I had outright refused to go onto pack lands and meet his people, so he had put me up at a hotel nearby. He had taken me shopping for a new wardrobe and all the things I would need for school as well as a few extras. I knew he was trying to make up for everything and I figured why not let him? I stopped by my room and grabbed my empty back pack so I could bring some things back with me from the snack bar. I had no idea what they would have, but I didn't want to have to keep going down when I was hungry or thirsty. I walked slowly to the cafeteria, which sat in the middle behind the main office and the auditorium. I was surprised when I walked in through the doors. Off to one side was coolers and coolers filled with all kinds of drinks and cold snacks - like pudding and yogurt and ice cream as well as fruits and vegetables. There was a huge rack next to them that contained other fruits and vegetables as well as what looked like fresh baked goods. There were also shelves stacked with single serve snacks like pop tarts and chips. On the other side was what looked like a full buffet. The nurse came in and quickly drew the blood before doing all the normal doctor stuff- height, weight, blood preasure, etc. Then Dr. Malone returned and asked me about my first shift - what it was like and verified my age. "Ok," the doctor said, "I'm going to close the curtain and I want you to go ahead and shift. I'm going to time you so let me know when you start and come out when you're done." Azalea After he left I decided to grab a shower and a nap. I was mentally and physically exhausted. I woke up hours later and realized it was well past dusk. I glanced at my phone and saw it was almost 9pm. I hoped they would still have dinner warm so I hurriedly threw on a hoodie over my tank top and capris and slid my feet into a pair of wedges before hurrying to the cafeteria.
