl, but I held it all in. “Yes, Meg.” I bowed, even though she wasn’t rankled because Shannon demanded it of the omegas. I turned and left her there, on her bad leg, and stumbled towards the stairs. Meg snickered, but she missed the smirk I had on my face as I hit the landing. These people were too easy to fool. This stupid mask, and a fake scent, and they forget what you look like. It’s because they never thought to actually look at people they think are below them. Even if they are looking at your face, you are an omega, below them in every way. Nix snorted. They never understood the truth here. Megan

A few days later…I walked through the halls of the pack house, and I smirked behind my mask. This was as gaudy as I thought it was going to be. The colors were white and cream. Who picks those two for mating colors? I snorted as Meg, Shannon’s best friend, came running out of a room in tears. “I fucking hate her.” She screamed as she ran away.“She seems like a real peach.” A dark whisper came from behind the curtain. I was by.“You aren’t supposed to be near me.” I leaned against the wall by the window. “I know, but how could I not be?” His voice was soft. I heard the window open. “But someone is coming. I love you.” Then he was gone. The lack of guards was laughable. “Do we really need to wear these stupid fucking masks?” Verity’s nasally voice was coming from down the hall. I just walked. She turned the corner with a familiar man, already in a mask.“Will you please stop whining for five damn seconds?” The man rubbed his forehead. “We have only been here for an hour and you have

I looked down at my hands, still covered in blood. “I didn’t touch the other body. I was focused on Cass.” I looked at Rowan. “Did you?”He frowned. “I was going to, but then something happened and I just smelled death, and listened for a heartbeat.”“What happened?” My dad prodded.“Nothing…” Rowan frowned. My dad chuckled. “Something felt off, because something was off. The ‘body’ was probably Aurora still alive, and using magic to confuse you.” Rowan growled, but my father patted his shoulder. “Don’t get upset. The bitch is good at what she does.” He turned back to his office. “Get cleaned up and come back to my office.”“Why?” I called out. I wanted to stay here, just in case Cass changed her mind about wanting someone with her.“Because I have an idea. And it might be good enough to stop the war from even happening.” That caught everyone’s attention. “Tell us.” Rowan stepped closer, but my dad waved his hand. “I’ll mull it over until you two get cleaned up.” He wrinkled his no
