Daisy’s POV

The pack grounds were still a mess long after the portal closed.

Dust clung to the air. Blood stained the earth in ugly patches. Injured warriors groaned softly where they had been left. No one spoke above a whisper.

Ian, the twin, Amelia, Kyle, Dusk… all of them were gone.

And now the mess was mine to handle.

I stood at the center of the grounds, Levi just a step behind me. I could feel every pair of eyes on my back: fear, guilt, and expectation—somehow twisted in a form of hope.

Injured warriors groaned softly where they had been left. No one spoke above a whisper.Ian, the twin, Amelia, Kyle, Dusk… all of them were gone. And now the mess was mine to handle.I stood at the center of the grounds, Levi just a step behind me. I could feel every pair of eyes on my back: fear, guilt, and expectation—somehow twisted in a form of hope.My wolf finally stirred and let out a low growl. She had been watching everything with quiet judgment, and now she wanted us to fix everything without showing any form of fear or weakness.“Where is he?” I asked calmly. No one answered.I turned slowly, letting my gaze settle on a trembling warrior. “Where is Gilbert?”He swallowed hard. “Hiding in the… the dungeon, Alpha. He also locked up Elder Alina.”He really was a freaking pest.“Levi,” I said quietly. “Stay here.”He caught my wrist gently

Kyle’s POV“You just wanted to show off, didn’t you, Dad?” I asked the moment we stepped fully out of the portal and the magic sealed behind us.The air of our pack hit my lungs, grounding and alive. Yet the lingering echo of battle still clung to my skin, humming under it like leftover lightning.“Ian did,” Father Axel’s calm voice echoed through the pack mind-link. “And he wanted us to exercise.”I snorted softly, though pride warmed my chest. Typical Dad. If there was an excuse to demonstrate dominance, power, and remind the world why our pack stood at the top—he would take it.Still, something felt… different.I scanned the clearing, my brows knitting together when I didn’t immediately sense him nearby.“Father,” I called through the mind-link again, more carefully this time. “It’s been a long time.”There was a pause.Then—warmth.“I’ll be with you shortly,” he replied. The moment his voice faded, Lionel surged inside me, his very existence practically making it known how happy h

Daisy’s POV“We have to get back to my pack,” I said firmly to Alpha Kyle.We were grateful—truly—for the hospitality, for the protection, and for the alliance. But my chest felt tight the longer we stayed. My wolf was restless, pacing quietly inside me, and I could feel Levi’s unease too. He hadn’t complained once, but I knew him. Home pulled at him the same way it pulled at me.Kyle studied me for a moment before nodding slowly. “Will you be passing through Lui’s pack?” he asked.“No,” I answered without hesitation. “We’ll be driving straight back home.”Something flickered in his eyes, like he was thoughtful about something. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone, calling someone.“Yes, Uncle. It’s me,” he said calmly as he turned slightly away. “Can you come by? Now, if you don’t mind.”He ended the call before I could even ask who he was speaking to and slipped the phone back into his pocket like nothing unusual had just happened.I barely had time to react before th

Gilbert’s POV“Is everyone important here?” I asked at the top of my voice as I scanned the pack members gathered around the training field. They stood in small clusters—warriors and a few omegas. Their faces were marked with concern, curiosity, and unease. I could smell it on them: doubt, fear, and confusion. That was good because that's exactly what I wanted from them. Confusion made people easy to lead.“Well, not everyone,” one of the warriors answered. “Alina refuses to come.”I snorted. “To hell with that old hag. She’s just a useless omega, and soon she will kick the bucket.”The field went quiet.A few heads snapped up. Others shifted uncomfortably. I smiled slowly, enjoying the way tension spread.“What?” I continued, raising my voice. “Just because she’s been clinging to that healer and kissing Daisy’s feet doesn’t make her important. It doesn’t make her superior to me or any other warrior here. She's a dumb, old omega.”Murmurs broke out immediately.“Don’t look at me like

Ian’s POVI studied our so-called guests with a hard stare as I leaned back in my chair. The room felt heavier than usual, thick with unfamiliar scents and guarded instincts. When I finally shifted my gaze, it landed on the twins—both of them sitting stiffly, their eyes sharp and their attention fixed almost entirely on the female Alpha.I sighed quietly and spoke through the pack’s mind link."I know you asked for training equipment for your own reasons, but why the hell are you still here?"There was a pause before Evan responded, his tone firm."You seriously expect us to leave after seeing these two?"I scoffed internally."They’re just pups," I replied coldly, folding my arms across my chest. Before I could add anything else, Kyle cleared his throat, drawing my attention. The look he gave me told me everything—I hadn’t been as subtle as I thought. He’d been listening.“So, Dusk,” Kyle said evenly, turning back to our guest, “what brings you to our pack?”Dusk straightened slightl

Kyle’s POV“Lui,” I answered immediately, unable to stop the small smile that tugged at my lips when I saw his name flash on my phone. It had been weeks since we last spoke.“Tell me you’re going through the same hell,” he groaned. “Training nonstop. My bones hate me.”I laughed quietly. “Well, how about we settle that pain with a friendly spar one of these days?”“Oh, absolutely. But I’ll have to check my schedule,” he said, sounding way too serious.“You have a schedule? Since when?” I asked, surprised.“Since Dusk bullied me into getting one. Don’t tell me Larson didn’t do the same to you. Those two have become the new ‘it’ couple of best friends. They plan everything.”I shook my head, still smiling. “If it’s working for you, then maybe I’ll consider making one before this year ends. Anyway, how’s everyone back at the pack?”“They’re doing well. How about your side? And my sister? No issues with her pregnancy, I hope?”“You know me,” I answered proudly. “I’m always at her side whe
