When I learned that Mera was about to be sold to the Crescent Moon pack, I'll admit that my insides panicked.

I immediately made an advance deposit to the castle under my true identity, Alpha of the Blood Moon pack, and made it clear that the person I wanted was Mera.

With that done, I climbed up to the second floor balcony and saw a large truck from above, with Mera locked in a steel cage.

She was hugging herself and her body was trembling terribly. My heart ached at what had happened to her.

I could barely control the urge to get her out myself, but I couldn't. In the castle, she and I could only be master and slave, and could not be found out any more than that.

Hawthorne releases her from the cage and I see that she can't land on her right foot, probably injured.
