Chapter Thirty Five

Samantha

I paced anxiously around the house but I couldn't find Adrian. I checked the bathroom, the kitchen, and the room but he's not home. I sighed in frustration and headed to the bathtub to wash away the blood stains on my body.

There are many bruises on my body but it can only be seen if I'm naked. I turned the faucet and let the warm water wash away the dirt. I scrubbed softly on my skin and finally I got out of the bathtub and quickly dressed in simple clothes.

I wore a black T-shirt and jeans to cover up the bruises on my knee. I tied my hair in a neat bun and quickly grabbed the keys and headed out of the door. I drove to the company and when I got there, I hurried inside.

I saw the receptionist, Hailey at the desk and asked, “Have you seen Adrian today?” she glanced up from her desk and said, “No. I haven't seen him today,” she continued, “Is everything alright?”

I shook my head and muttered, “No, there's nothing actually.” I smiled and she nodded nervously, glancing at me.
