31| This Was Better

Summer was literally trembling and still rooted to the spot as she watched the man leave, looking disgruntled and furious. She collapsed on the floor when her legs could no longer support her. She suddenly felt drained. This was like a deja vu. She didn’t know how long she sat there, staring at the door, fearing as if it would be flung open suddenly. She let out a strangled yelp when the door actually opened. Barbara entered and gasped. 

“Summer?” she murmured before rushing towards the girl and helping her up. The older woman guided her to the living room and making her sit. A glass of cold water was pressed into her hand. She gulped it down, realising how parched she was.

“What happened?” Liam asked after Summer had placed the glass back on the coffee table. The young seer stared blankly at Barbara before mumbling, “A...a
