CHAPTER 1

ATHENA’S P.O.V

"Why won't you just believe me Aiden? I said in a frustrated tone as tears poured down from my eyes.

He glanced at me with fury that was written all over his face, there was nothing I would tell him that would make him listen to what I am saying.

"Aiden, please listen to me", I yanked him by the arm and held him, trying to make him pay attention to me. But he immediately swatted my hands away.

"Do not touch me with those filthy hands, you whore!" he spat, "We both know that the child you are carrying isn't mine. Have you suddenly forgotten? The day I found you and your lover on our bed? You kept denying what I saw, what Greta saw, what we all saw!!!" his voice began to rise, yet it felt cold and dark, his voice was different, it was like I was staring at a different Aiden entirely.

"I don't know how Sebastian got there! I told you I didn't remember anything that happened, You know I would never cheat on you Aiden, This," I approached Aiden and placed his hands on my tummy, "this is our child, Aiden”

"It's the nerve for you to look me in the eyes and lie to me, you fucking Liar!" Aiden yelled, pushing me away from him and I stumbled, my belly barely missed the edge of the stairs as I fell.

My eyes widened in shock, I was completely taken aback by Aiden’s sudden outburst, I know he is mad but to act like this. I struggled to get back up on my feet. Before I could stand up completely, Aiden had walked past me going to the door.

"Would it really not matter to you if anything happened to me or our child? Do you really believe I would cheat on you?" I asked in tears at his nonchalant behavior towards me and the baby.

The question seemed to have made Aiden pause in his tracks. He turned around slowly to face me, his face expressing an indescribable emotion. My eyes began to itch again, and the tears came flowing down more than it did before.

I had a glint of hope shimmering in my heart, and I hoped that Aiden would listen and believe me.

He chuckled, "Do not ever call that bastard my child again, and now that you've mentioned it, upon the decree of I, Aiden Grimwald, the future Alpha of the Night Walker pack, rejects you, Athena Sanders as my mate and future Luna." he announced, his every word laced with spite as he glared at me.

"Aiden no, please, I didn't do anything wrong, the moon Goddess knows, I had nothing to do with Sebastian,” I sobbed. I felt a deep pain clutch my heart like my heart was about to be ripped off my chest.

My sobs and pleas were met with the cackles from Aiden. His face suddenly shifted back into the cold expression he had wore.

I watch Aiden as I saw him clench his eyes, the rejection between mate must get the bond broken and since Aiden had just rejected me, a part of the mate bond is broken until I accept his rejection should we be finally broken apart.

"I want you to leave this pack as soon as possible, if I return to see you still here, I wouldn't hesitate to put you in the dungeon" my eyes widened upon hearing what Aiden had just said.

"I think the moon goddess knew you would break our mate bond and got me a second mate, I now have a second mate. Now you tell me, why should I bother about the life of a promiscuous woman and that of her bastard child?"

A heavy silence erupted between the both of us, the howls of the wind enveloping the tense atmosphere. Dried tears on my cheeks as I stared at him in agony, I don’t know what have gotten into him.

"Even when you blatantly denied being with your lover, I still kept you in this pack. Against my every wish. Against everything I stand for, and today… Today you dare to stand before me and…" Aiden paused, drawing in a sharp breath.

"The only way I would still accept you as my mate is if that baby is gotten rid of. Otherwise, you can leave the pack together with that bastard you are carrying before I return" he said, then walked out through the huge entrance doors.

I remained on the floor, in shock and sheer pain from what I had just experienced. I let out a shrill cry, my heart aching as I did so.

I couldn't explain the rush of emotions I felt at that moment. This wasn't the Aiden I have come to love, this wasn't the Aiden I knew right from when we were children, the one whom I fell in love with, the one who had against everyone's wishes, stood by me and had mated me even when they all refused an omega to be their future Luna.

What could have possibly gone wrong? Why didn't he trust me anymore? He couldn't even give me the benefit of the doubt.

My mind suddenly wandered back to that night when I had woken up in Aiden’s chambers confused and found Sebastian fast asleep beside me with an angry Aiden standing by the door, together with Greta, our childhood friend and best friend.

I can't seem to remember how I had gotten into Aiden’s chambers that evening? My head began to ache as the memories of Aiden’s cold gaze towards me came rushing down on me, the cold look in his gaze like he doesn't know me.

I continued crying, then I heard footsteps coming from inside the pack house to the room.

THIRD PERSON'S P.O.V

"It is done" the young woman who wore a cloak over her head to hide her identity said.

"Thank you" the other woman smiled, at last she has gotten what she wanted and has been waiting for.

They parted ways and the woman made sure no one was watching then returned back to her pack.

A mischievous smile graced her lips as she walked to the pack house in search of the future Alpha.
