Elaina had fallen unconscious, it was a miracle she had managed to stay awake for that long. But before she fainted, she said something that triggered Alfred straight in his heart.

“Alfy!!!” her voice was loud and clear in his ears, he knew it was not a mistake.

Could it be….

‘No no no… how could she know that name? Only one person called me by that name’ he wondered. His heart was truly in turmoil over a single word to show how much it affected him.

He thought of Elaina and the face of that girl from his childhood. The first girl he had ever loved and his only best friend, Ella. And like that something clicked and his eyes widened in realization, he almost tripped as he stood up in urgency.

‘How stupid could I be to not realize? What have I done?’ he berated himself harshly.

“Stopppp!” He barked at the guard who was still slashing away.

Everyone's eyes turned to him, surprised to hear his change of reaction.

“But my king, it's just one slash left” the guard paused and replied.
