The Killer

The day dawned crisp and clear.

The sun poured through her window. Another day had dawned, bringing with it new hopes and aspirations.

The light of dawn seeped into Diana's room. She rubbed her bleary eyes and walked to the window. There was a pearly glow in the sky.

The first rays of sunlight lit up her room. The dawn chorus of melodic birdsong drifted in.

She yawned loudly using the back of her palm to cover her mouth.

Getting up from her bed, Diana walked towards the window to get some fresh air. She spotted a crack in her window and was curious to know what caused it.

The lass got ready for the day and headed downstairs only to see the king and the two princes with her father who was weeping bitterly.

"What's going on?" She asked with a shaky voice, her face was sour. She forgot about the King's presence.

"Diana!" Her father gazed at her and then shook his head before looking away.
