When Polly's parents were butchered by a rival pack and her house burned to the ground, she's forced to live with the Alpha she once loved. The same Alpha who looked at her like she’s filth under his boot. But, there’s just one problem. This isn’t real life. It’s her book. And she’s not the heroine. She’s the villain. The obsessed one. The mad one. The one who kills the Alpha in a fit of twisted love, and dies for it. Now, trapped in the body of her villain, Polly Lackris, Adelaide vows to change her story. This time, no obsession. No romance. No falling back into the arms of the man fated to hate her. But fate has a mind of its own. And the Alpha who once loathed her begins to look at her like he wants her. Touches her like he owns her, and kisses her like she placed the sun. She didn’t come here to love him. She came to save them both. But the story is rewriting itself— And the ending she feared may be the one she can’t escape. Because the man she’s falling for all over again... Might still die by her hands.
ดูเพิ่มเติมA pair of eyes fluttered in a vast, beige-colored room. The early morning light poured through the windows in golden streaks, too bright for winter. Birds chirped softly outside, their wings tapping gently against the glass.
Adelaide squinted, shielding her face with the back of her hand.
This is weird… she thought groggily. When did the sun get so bright in winter?
She stretched her legs, expecting to feel the familiar emptiness of her queen-sized bed, but her foot collided with something warm. And solid. Like a man's.
Oh…
It had been ages since she'd been with a man and now she's getting these carnal dreams, she thought.
But before she could pull back, a rough hand slipped up her thigh and wrapped around her waist, pulling her close. A low moan escaped her lips before she could catch it.
She shouldn't be enjoying this… yes she was single, but she wasn't depraved.
And yet…
A second hand cupped her boobs and squeezed rubbing circles over her buds.
Adelaide felt a wetness in between her legs and she bit her lower lip;
Alright… that was enough, time to wake up, she had a book signing today, the sun was up, she couldn't be here fantasizing and dreaming about a man that… wait…
Adelaide made to stand up, but the hand was still firmly around her waist. Her brows furrowed as full awareness began to set in.
"You feel so good, baby."
A deep voice spoke from behind her and in a flash, Adelaide jumped off the bed, her small hands instantly going over her bare chest.
"Who are you? What are you doing here!"
She screamed, the hairs on her body standing upright.
Who was this man? How did he get into her room… hold on…
Adelaide's eyes looked around the room and all color drained from her face.
This was not her room… gone were her soft pink walls, her vanity cluttered with different brands of lipsticks, and the cheap monalisa knockoff which she got from puertorico hanging above her vanity.
In its place was a massive, luxuriously furnished chamber. Ornate paintings lined the walls. A chandelier glimmered overhead. Red Persian rugs cushioned her feet. The bed was easily seven feet wide.
Wait a damn minute…
The last thing she remembered was drinking wine to stupor before drifting off to sleep, how the hell did she get here? Did she sleep walk!
Adelaide's eyes darted back to the man on the bed who was staring at her puzzled as though he was as confused as she was, her eyes gleamed with fear, she moved backward until her back was against the wall.
Who are you!!! What did you do to me… oh god… did we…
She swallowed when she felt her insides pulsing as though something thick, hard and huge had been in it, her legs instantly clamped together at the thought.
The man on the bed was good looking, his eyes were a golden hue and they shimmered under the early morning sunlight that seeped in through the windows. His chest was toned and his biceps flexed as he brushed his hand through his white silvery hair.
He looked like he walked out of a painting, she hadn't seen someone as good looking and drop dead gorgeous.
Adelaide felt her insides ache with want like she needed him inside of her again. Her nipples hardened at the thought and she quickly shook her head.
What the hell! Why was she gawking over this man! She didn't even know where the hell she was!
This must be a dream right? Wake up!
Adelaide slapped herself hard against the cheek but all she she felt was a soaring pain course through her and she screamed.
''Help! Somebody please help!''
''What are you doing?"
The man on the bed asked brows creased, one arched.
Adelaide pointed a shaking finger at him; "Who the hell are you? How did I get here? WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME!"
He stared at her for a beat, then scoffed. In a blink of a second, he stood up from the bed, and the sheets fell away.
Adelaide's eyes widened. Her gaze dropped before she forced it back up.
He was naked. Stark.
Lord.
She looked away quickly, cursing under her breath as he approached her, her hands fiddling at her sides, she didn't have time to think as in a flash of a second his hand was wrapped around her neck and she was lifted off the ground, her toes barely scrapping the floor.
"You drugged me." He growled. "Got me to sleep with you and now you're playing innocent? You must be quite silly if you think you can wriggle your way out of this with your stupid little games. Polly."
Adelaide's legs fought in the air as her face turned beet red, her eyes almost out of her sockets.
"Stop… you… are hurting me…"
She croaked, wrapping her hands around his, her fingers digging into his flesh as she fought for her life.
The man let her go of her and she slumped to the floor like a bag of sand, bursting into a fit of cough.
Polly? He had called her Polly, who was Polly? Wait… that was the name of the villain in her book 'Tempting him…
Was he one of her deranged fans? Did he drug her and kidnap her to act out his twisted fantasies?
"Get out of my sight before I lock you up in the cellar and this time not even your parents would be able to get you out."
The man seethed his voice filled with so much vim as he walked past her and through the adjourning door, slamming it roughly after him.
"Was he insane?! What was going on?"
Adelaide quizzed herself. Was she in a horror movie of some sort?
Polly was the villain in her book and she had drugged the male lead, Alpha Rael and slept with him, was he recreating that scene?
Was he trying to put her through her own book?
Adelaide's eyes teared up as she scrambled to her feet. She had to get out. Now.
She sprinted to the door—but paused as she passed a floor-length mirror, her feet coming to an abrupt stop.
Adelaide's heart picked up speed, the hairs on her body standing up straight;
What was that?
She didn't know everything about herself at a glance, but one thing she could not mistake was how tall she was. She was tall for a woman, even as a child she towered above most of her peers; she was at least a 5'8, but the reflection she saw in the mirror was that of a 5'2 woman, 5'4 at best.
Adelaide swallowed hard and slowly turned towards the mirror and that was when her world came crashing down.
Staring back at her were not her sea blue eyes but gray ones which looked like they've been bleached by the sun; her lips were no longer the tiny little mouth which she lined with a lip liner to make them seem fuller, they were pouty red lips that looked like they've been roughly kissed over and over.
Her hair were blood red, the hair color she gave Polly….
Wait, Adelaide took a cursory look at the reflection and it began to dawn on her.
She instantly jerked backwards, falling on the floor, her face turning deathly pale.
''It can't be… no… no… did she…
The door to the bathroom opened again and this time the man walked out tying a towel around his waist, his hair dripping water down his body;
Adelaide turned to look at him…
Golden eyes… white silky locs of hair, chiseled body…
He was walking towards her now, his eyes a deathly glare.
"Alpha… Alpha Rael?"
The man paused in his tracks and smirked:
"Remain there and my name would be the last word you speak before I sniff the living life out of you."
Adelaide knew better than to wait to see if Rael meant what he said; she bolted towards the door, but as she got to the door, it swung open by itself and two guards rushed in.
"Alpha! There's trouble!"
They screamed, their faces stained with horror.
A frown knotted Rael's brows and he watched the men, a hint of annoyance in his eyes. Whatever made them barge into his room should better be worth it, else their heads would be hanging on a stake by noon.
"What is it?"
"Alpha... The Luna… is dead."
The Elders' eyes widened in shock and horror. What was happening?Everyone stared at each other in disbelief, this was the first time someone had survived the Moon Trial.Does this mean she was innocent?Rael was dumbfounded as he gazed at her form lying on the ground, still coughing water out of her mouth. No one dared to touch her, afraid of what would happen. This had never happened before in the history of the Bloodmoon Pack. After a few seconds, Alpha Rael summoned courage and moved forward. He helped her stand up, steadying her. He gently moved the hair from her face, pus
At that moment, the wrought iron gates pulled open, and Polly stepped in, accompanied by the guards who had gone to get her. All eyes turned to her, and the shrine instantly became quiet, like the first fall of snow in winter.Rael was about to speak when he heard the gates creak. He turned to the entrance, and as though in slow motion, his heart beat slowed. He’d seen her a thousand times, but at that moment, as he watched her walk towards him, it felt like he was looking at her for the first time. The surroundings seemed to disappear, his gaze stood transfixed. His chest ached and his eyes burned as if holding back tears. He wante
Polly held up a white ball gown as she showed it to her girls, her head poking from the side as she peered at them. ''What do you think?'' she asked, blinking excitedly. “Milady!” they both shouted in unison, fear and concern written all over their faces. The gown was a stunning white, made of satin that shimmered under the morning sun. It had a fitted bodice with an immodest neckline edged in delicate lace. The long, sheer sleeves were adorned with tiny pearls that caught the light. The skirt flared out dramatically, cascading to the floor in layered waves, each hem trimmed with unsubtle silver accents.“I need something that says ‘I'm here!’ Something extraordinary. Epic. The moment I walk in, I want everyone's lips to fall open in surprise, and that godforsaken Alpha? I hope his eyes fall off when he beholds me!” Adelaide declared, arms raised, basking in the glory of her wild imaginations. Her eyes were shut, her fingers trembling.Vannessa and Russo exchanged wide-eyed glances
Adelaide sat before her vanity mirror in a daze. She had been sitting there for over two hours, staring at her reflection, completely unmoving.Behind her, her mother and aunt shouted at each other, their voices rising and falling like waves. Her maids shook her shoulders, crying, panicking—wondering if she had finally lost it.And indeed, she had.She was going to die tomorrow. How the hell had she signed up for her own death with her own hands?Tell me about it, I seek an apology if I'm innocent, huh?Adelaide almost laughed at herself when she remembered the look on Alpha Rael's face as she taunted him. So he knew all along that the trial was a death sentence!Oh, may the moon spirit punish his moda effin soul! How did this Polly girl fall in love with that beast!Arghhhh!!!Adelaide grabbed her hair with both hands and yanked, screaming like a mad woman."Princess, please!" her maids cried, rushing toward her, trying to pull her hands away before she hurt herself. It was useless.
Rael took long, purposeful strides as he exited the hall, not sparing the crowd a single glance. His chest burned with anger, pride wounded, ego bruised. She better be innocent, he thought darkly. Because if she's guilty, I'll burn her body and leave her carcass to the birds of the air.He stormed into his chambers, crossing the room in a few quick steps. Grabbing a cup from the table, he poured himself a glass of water and downed it in one gulp, the cup slipping from his hand and crashing onto the floor, shattering into a thousand pieces. His gaze shifted toward the mountains beyond the window; the sun had disappeared underneath the sky and dark clouds were gathering. It was going to rain.At that moment, the door swung open. Rael turned to the door in annoyance. When he saw who was at the door, he exhaled heavily:"I want to be left alone."However, Jared, the Beta and Rael’s closest friend since childhood, ignored him entirely."Rael, that girl asked for an apology," Jared said, st
"I want to be tried by the Moon Spirit."It took only three seconds of absolute quiet before the entire hall erupted into utter chaos.Everyone began screaming and cursing at Polly, as though she had just committed a crime worse than the murder she was already accused of."How dare you request a trial by the Moon Spirit? Have you no shame left in you?""Do you wish to desecrate the sacred stream with your cursed soul?"The crowds cursed at Polly, their voices toppling over one another, but she just shut her eyes, unmoving. The guards struggled to calm the crowd, but the more they tried, the more frantic the uproar grew.Rael sat motionless, staring at the woman kneeling before him. He wasn’t sure if he was amused or simply stunned. The Polly he knew wasn’t this smart. He had expected her to collapse, sobbing and begging for mercy. Instead, she had demanded to be tried by the sacred Moon Spirit.Rael’s lips curved into a smirk. There was only one outcome for a person tried by the Moon
