Chapter-2
Avyanna Erryn ROOSEVELT'S POV
"Hello? To earth, Miss Avy. Did you go to your fantasy land again? I asked what time you were leaving. I asked my dad, and he said it’s okay if I go and drop you at your new pack," Ashton said, and I sighed.
"Ashton, we have been through this talk already. You don't have to go through so much hassle. I have traveled around earlier too and -"
"I know you can handle yourself pretty well since that's what you've been doing your whole life. I have heard those repeated lines many times. But I want to do it, okay? Please? I know it might sound a bit cheesy, but I want to spend these last moments with you. I don't even know why you agreed to leave. My dad and mom were ready to keep you at our home. If your new dad hasn't called him and asked for your transfer, I swear my mother wouldn't have -"
"Hey, it's alright. Your dad is an alpha. He has a duty to do. He can't do anything about it. Honestly, earlier, I thought he was the one who suggested to my mother that I should live with them. I didn't know my new dad was so eager to get me. Maybe I can have a little chance at family love?" I said, his sad eyes making me sigh.
I seriously hate when people that I care about get sad because of something related to me.
"You do know I am not taking you with me if you look at me like this, right?" I asked before rolling my eyes, and he chuckled awkwardly before holding my hand and pulling me in for a hug.
Holding me tightly, he kissed my temple before pulling away and looking me in the eyes.
"I swear if I was of age, then I would've declared you as my mate already. Why the hell did my parents not have me a year earlier?!" He groaned while looking in the sky, and I could only chuckle at his words before patting his chest.
"It's okay, Ash. Maybe that's what fate wanted. Fate wanted us to meet like this, and depart in the witness of the blossoming smiling flowers that look at us and become -" I started dramatically.
"Stop, okay? I got it. You don't need to go all nerdy on me," he said before laughing, making me laugh in return as I hooked my arms around his neck and pulled his cheeks adoringly.
"Honestly, I don't even know if I will be able to get a friend like you there. If I knew Brian was a jerk like this, I would've rather gone for you than him," I said with a dry chuckle.
Of course, that was just a lie to console him so that he doesn't get teary, making me turn polite, a thing that I wasn't used to anymore.
"Don't! Don't you dare make a friend like me, okay? And don't you dare think about that scumbag who didn't deserve you from the very beginning. Besides, we are friends forever. You promised me that, remember? And as a friend who has your best interest in mind, I forbid you to get too cozy and familiar with that pack and its people. You are coming here with me after a year," Ashton said, and I smiled before shaking my head.
"Yeah, I remember. Also, do you think I will be able to live peacefully when my mom is in the same house? However, I would still suggest you start looking for a girlfriend now that I will be gone. Maybe you will get a good girl here who is compatible to be your mate and the love of your life. I mean, look at me. Who am I? A bastard child -" I started with dry humor.
"Let's go. We will get late if we don't leave now," Ashton said, cutting me off in between, with a hint of anger, making me sigh. It has become his habit to dodge this conversation no matter how much I try to make him understand that he is the future alpha, and no one will approve of my friendship with him.
Sitting inside the car, I smiled at him, looking at the pack one last time, sad that I honestly had no one by my side to come and tell me they'll miss me.
"Is Maddie not coming?" I asked Ashton, and he smiled helplessly, making me nod my head.
I understand. Her parents never approved of her friendship with me.
Taking a deep breath, I closed my eyes before mentally saying goodbye to the old pack.
Enceladus Pack. I hope you are ready to welcome the disaster that is coming to you. I thought as my sad smile turned to a wicked one, as I leaned my head on Ashton's shoulder, ready to sleep for the 6 hours ride.
After 6 hours~~
"What are you thinking about? Is it something along the lines of how you'll miss a handsome guy with the name Ashton?" Ashton asked, and I chuckled at him.
"Seriously? I am thinking about you? Do you think my standards are so low?" I asked, and Ashton nudged me playfully before looking at me with wide eyes feigning hurt, making me roll my eyes in return.
"You wounded my pride. Only a kiss on my cheeks can fix this now," He said, and I chuckled as he joked around to improve my mood.
“Kiss my ass. All you’ll get is a kick in the butt,” I said, and he chuckled before shaking his head.
"However, you are right. Maybe I will miss the guy with the name Ashton, but it's not like I can do something about it. Maybe I'll just punch a few guys around and make new friends again. So don't worry about me and go without any remorse," I said, and he chuckled at my words, remembering the time when I had punched him, and the next thing he did was ask me to become his friend.
The memory that was supposed to be a humiliation for him was one of his best memories according to him.
After some time, he squinted his brows before looking at the guard, whose approval we were waiting for so that we could enter the pack.
Once the guard gave us the green signal, Ashton asked the guard for directions before driving in.
To say I was impressed with the way the pack was played out would be an understatement.
It was fabulous. The amount of greenery was especially refreshing after living in the packs that look like human civilization.
It was strangely calming my nerves as I had always felt a connection with nature.
Like I belong with it. Maybe it was because of the special powers that I have? Whatever it was, now that I look at the greenery around here, I don't think it will be too hard to survive here.
"Why the hell are there so many forests here?" Ashton said aloud before grunting as we got down from the car, making me chuckle. I am sure he is jealous because he knows how much I love forests and everything.
"You must be Avyanna. The alpha will be here shortly," A guy suddenly said, almost making me jump because of the sudden intrusion, making Ashton tighten his hold on my waist.
"Relax, no one is going to hurt you," Ashton whispered in my ears, and I had the urge to roll my eyes at him. However, I resorted to taking a deep breath before nodding my head.
It looks like he thinks I was scared because this guy sneaked upon me.
Taking a calming breath to keep my emotions in check, I mustered up the most innocent yet confident look before looking at him.
"And you are?" I asked, smiling politely, taking in the appearance of the new guy.
‘Innocent my ass. If they came to know who you are, they’ll be tucking their tails between their legs,’ My so-called wolf said, and I bit my lips helplessly at her comment.
"I am Alex, the beta of this pack," He said before extending his hand that I shook firmly.
"Nice to meet you, future alpha," Alex said to Ashton, who looked at him warily before nodding and shaking his head.
Seeing his edgy stance, I placed my hand on his chest before patting him.
"Hey, don’t be like this. I am fine. I was just taken by surprise. Don't worry. If you want, then you can leave. It is getting late anyway. You don't need to stay and -"
"I will leave once the alpha is here. It is not right manners to enter another pack and return without meeting the alpha when he is present in the pack," Ashton explained, and I nodded my head before turning around as I distanced myself from him just in time when I saw a man coming towards us.
And heavens forbid me, but to say I was amazed would be an understatement.
‘Wow, what a Greek god! The kind of handsomeness I will approve of you,’ My wolf said, making me look at her in annoyance.
‘He is supposed to be my brother, stupid. Get your hormones together,’ I reprimanded her, and she pouted her lips before huffing loudly.
Honestly, it doesn’t matter if I reprimand my wolf. What she said wasn’t exactly wrong. Now I know why the guy was called one of the most handsome men. His jet black hair with light brown eyes that looked like having a depth and mystery of the ocean caught my eyes.
He looked at me so mysteriously and deeply, that for a moment I felt scared. Not because of his powerful aura, but because I was scared he would peel my defenses and know who I was.
"Alpha," Alex nodded to him. However, he didn't look at him. His eyes were fixated on me as he did a once over of me, making me raise my brows.
"Ashton," The alpha nodded at him, and Ashton nodded back before kissing my forehead one last time.
"I am just a call away if you feel uncomfortable here, okay?" Ashton said, making me nod my head as he sat in his car and drove away, leaving me in this unknown territory by myself now.
Huh, here starts my new life with a new identity and new pretentious methods to conceal how defective I and my wolf are.
'Hey! You can't call me defective. Just because I haven't taken over you completely, you can't call me that. It makes me feel weird,' My wolf said, and I rolled my eyes at her before scoffing.
'Yeah sure. I'll call you whatever I want. If you want to fight with me, then come out,' I said, and she puffed her cheeks like every time before sitting like an angry panda, making me chuckle before I coughed a bit as I remembered I wasn't alone.
Chapter-3 AVYANNA ERRYN ROOSEVELT'S POV "Miss Avyanna Roosevelt, right?" I heard the deep manly voice from beside me, making me take a deep calming breath and turn my head to look at my brother before I involuntarily took a step back when I saw how close he was. Damn! Even his voice is so deep, manly, and - ‘Sexy? Worth moaning over?’ My wolf suggested, and I bit my lips before sighing helplessly. ‘Annoying would be the best term to define both you and him. Now can you shut up? Or if you have better plans, then why don’t you come out and talk to him in my place?’ I said, and it was enough for her to shut up. Turning around to my left, I noticed Alex was nowhere in sight, leaving me and the alpha, aka, my stepbrother alone. "That's right. Hello, stepbrother," I said, smiling at him, and he smiled back at me before nodding his head as if amused before shaking his head. "You are an interesting one," He said as if it had some hidden meaning before turning around, making me squint m
Chapter-4AVYANNA ERRYN ROOSEVELT'S POV"Seriously? Why would you do that? What was that all about?" I asked annoyed, once we were out of the elders' view, placing my hands on my waist as I gave him the look, making Evander look at me with squinted brows. Though he was squinting his brows, anyone can see the smirk that is playing at the corner of his lips and the mischief in his eyes."What was what?" He asked with a smirk, making me grit my teeth. I am sure he understood what I am talking about and is just making fun of my situation at the moment."Now don’t act dumb as if you don’t know anything. You know exactly what I am talking about, alpha brother. You clearly knew I wasn't planning to stay here. I think I have made myself clear to you. Why would you lie to your father and tell him I have decided to live here and about what kind of bedroom I want when that's the last thing on my mind?" I asked, and he paused, turning to look at me as he started backing me, making me stumble ba
Chapter-5EVANDER MAXIMUS STERLING POVTo say she was trouble in disguise would be an understatement. Though she was looking all polite and humble on the outside, the changing expression on her face from time to time was an indication that she was trying her best to conceal her emotions, the emotions of mischief and trouble. When dad had said my new mother's daughter will be coming and staying with us, I couldn't give two damn about her. I mean, I was thrilled because dad always wanted a daughter, but I didn’t have any other thoughts nonetheless. Yes, I agreed to be her protective brother and treat her nicely, but that was all because of his wish. I wasn't in favor of the idea, but I wasn't against it either. He had said she was sweet, cute, and polite, and let me tell you that's the most useless description he had used for her.Polite, calm, and sweet? She was more sarcastic, seductive, and alluring."Evander, I have arranged for the things you asked me for. I have sent two unifor
Chapter-6AVYANNA ERYYN ROOSEVELT POV'Seriously girl? You are vegetarian? That's what you have to say to him? What is wrong with you? You have never been so shy or timid in front of anyone regardless of his or her position. Get a grip on yourself. You were here to talk about how he shouldn't tell anyone you are his sister and make things hard for you,' I told myself before looking at Evander, who had his back towards me as he was washing vegetables right now."Alpha brother, I actually had something to talk to you," I said, and he half-turned to me before nodding his head as if wanting me to continue."I don't want to be called your stepsister," I said, directly coming to the point, and he paused in his action before checking the noodles and then turning to look at me."What do you mean, Avy?" He asked me, my nickname rolling from his tongue, making me bite my lips as I sighed again to get a grip over myself. "We are going to go to the same school, no? It is already going to be hard
Chapter-7AVYANNA ERYYN ROOSEVELT POV"Seriously? You are kidding me, right? There is no way in hell I am going to ride in the car like you," I said for the umpteenth time as Evander, his beta Alex, and the guy from last night, Jason, sat on the table while looking at me as if I was some kind of amusing toy for them."Mr. Jason, you tell me. Will there be no rumors between me and my alpha brother if we go in the same car? Won't they cook something in their heads when they see their teacher coming with the new girl? Even if they don't guess he is my brother, they'll know that I am somehow related to him, and what will be the use of going through the hassle of hiding things then? And even worse, what if they think I am his girlfriend or something like that? It would be a disaster," I said, feeling annoyed."Is there a problem with being with me? And why would it be a disaster if someone calls you my girlfriend? Why do you talk like it's a matter of shame?" Evander asked me annoyed, and
Chapter-8 AVYANNA’S POV "Is something wrong?" I asked again when he didn't say anything for a good second, and he sighed before giving me the look that said, 'you know why I am here, don't try to act smart,' and I just sighed before nodding my head. "Fine. I get it. Ask whatever you want to ask me. Let's just get this over with," I said, and he sat on the bench, looking at me closely, his scent flaring my nostrils, making me bite my lips as I leaned back in my seat to feel less affected by his presence. "Can you tell me what it was that had you so stressed when I found you in the corridor? I know you are troublesome and everything, but I am not stupid to not notice the change in your behavior from the morning. You were so troubled about something that you weren't even looking where you were going. Tell me, what is it? Has someone said anything that distressed you?" He asked me, looking at me genuinely, and I didn't know what to say. When was the last time someone has asked me
Chapter-9AVYANNA'S POV'What was that all about? Don't you think he was a bit weird?' My wolf asked me, and I quirked my brows at her.'A little bit? Are you sure he wasn't completely insane? I don't even know how to react anymore to the situation I am currently in. Like, what are we? Should I treat him as my brother or as a stranger who is providing for my temporary lodging?' I asked before sighing loudly when I reached the canteen.Entering the large area, I nodded my head, visibly satisfied with the layout of how large it was. It was quite spacious, and there were plenty of tables, making it look like a big restaurant."Haha. Do you think you can get away with giving this lousy confession card to my man? What were you even thinking? Did you think I wouldn't notice? Do you think a good for nothing ugly bitch like you can win my man's heart?" I heard a shrill voice, making me turn to the right side of the canteen, where a small crowd was forming.Walking a few steps closer to the c
Chapter-10 AVYANNA'S POV "Rose, you don't need to mess with them. They are not good people and will make your life problematic in this school. They belong to one of the strongest packs, and as pathetic as it sounds, their alpha never makes a move regarding what they do either. She has great influence in the school too," Cassandra said to me, and I chuckled darkly. "Cassandra, listen to me, and listen to me very carefully because I won't be repeating it," I said, using Evander's lines from earlier. "I am an easy-going person, and I hate to find trouble with people. Well, that's only until someone comes along and messes with me. Who do you think I am? I am no god of forgiveness. I get angry, and I get out of control when someone challenges my morals like this. I don’t take shit from anyone. I might get outnumbered in front of them, but if someone questions me and annoys me, I am not going down without a fight. I just happen to be in a bad mood today, and I am going to use that energy
