I sucked in deep breathes of his scent and tried to be as discreet as possible while doing it. I hadn’t lied when I told him that he smelled good. His scent calmed the fear Bella’s actions had caused and the panic from Draven’s unexpected arrival.

Draven had left by the time I had build up the courage to exit the bathroom but nobody had told me what he said. I wasn’t sure whether I should ask or just remain silent and ignore the fact that Jackson might talk Draven into agreeing with him.

My body jerked in fright when Tyrone’s phone suddenly started ringing, breaking the tense silence that hung between us in the truck. Tyrone gripped the steering wheel with one hand and shifted in the seat to pull his phone from his pocket with his other hand.

“Michel,” he greeted. “No, we haven’t reached town yet.”
