Chapter 3

Author: Scarlett Flame
"Amara! Get out here! Have you been spreading rumors about Rosie being the third party in our relationship? Her depression is getting worse. You're pushing her to the verge of committing suicide!"

Jasper rushed angrily into the villa and began going through every room in search of me.

However, there was no sign of me in the villa at all.

If he'd been a little more observant, he would have realized that the rooms had not been occupied for a long time.

"What a witch!"

Jasper used every resource he had to look for me.

Soon, his lackeys found the last message that I'd left in the world.

I'd made my last call a month ago to Silas Turner, a policeman.

I'd met Silas unexpectedly. Despite our identities as a member of the mafia and a policeman, respectively, we became very good friends.

Jasper had always disliked Silas, and he would become very jealous whenever I met up with Silas.

Jasper sped all the way to Silas' home and gave the order for Silas' front door to be smashed down. The noise soon attracted the attention of the police.

When they arrived, they looked at each other. They all recognized Jasper. The higher officials of the mafia had infiltrated the police station long ago.

However, Silas was the sergeant's son, while Jasper was the Don of the mafia.

The policemen did not dare to offend either of them.

In the end, Silas told them to leave.

Once they had gone, Jasper grabbed Silas' collar impatiently.

"Where have you hidden Amara?"

Jasper had no doubt that Silas was involved in my disappearance.

Silas was the only one who had power and influence in the state and was bold enough to go against Jasper.

Silas had chiseled features, and he gave off a righteous air.

He looked calm, but he was secretly suppressing a great sadness.

"Let go. Amara's dead. Didn't you already know that?"

Jasper said scornfully, "You're helping Amara lie to me. Do you think this is fun? Tell her to come out quickly! Don't make me resort to violence!"

Silas looked at Jasper, who was still being stubborn. "You never even trusted her. I really feel sad for her."

Jasper laughed scornfully. "You treat her so well. It's a pity that I had my fill of her long ago. When I'm sick of her, I can consider delivering her to you so that you can have fun with her."

When Silas heard how disrespectful Jasper was being to me, he got into a tussle with him.

I wanted to stop Jasper, but there was nothing I could do except watch in agitation from beside them.

They were equally matched in strength, but Jasper didn't play fair. He pinned Silas to the floor and punched him in the face.

"Where have you hidden Amara?"

Silas spat out a mouthful of blood-flecked spit. He clenched his teeth and grabbed Jasper's collar as he yelled angrily, "She's been dead for a long time! Didn't the hospital notify you to identify the corpse and collect it? You spilled her ashes yourself!"

Jasper did not believe him at all. He was just about to raise his fist when a lackey rushed up and interrupted him.

The lackey's voice was trembling, and he seemed very reluctant to speak.

"Don Shaw… We found out that Ms. Amara disappeared a month ago. There has been no trace of her since then… A-And there's also her autopsy report!"

  • Stomping on Ashes   Chapter 10

Jasper had said that he only wanted to meet Rosie once and that he would bring her back after that, but everyone knew very well that he would not bring her back. When I heard the news, I was very disappointed. In the end, Rosie was still very important to Jasper, even though he knew that she had murdered me.He probably felt that letting Rosie suffer for a few days at the police station was already a huge punishment for her.It wasn't a surprise. Jasper had always been very protective of Rosie. How could he bear letting her be put in prison to await execution? However, what seemed strange to me was that Silas did not object and even allowed him to do so. I had no idea what Jasper had said to him. Rosie was very touched when she saw Jasper. "I knew you wouldn't just leave me. Don Shaw, I truly love you. I love you more than Amara does! From now on, we should let go of the events of the past and live a good life, alright?"Jasper did not answer. He looked coldly at Rosie, as

  • Stomping on Ashes   Chapter 9

Rosie took two steps backward and muttered, "Was this wedding fake from the start? You weren't planning on marrying me at all. This was just a tool for you to punish me, wasn't it?"Jasper shook his head. "No. I told you. This wedding is real, but it's the wedding of Amara and me."The anticipation in Rosie's eyes disappeared completely. She laughed crazily and said, "So what? Amara is dead!"Do you think that you're so devoted? Weren't you the one who believed from the start that Amara had set me up? You were the one who punished her! I just gave her a push right at the end and locked her in the wine cellar. Weren't you the one who refused to let anyone go and visit her at the villa? The person who killed her wasn't me, it was you, Jasper!"The veins on Jasper's face bulged, and he kicked Rosie to the ground. "Shut up!"Rosie began screaming madly and even tried to escape, but she didn't get far before she was caught by the police and taken away. After Rosie's crimes were expos

Jasper's sudden rejection caused an uproar in the crowd. There was the sound of whispering from the guests' seats. I looked up involuntarily at the stage.Jasper snatched the microphone, looking as if he had made up his mind about something."I welcome everyone who has come to attend my wedding today. Don't panic. The wedding will take place as planned. However, my bride isn't Rosie. It's my lover… Amara!"Rosie turned to stare at Jasper in shock. She asked nervously in a low voice, "What kind of joke are you pulling? Amara is dead! It's our wedding today!"Jasper sneered. There was no longer any tender love in his eyes, and they were now as cold as ice."Do you think that I wouldn't be able to find out about the things that you did?"Rosie turned white at once, and she looked panicked. Silas was in the distance, but he suddenly chuckled in a slightly dazed manner and said, "Amara, it seems that Jasper isn't beyond hope yet. Even so, you'll still never be able to return to

As Jasper hadn't replied, Antonio had chosen not to interfere and had allowed the photos and messages to spread all over the Internet."Remove those photos at once! Delete all the information related to Amara. If anyone sends those without permission again, cut off their hands! Go and investigate, and find out who the first person who sent the photos was, and bring them to me! Fools!"Jasper looked terrifying. It seemed as if he would skin them alive! However, the photos had been of me, not Rosie. Why was Jasper so angry?Did he feel sorry for me?I snorted and shook my head as I abandoned my final vestige of hope.I was getting ahead of myself. It was impossible for Jasper to feel sorry for me. The amazing thing was that after meeting Silas, I could actually leave Jasper for a while. As Jasper had acted firmly and quickly, the photos on the Internet were deleted swiftly, but they had already been seen by many people. They could not stop talking about it.Naturally, Silas had

"I'll be busy with a few things for a while, so let's delay the wedding photos for a couple of days. I'll go and keep you company once I've finished my work," Jasper said.Rosie sounded extremely unhappy, so Jasper placated her patiently. Silas kicked him out of the house. After hanging up, Jasper drove to the funeral parlor. It wasn't open yet, so Jasper banged hard on the door and woke one of the staff members."Where are Amara's ashes?"Jasper's eyes were bright red, and it made the staff member jump in fright."I'm sorry, mister. We checked, and Ms. Amara's ashes have been collected by someone. They were signed for."Jasper was furious. He said angrily, "I signed, but I didn't take them with me! What have you done with her ashes?"The staff member remembered Jasper. There was a flash of scorn in his eyes, but he remained polite on the surface."Mister, we've confirmed that Ms. Amara's ashes were handed over to you. You even signed. If I remember correctly, you opened th

  • Stomping on Ashes   Chapter 5

Jasper remembered how I had told him many times about being pregnant. However, he had never believed me, and he hadn't even been willing to verify it.If my death and pregnancy were both true, he would have killed his own lover and child!Jasper froze instantly, his eyes bulging with disbelief. He turned as pale as a sheet. He could not believe the terrible things that he had done to me!"That's impossible! I'm going to find her! She's lying to me! How could Amara have left me forever while being pregnant?"Silas looked pityingly at Jasper, who was on the verge of breaking down. "It's all written in the autopsy report. She was two months pregnant, and the fetus was already formed."Silas ordered Jasper to leave. "I will find out the truth about this entire thing and clear Amara's name. Of course, I'll also find the real culprit behind her murder and bring them to justice!"Silas stared fixedly at Jasper as he spoke, and Jasper suddenly felt guilty. Silas clearly did not believ
