“How bad is it?”

“I don’t know,” I muttered. “I didn’t want to get too close with Bella.”

“So it’s bad.”

I closed the bag and turned around to look at him. It wasn’t the first time we had lost animals on the ranch and I knew that it wouldn’t be the last time, but this time it was different.

“It might have been a wild animal,” I told him softly. “It might have been the storm we had.”

“A storm can’t kill five horses,” Michel growled.

My eyes darted around the barn. Lightning never struck the same place twice..

“I’m going back to get a closer look.” I ran a hand through my hair.

“You can’t go alone.”

“We can’t leave the girls here alone.”

Michel frowned at me. “It could be a trap, Ty.”

“If it is then they would get exactly what they want which is Sin.” Grabbing a shot gun from the hook on the wall, I turned to face him. “Jackson tried to grab her from the cottage. I wouldn’t be surprised if he killed the horses to make us go out there.”

“Which is why you can’t go alone.”
