MARCO'S RESIDENCE,

Kinuha ni Miguel ang telepono at tinawagan si Mr. Araneta, isa sa mga legal counsel ng mga Marco.

“Mr. Araneta, I need you to go to Jacque. Check to see whether we can enable him in getting out of this,” wika ni Miguel sa lalaking kausap niya sa kabilang linya.

Agad naman itong umoo at sinunod ang utos ni Miguel.

“Don't tell me you're going to be helping that idiot, Miguel. Don't be so reckless, Miguel! Put it another way, you will seriously compromise your position!” umaalmang saad ni Irina.

Ibinalik ni Miguel ang telepono niyang hawak sa side table at saka ibinaling ang kanyang tingin sa kanyang ina.

“Mama, take a deep breath and relax. I'm just curious about what happened during the transaction that night. Let us not rush into any decisions, or we may find ourselves in serious trouble,” wika ni Miguel.
