Azalea
I woke to the feeling of warm sunshine on my face. I remembered all of this was real and I only had 10 months of this before being free. I quickly threw on some capris, a tshirt and flip flops. Looking at the time, I only had about two hours before I had to meet them and I wanted to make the most of it. I ate a quick yogurt and threw a juice into my backpack before grabbing my key and some poptarts before heading out the door.
I got outside, stuffing the rest of the poptarts in my face as I walked to the forrest edge. Once I had gotten a little ways in to the tree line, I looked around and took a deep breath to ensure no one was around before undressing and putting my clothes into my bag. I found a hiding spot at the base of a tree to place my bag in before I shifted.
It was a little uncomfortable as I hadn't shifted in months - not being in an area that had enough trees and not wanting to ask my father for a run. Once I shifted, I stretched, feeling the wind ruffle my fur and taking in all the new scents. I checked my neck to make sure that I still had the key around my neck and then took off like a bolt of lightning. Feeling the earth beneath my paws, I let go and let my senses take me where they would go.
I headed up towards the mountain and made it almost to the Alpha Academy before I saw another wolf. He was bigger than me and shades of brown. I halted in my steps and stared at him curiously, having never actually seen another real werewolf. He growled at me and I remembered the key around my neck. I grabbed the laynard in my mouth and showed it to him and sat down. He moved slightly closer to inspect it and then shook his head no. I let it go to dangle back around my neck and then got up, intending on going around him. He stepped in front of me, nudged me back towards the other school and growling softly again.
I pushed him back, curious to go see the Alpha Academy and he snapped his teeth at me. I growled back at him, baring my teeth, causing him to do the same. I sighed and turned my back on him. I was irritated about not being allowed to go on, so I figured I'd annoy him too. When he came closer to nudge me back towards the school, I squated and peed right on his paws. I could hear him jump back in surprise, a weird noise coming from his muzzle before I ran off smiling.
I had smelled water on my way up the mountain and decided I would take a small detour to check it out. It was a lovely waterfall and river that ran through the whole area. I decided to play catch with the fish and splashed around until my fur was soaked. I reluctantly left, telling myself that I would have plenty of opportunties to come back this year.
I ran as fast as I could back to the school, hoping for two things - the first being that I would be mostly dry by the time I got back and the second being that I would'nt be too late. The odds were in my favor as I reached my bag and shifted back. My hair was only slightly damp, making the curls more prominent and turning my purple hair almost black. I quickly threw on my clothes and rushed to meet my father at the dean's office.
I downed the juice, then ran the remainder of the way down the hallway and up the stairs until I was right outside of his office. I raised my hand to knock when the door was suddently opened by my father.
He took in my rushed look with only a raised eyebrow and then ushered me in. The dean stood up to greet me and I nodded in silent acknowledgement. He asked me if I'd had a change to explore this morning, with a knowing glint in his eyes.
I smiled wide knowing why he asked and replied, "Yes, it was great. I have not been able to run free like that before without having to watch my back."
He nodded in understanding, but then said, " We don't allow students from here too close to the Alpha Academy. Those young men are learning how to control themselves and some have a very tenuous grip that can be easily broken, especially by a beautiful young she wolf. That's why the guard stopped you from getting close enough to leave a scent. Also, next time please do not urinate on the guards. it's definately not polite in any form."
I heard a masculine laugh break out and turned around to see a younger version of my father standing behind me, bent over laughing. I blushed and smiled, nodding to the dean in agreement. My father glared at my brother, who stopped immediately, and then looked back at me with a disapproving look. I rolled my eyes and shrugged, not really caring what he thought.
My father then took a moment to introduce them. I hadn't even noticed my sister standing there with a nasty look on her face. She was pretty to say the least, tall and lithe, her frame lean and her perfect blonde hair just brushing her shoulders. She had our father's eyes and a feminine version of his strong jaw line. She didn't even seem to acknowledge the introduction, but my brother did. He came right over and gave me a big hug, his huge frame dwarfing mine. I stood there, still, unsure of what to do. I finally patted his back and he released me. He was huge, slightly taller than our father with his chocolate brown hair cut short and built like a line backer. He had the same jawline as our father, but his eyes held so much more life and happiness. You could tell he smiled a lot and found real pleasure in life itself.
"Let's go do your assessments so we can get your class placement set," the dean said.
My father kissed my sister on the top of the head then told my brother to see that she got settled into her room before rejoining us. I watched them walk away, curious as to the way he had reacted to her. He almost didn't seem to mind me while it was easy to read the hatred from my sister.
The dean and my father walked together, discussing God only knows what as I was trailing behind them, lost in my own thoughts, not really paying much attention. They stopped at what appeared to be the nurse's office or clinic. Once inside, we were greeted by a very pleasant elderly nurse and I was taken back right away to a large room while my father and the dean sat in the small waiting area. I hopped up on the table, being on the smaller size, and swung my legs while waiting for whoever was next.
A doctor walked in and introduced herself as Dr. Malone - another tall and lithe woman. She sat down on a stool and asked me if I knew why I was here.
I just shurgged and said, " No really. I wasn't paying much attention. I only know that you've got to run some tests or whatever on me so they can figure out where to put me."
Dr. Malone laughed and replied, "No worries, I understand. We're actually going to be doing a few things. First we will draw a little blood to check your numbers and make sure you're healthy, then we'll have some tests for you to do. You'll go back and forth between human and wolf for those ok? Let me know if you get tired and need a break. We actually usually stream line this porcess - and handle all the first years on the same day - but your case is unique."
I rolled my eyes. "Of course. It is what it is," I replied, just wanting to get this over with.
The nurse came in and quickly drew the blood before doing all the normal doctor stuff- height, weight, blood preasure, etc. Then Dr. Malone returned and asked me about my first shift - what it was like and verified my age. "Ok," the doctor said, "I'm going to close the curtain and I want you to go ahead and shift. I'm going to time you so let me know when you start and come out when you're done." I quickly got undressed, placing my cothes on the table before calling out to the doctor. Less than a minute later I peaked my snout out from behind the curtain and actually startled the doctor. "That was fast, under a minute," Dr. Malone said, writing on the chart in her hands. "I'm going to open the curtain so we can get some measurements on you." I stepped aside gingerly, not liking the feel of cold tile under my paws. The doctor frowned at me and reached out to ruffle my fur. "You have very unusual coloring for a wolf and are a little on the small side. Has your wolf always b
Azalea He grabbed my hand and practically dragged me off the field towards the cafeteria. After a few moments of shock passed, I jerked my hand away from his, causing him to stop and glance back at me. "Firstly, I'm not 4, you don't have to hold my hand and second... thanks," I said, rolling my neck a little. "You can call me Az. My mom does." He laughed a little and replied, "Lead the way, Az." I started walking again and he fell in step with me. I could tell he was bursting with questions and as we opened the door to the cafeteria, I said, "Ask. I can tell. Just ask." He blushed a little, clearly embarassed. "You and your wolf are pretty bad ass for being kinda small. Where did your coloring come from? I've never seen a red wolf or a silver one, let alone one with both. I do dig the purple curls though," he said, tugging lightly on one. I laughed at him, swatting his hand away as we walked over to the counter where full sized sandwiches on french bread were laid out
Azalea After he left I decided to grab a shower and a nap. I was mentally and physically exhausted. I woke up hours later and realized it was well past dusk. I glanced at my phone and saw it was almost 9pm. I hoped they would still have dinner warm so I hurriedly threw on a hoodie over my tank top and capris and slid my feet into a pair of wedges before hurrying to the cafeteria. Tonight was Mexican, one of my favorites, and luckily it was still warm. i loaded up some to go containers and grabbed a soda before heading back to my room. There I grabbed a flashlight and a towel and headed back to the roof. I loved being up there at night as it was quiet and peaceful. I ate dinner and quietly sang along to my favorite tunes. I must have fallen asleep again at some point and woke up to the sun not quite creeping up the horizon. I checked the time on my phone - I still had plenty of time for breakfast and figured I'd see what the cafeteria had to offer. I went quickly back to
AzaleaI walked over to the cafeteria, checking the time on my phone. I realized I had a message and wondered who would be messaging me. It was from #1Brother and I laughed a little. He sent me a message that just said You got this with a thumbs up emoji. I sent him a smiley face back and walked into the cafeteria. I wasn't paying attention and bumped into another body. "Watch where you're going mutt," a rude, high pitched voice said before pushing me away. I stumbled back, mumbling a quick "I'm sorry" before looking up and seeing it was my sister."Stay away from me and mine or you'll regret it," She said, stomping off. She looked exactly like your typical high school prep girl - cute little polo shirt with short khaki shorts and bubble gum pink sneakers that matched her shirt. Ugh, I thought. Just what I needed. Like I wasn't already on the bitch list. There were more people in here today, with the new students that had completed their testing already around, as well as
Azalea Cora explained that we may get wierd looks now because usually they each stayed to their own floor and I just shrugged. "I don't really care. They're all staring at me anyways," I said as I pushed the door open to the dorms. Luckily the stairs were only a few doors down from my room and I could see the boxes waiting outside my room. We grabbed them and took them inside. We chatted away while I opened boxes and began puting things away. Cora loved my new shoe collection and we agreed to swap some books as we finished them. Then I offered to take Cora to my secret place. I gathered up the remaining boxes and had Cora grab some drinks from the fridge before we quietly made our way up to the roof. "Are you allowed up here?" Cora asked, stepping out gingerly. "Well it was unlocked and nobody has said anything all week about it. I don't like enclosed spaces a lot and up here is open and beautiful," I replied. I quickly put everything together and set out the 2 chairs
Azalea I turned and jogged over to the cafeteria, noticing that it was now packed, the volume raising way about a comfortable level. I spotted Cora and waved, heading over to her. "Let's eat outside at the picnic tables. It's too loud in here," Cora said. I nodded in agreement and we broke off to get our lunches. Malorie was right - I was starving. I loaded up my tray with 2 sandwiches, a salad loaded with my favorites, a rare steak, a fruit salad and a large piece of Chocolate cake. Then I grabbed 3 juices and a water before walking out of the cafeteria, looking around for Cora at the picnic tables. I spotted Cora's pink hair and headed over, finally placing down my heavy tray on the table. "Missed breakfast, huh?" Cora asked laughing at the amount of food on my tray. I laughed too. "Sorta. Plus food wasn't this consistent and definately not this good. And now with all these classes and stuff I just need the extra fuel." I ate, happily listening to Cora prattle on abou
John I sat just outside the main chambers waiting for them to call us in. Dr. Malone, and Greg, the Dean for the prep academy sat with me. We had to report what we had found with my daughter and her abilities now that we had caught her and tested her. I was a little nervous - I loved the girl even though she did her best to frustrate me at every turn. I couldn't necessarily blame her for that. She was unusual and predictable, which in our world was not usually good thing. But she was also smart, headstrong and determined and I suspected a true leader. "The High Council will see you now," the page said, opening the doors and ushering us in. We stood and together walked in. The High Council members sat in seats arranged in a semi circle around the room allowingthem a full view of the center. The High Council was made up of members from all of the different supes and were selected from the Elders of different packs and covens sent to represent their race. I had only been before
Azalea I woke at dawn again and went to meet my 2 teachers, once again walking through the same exercises as yesterday, getting through them quickly without me throwing things across the room. "Now we're going to switch it up today. I want you to think about your power and feel it connecting to the air around you," Clarissa said. "Good. Now feel how nice and warm it is. Ok. So cold air is just air moving at a slower speed right? So think about slowing the air around you down." I focused on her words, my eyes closed tight. I was thinking so hard and nothing was happening. They kept pushing me for what felt like hours and nothing was happening. Finally my frustration hit a breaking point and I yelled "Enough!" When my eyes popped open I could see the air literally frozen with both ladies looking at me thoughtfully. "Shit, sorry," I said and released the breath I was holding. When I did the air was released as well and began to return to normal quickly. "You have to lea
