By the time I reached the dining room, my heart was still racing. I don’t know what was more embarrassing,seeing Liam first thing in the morning while half-asleep or the way his eyes lingered on me like I was something rare. I tried to shake off the thought and focus on not tripping over my own feet as I walked in.

The Alpha and Luna,Liam’s parents, were already seated at the long wooden table. Everything about the room screamed “royal pack,” from the polished silver cutlery to the paintings of wolves running through forests on the walls.

“Good morning, dear,” Luna Rose said warmly, smiling at me. She looked radiant as always, her golden hair pulled into an elegant braid. “I’m glad you joined us.”

“Good morning, Luna,” I said softly, bowing my head slightly like Lily had taught me.

Alpha Raymond looked up from his cup of coffee and gave a short nod. “You’re looking much better, Maya. How’s the recovery going?”

“I’m fine now, thank you, Alpha.”
