The King calls for the royal doctor as he wants to know the reasons why his son is acting a different person on his birthday. He can't believe that his son kills an innocent man plus hurts his sister, Corine, in front of the others. It leaves a severe trauma in the hearts of some citizens.

The King sighs heavily in his chair as he strokes his forehead in stress.

"Your Highness, the royal doctor, William, is here to check Alphonso's condition," Minister Kingsley announce while bowing his head to the King. Kingsley feels sad about what happened.

"Good day, Your highness. May I check on Prince Alphonso's condition?" The royal doctor fixes his eyeglass with his middle finger as he speaks formally to the King with the usual stoic expression. His black eyes compliment his personality.

"Of course, Long time no see William," The King approves with a sad smile and proceeds immediately to lead the way to Alphonso's room.

They arrived in the said room. The knight guarding the Prince's room opens the door for them, welcoming them. The doctor examines the area. "Hack," the King coughs as his blood chills while powerful pheromones in the room are lingering in his nose. It is making the territory well defended against intruders. Luckily, for William in his profession. He is used to these kinds of scents.

He approaches the sleeping Prince in his white mattress while the Minister and King watch him silently. He checks Alphonso's pulse and temperature. It does not show a normal vital sign for him because the Prince is screeching while gasping air to catch his breath.

The royal doctor gets his candle herbs and lights them, then places them on the table near the Prince's bed. He sits on the vacant chair and gives the two, dagger narrowed eyes, "Tell me, what happened to him?"

Minister Kingsley shivers as he hears the question from the royal doctor. He clears his throat, hesitantly answer, "He-Uhh... He did not meet his mate on his twenty-first birthday. Is he-"

"-He is mateless..." The doctor announces before Kingsley could finish his question.

It makes the King and Minister drop their jaws to the confirmation they hear from the doctor.  It makes the King weak on his knees because he cannot imagine Alphonso being alone for his life. It will turn him to be a rogue.

"H-how can you say that, Wi-William?" The King calls for the doctor's name, searching for an answer. The doctor exhales heavily and scatches his nape. "His pheromones, I know you both knew he smells like a rogue wolf."

Then, the doctor's eyes stare at the candle in which the King and Minister follow the trace of his sight to glimpse at the green herbal candle.

"Those candles are made from Mullin plant. It will help to ease the pain from his lungs and to the people who will come to visit him since the plant collides with his pheromones. It will also prevent anyone from coughing, getting choke in this place," The doctor informs them, and it makes Hedery amaze because it works for him.

"What can I do for my son?" The King asks while biting his nails in worry.

"True, what can you do for him because time will come that he will be sick and tired of herbal medicine. He will snap our head in return as thanks for prolonging his agony." The doctor wraps his hand together and leans his chin on it.

The King frown from the knife tongue of William as he speaks that kills without stabbing. However, William notices the face as long a fiddle of the King.

"Hedery, I am sorry for your son because this is a grave matter. He might slowly die because no one can match his scent to calm him down. Only a mate does. This situation is more sorrowful than getting rejected by your mate because we all have a second chance partner if the Goddes grants. But for Alphonso, he never has one." William feels pity for the Prince, for he did not get a chance to feel what it is to have a pair.

"I-I can't announce him a King if he doesn't have a Queen to rule with him. The Kingdom will die if he fails to have a child to carry our legacy," The King drops on the floor, feeling like his world turns to hell.

"You have Corine, Hedery. Don't speak like you only have Alphonso." William reminds him of his daughter, Corine, who is badly hurt by her brother's hand.

"We know... We know...But a Princess can't rule because there is no military training offered for them. It is what we practiced for centuries," Minister Kingsley claims with a faint voice.

"I have an alternative solution for this though it is risky." The doctor says out words that make the King run to him and kneel.

"Please, Please, tell us, William. It is to save my son's life. I beg you to tell us." Minister Kingsley could no believe that the King is kneeling at the doctor, pleading like a hopeless man.

Kingsley's eyes glance at the Prince and tear up.

"Gather the unmated ladies from the neighboring Kingdom since most of the young werewolves in our Kindom have found their mate like Lady Marionette for Lord Kurt. Of course! The ladies must be Omegas to cease the Alpha pheromones." William divulges with a huff at the end of his sentence.

The King is stupefied as he cannot process what the royal doctor means, so as Minister Kingsley.

"I propose our King. You must hold a competition for the Prince's mate title." William looks like he is struggling to say while he bites his lips.

Then William continues to provide information about the rules, "Rule number one: The lady must be unmated omega werewolves in her age because if she is, it will bring both party chaos. Rule number two: There must be a challenge or test in accord with the qualities we need for a Luna, Queen of the Nation. Rule number three: The lady who cheats will have her punishment or shall be disqualified for the title. Rule number four: The Nation, we the citizens, must vote who pass the tests, and it can be approved or disapproved by the Prince. Rule number five: The chosen lady must vow Honesty, Loyalty, and Love to the Prince as to the people."

Kingsley is stunned by William's proposal as if it is easy, and he grills questions. "Wha-what if the ladies have their destined mates later on? What will happen to them? What is Alphonso won't allow it?"

William clicks his tongue as he doesn't have an idea about it too, but it's all he has at the moment, and he repeats, "I told both of you it is risky, but this is the way to keep the Prince alive. I had a feeling he will accept it."

The King bites his lower lip to bleed, clenching his hands to pops his veins. The doctor notices the King's change of behavior. He seems to be eager for the proposal. It electrified him.

"That was a ridiculous idea, my King. Forget about it. I must go and check Princess Corine." William stands from his seat as he takes back his words and fixes his white uniform.

The King stands in his way, "YOU MUST NOT GO, WILLIAM! WHAT IS THAT PROPOSAL OF YOURS!" He angrily speaks to the doctor, which twitches William's ears.

"Your highness... My proposal is about The Alpha Prince Alphonso in his Mate Selection."

"Well then, Kingsley, send a letter to our neighboring Kingdoms. This proposal shall be done." The King claims sternly due to the reason that he would do everything for his one and only son.

"Yes...Your Highness..." Kingsley says in a submission to the King's request while wishing for things to get better.
