Chapter Eight

"He's my mate." She said again, waiting for her parents to process what they had just heard.

"We don't understand what you're talking about, Evie. Are you saying that Ethan is your mate?" Her mother asked again.

"Not Ethan, Mom. Alpha Ronan." She replied, her eyes went damp with tears.

She surely didn't like the look in her mother's eyes.

The woman wasn't happy at all and she didn't like the fact that no one was saying a word.

"Mother? Father?" She called.

Her mother laughed. "I'm sure you're wrong, baby. I would have caught on that if it were true. I have a strong sense of judgment, sweetie." Her mother waved her off like it wasn't something they had to talk about.

"This isn't some judgemental case, Mom. He's my mate, and we met that day in the female bathroom. He's my mate, we both felt it... that's why he left early that day." She explained.

"I don't understand this, Evie. Why didn't you tell us about this then? Why did you keep it within yourself? Does anyone know about this?" He
