Chapter 4

Serena Cesantio

I sat in front of my parents and I waited for them to say whatever inside their mind. They looked at each other and my mom let my dad speak first.

"Serena, me and your mom, as your parents really concern you. We know that it's your choice to have this lifestyle because you're already an adult and I know that you can make your own decision but.. now, we both decided to intervene it." My dad said and I found myself nodding because I think I already went too far.

I think it's time for me to grow up and stop acting like a kid.

"Serena, you need to change. This act of yours is.. very childish." My mom said and I know that she cares for me a lot so I'm not blaming her for saying that to me.

"I know.. I was hurted." I said.

"Caleb right?" My dad asked and I nodded.

"I know that he hurted you but sleeping around is not the answer, Serena." My mom said in a sad tone.

"I.. was.. I was just.. I don't know. I was mad, I think." I said honestly and I heard my dad sighed.

"I know you might hate this but I want to arrange a marriage with you. Ugh.. how do I say this?!" My dad turned to my mom asking for help.

"We're not forcing you to marry this guy but can you do me a favor to get to know this guy because he's a really good and caring guy." My mom said and I know what they meant. They want me to meet good guys so I can be happy instead of sleeping around.

"Okay." I agreed and my parents' eyes widened.

"Really?" My dad asked and I nodded.

"Like really really?" My mom asked again because I bet they both didn't expect me to agree to it easily.

"Yes, mom. So tell me about this guy.. you want me to marry him?"

"I mean.. if you two are good and like each other.. yeah." My dad literally so honest about it.

"His name is Gabriel and he has the same age as your brother. He's a surgeon and he's a really good guy.. as much as I know." My dad said and I nodded.

"I will meet this guy and if I don't like him, can you both not force me to-"

"Of course, darling. We will not force you, your decision will come first in this case." My mom cut me and I nodded. I sighed and I looked at my parents.

"I don't think I.. I can fall in love anymore. I know I was hurted once but.. I just.. I don't really like the feel of having a broken heart. It made me change a lot in every way. I know that.. I'm disgusting right now and.." I was speechless. I'm just broken and I still can't even fix myself.

"That's what I felt when your grandfather was sleeping around too." I turned to the door and found my grandmother smiling at me. She walked into the room and gestured to my parents to go out and leave us both together.

"Hi granny.. since when you're eavesdropping?" I asked and she chuckled as she sat beside me.

"Since your dad asked if Caleb's the one who broke your heart." She said and I heard my parents closed the door.

"Well.. that's right."

"I was mad too when your grandfather slept around with girls and I was done with him at that time. I mean.. not done like completely done because I loved him so much."

"Well.. why don't you just leave him and find another guy?"

"Serena, love is really complicated. It's not as simple as you think and I understand that you don't want to fall in love again because it hurts." She said as she pointed at my heart and I nodded.

"You're an adult now, honey. I know that you're mad and broken but the best revenge for Caleb is to show that you're happy without him. You're capable to be with someone else.. make him regret that he left you just because he's still young. I mean.. Lemiere always that dumb, they will always be dumb in love. They need a big slap in the face for it."

"I know, granny." I said and she smiled.

"I'm not asking to get revenge on Caleb." She said as she shook her head.

"I'm not planning it either because he's still in my circle and taking revenge on him is just.."

"You are right. You're a really wonderful person inside and out, Serena. You're just mad and want something to take over your emotion by sleeping around but please stop it.. I know Cesantio blood is running in you but you're not as idiot as your grandpa.. I know that." That made me laugh a little.

"So.. are you going to try to meet Gabriel?" She asked and I nodded.

"I will, thanks grandma."

"Welcome honey and you know.. if you want me to kick Caleb's ass.. I can." She said proudly and I nodded laughing.

"I know.. I think it's time for me to grow up. I'm 23 almost 24 so.. yeah. I think it's time for a change. Don't you think?" I asked and she nodded.

"I'm sorry for making you worry."

"We love you, Serena, that's why we want you to change." She smiled as she patted my back.

"Thankyou.. and I guess it's time to move on."

"I'm not asking you to fall in love right away or be with someone in a flick. Take your time and enjoy your life. You're still so young so.. have fun but don't screw around." She warned and I nodded.

"That's my girl.. so.. I cooked your favorite mushroom soup and cookies.. how about we go downstairs?" She asked as she put her hand in front of me. I took it and we walked downstairs together enjoying our family time.
