I still couldn't fathom his audacity to threaten me with my kids.

"See yourself out," I grunted with warning. I was barely holding back from losing my shit and seeing his face wasn't helping.

The rage boiling inside of me was almost consuming as I looked him dead in the eye but instead of withdrawing and apologising for his stupidity, Wayne moved in a surprising manner.

I double-blinked, startled when his index finger hovered in my face as he pointed to me with a scowl. His attitude was surprising. Never ever have this man disrespected my authority or gone against my wishes but it seemed his daughter was more important than the loyalty he pledged to his Alpha.

"Don't let your attitude bring suspecting eyes to us, Alpha Karson," he warned. "Do you know what'll happen if the whole pack gets to find out that the Alpha has kids outside the Pack?"

So his Beta CLEARLY has more authority than he does. Karson repeatedly belittled Alpha Lucas but Lucas isn't having his authority successfully challenged in his own pack. Clearly Lucas is the more powerful Alpha of the 2 and if Irene knew better, she'd stick with the winning team
