Azalea
So here I was, sitting in the SUV with my father, mere miles from the school. A few weeks had passed since he had caught me and taken me back to Texas. I had outright refused to go onto pack lands and meet his people, so he had put me up at a hotel nearby. He had taken me shopping for a new wardrobe and all the things I would need for school as well as a few extras. I knew he was trying to make up for everything and I figured why not let him? I hadn't had many new things or much of anything while we were on the run so it was a nice feeling. He had set me up with a bank account as well and would be putting monthly allowance deposits in it for me as long as I attended school as an extra incentive.
My father told me about 'our' family - I had an older brother who was training at the Alpha Academy near my school and a younger sister who was attending school with me - only two years behind me.
I told him about all the cities we had been to and all the things that we had gotten to do those years on the run. Lots of little towns and festivals - my mom did her best to make the most of it for us.
I was apprehensive about going here - honestly it sounded kind of like a snobby school for priviledged brats ans I knew I wasn't going to fit in. But I was going to do this and buy my freedom.
The mountains they were in were gorgeous - my wolf was so excited to able to run here. The school was well hidden, tucked back and magiked so the territory was safe. We finally pulled up to a gated area in front of what seemed like a giant parking lot right as dawn broke. Up ahead I could see the main building of the school towering above a huge courtyard.
They were a few other vehicles there which we parked next to. I sighed as I got out and went to get my bags.
"Leave them," my father said getting out of the other side of the SUV. "They'll bring them to your room," he said, gesturing towards the two pack members who had traveled with us. I turned and started walking silently beside him.
"You're here a few days early," he explained. "I wanted you to have time to settle in and learn the layout before having to start your classes. We're going to meet with the dean and get your schedule, then we'll go to your room. Tomorrow we'll do your aptitude tests and meet your teachers. After that you'll be on your own."
"I'm used to that," I replied drily and he flinched slightly. We walking in silence the rest of the way, my eyes taking in every detail of the school that I could see.
There were guards posted at the entrance that just nodded to him before letting us in. It seems he knew exactly where to go, leading me down the corridor and up the stairs until we came to a large set of double doors.
He held open the door and as I entered I saw a woman sitting behind a desk off to the side. Across from her was a sofa and two chairs. She gestured towards them and said, "Good morning. He'll be with you in a moment, if you'd like to have a seat."
There was another set of doors off to the left that I assumed led to the Dean's office. My father sat and pulled out his phone, answering what appeared to be several text messages and I stood there, stoic. Only a few minutes had passed before the other doors were thrown open with a jovial greeting.
"John, so good to see you. And this must be Azalea. Nice to meet you!" the man said. He wasn't what I was expecting. While his hair was silver like her father's, the rest of him did not show his age. He was tall and lean, but you could still tell there was a power behind his frame that his suit did not hide and caused me to take a step back. The smile on his face seemed genuine, even reaching his honey colored eyes and the small crows feet that showed he smiled often, but one could never be so sure. Even cruel people smiled.
That step back caused him to raise his eye brow at me then glance at my father who once again sighed. He turned and led us into his office and offered us a seat in a pair of luxurious leather seats situated in front of a large mahongany desk.
He sat and opened the file in front of him and verified my birthday before handing me a small packet.
"This has all the guidelines for the school - please make sure that you familiarize yourself with it."
He went on to talk to me about tomorrow and what we would be doing and how the school worked. The rest of the new students wouldn't be here until Thursday, two days from now, with the rest of the students arriving this weekend. Most of this I had already learned from my father.
He then gave me a map and a schedule and explained to me with an apologetic look that I would have a very full schedule in order to accomadate all that I'd need to learn.
I shrugged, "It's not like I'll have anything else to do."
He looked almost taken aback by my monotone rebuttal, but he continued on. I would begin my studies immediately so that my teachers could try and get me caught up. Next week there would be a big party for all the returning students and he hoped I would get to make friends here. I just stared at him for a few minutes, until he no longer smiled.
My father coughed and said, "Why don't we show you to your room and let you get settled in?"
"Great idea," the Dean said, standing up. He led us downstairs and out of the main building. I realized that the school was build almost exactly like a college, with a set of dorm rooms on either side of the school. There were several giant fields laid out with different equipment and beyond that just beautiful open forrest. I couldn't wait to let my wolf out and actually run and not worry about being seen.
As we walked to the door on the left, the dean babbled on about the different uildings and pointed over the mountain on the left. "Up high on that mountain is the Alpha Academy. Every future Alpha and Coven leader had to attend another 2 years of school there sometime before their 24th birthday, learning the ins and outs of running a pack/coven, running the businesses and all of the politics." I nodded, not really paying any attention until my father spoke up.
"You're brother is in his second year there. He'll arrive here tomorrow with your sister so you can meet them both."
I rolled my eyes and replied, "We'll see."
Logan It’s been a year now. To the day. Today is her official Luna ceremony and the whole council and all of our friends are here to watch and to celebrate with us. I won’t say it’s been easy, but it’s been worth it. To see the carefree way that she laughs and loves, different than before. It made me almost grateful that she didn’t remember everything and it’s been fun to make new memories with her. Seeing her finally walk down the aisle to me with her father by her side, both of them in tears, took my breath away. She was always beautiful, but today she was exceptionally stunning, stealing my very breath. Patching things up with her father again took longer than anything else. I hadn’t ever really talked much to her about her feelings towards him but he explained to me that she had told him she forgave him and that he needed to forgive himself the day before the war. And he struggled with it more this year as he tried to gain her forgiveness again.. But in the end I think he found
AzaleaI didn’t know where I was but where ever it was I felt safe. It wasn’t very bright a pale light illuminating a pathway in front of me. I felt something brush my hand and looked down to see my wolf beside me, her red fur shining and reflecting the little bit of light. How was she here with me? I thought as I ran my hands thru her soft fur, making her purr. I giggled. A wolf purring sounds kinda silly. She made a soft bark before bounding up the path away from me. I followed her quickly, not wanting to be away from her.It wasn’t long before I was in a clearing that was familiar to me. And in the middle, petting my wolf, was the moon goddess. “Am I dead?” I asked sadly as I approached the two. The moon goddess took my hand when I got close and gestured for me to sit, my wolf moving to put her head on my lap once I did.“Not yet my dear. You have a choice, you and your wolf. You did a good thing Azalea, but I know that it weighs heavy on your heart. You can choose, both of you to
LoganI watched as her eyes turned back into their silvery color and finally close. I could feel her breathing and I could still feel a very tiny spark inside of her so I knew she wasn’t gone, just very very drained. I picked her up and began walking back towards camp. I kept my eyes forward, the scene around us too horrific to even imagine. I heard several people loosing their stomachs around us.Behind me I heard Lucas tell some of the fae “bring the rain. We all need to ... rinse the day off.” I had just stepped into the forest when I felt the rain start again. My little mate made the rain turn to snow the first time and then after than I think the fae were too scared to do anything. People moved out of my way as I walked, some moving in fear others in reverence. I signed and knew that there would be a lot of questions once she woke.I could feel the rain washing down my mostly naked body and shifted Azalea to the other side so that the rain could wash off Arick... or what was left
AzaleaI drew my sword and ran for Arick, not making it far before a were jumped in front of me. I dispatched him quickly and looked around for Arick again. I saw the working tirelessly with their elements, a storm brewing above us. The rain would start any minute and while that would hinder the fire fae it would aid the others. I fought off another attacker, still looking for Arick.I was distracted and barely missed the claws aimed at my face. Luckily my mate, in his large black wolf form had grabbed onto the body that tried to attack me.Eyes open my love, he linked to me as he tore into the other were. I turned and got a glimpse of Arick fighting through my second line. I growled loudly, putting power into it, causing the air to vibrate with my anger. The twins were nearby, fighting beside a few of the second line witches and fae. I used my air to push aside bodies as I made my way after Arick. The smell of blood and burned flesh because almost nauseating before the sky spilt open
Azalea I came back my arms laden with snacks and drinks and we sat around quietly munching. Steve and my father were keeping an eye on Arick’s camp trying to keep an estimate of people still coming in. They were already up to 7000. Suddenly the door busted open and there in the doorway stood my twin protectors, my friends, my brothers. I jumped up and rushed over to them wrapping an arm around each of them, the others on my heels. They sandwiched me in a hug squeezing the breath out of me for a minute before letting me go to greet the others. Behind them was Corsica and Stanley and I greeted them as well. We all squeezed in the small area while they gave an update. The twins had escorted the fae to their pack lands and had a quick visit with their family before returning. I was glad they were back and I told them that we had extra beds in the head quarters. Once Steve updated everyone on the numbers -8000 people now - we decided to call it a night. Tomorrow was the big day. I actua
Taylor I spent a few hours with my pack, double checking gear, and doing warm ups with them to make sure we stayed fresh and ready to go. I wanted to have dinner with my sister so I headed back through the portal and began looking for her. I checked the hospital, the mess hall and head quarters before going to central ops. There I saw my father and Steve watching the monitors. I asked if they had seen her and they both nodded no. “I saw her last in the woods. That was a few hours ago. You might check there though,” my father said looking at me. “Alright. I’m going to find her and then go to dinner if you guys want to join,” I replied before walking out. I headed to the forest and began searching for her scent. I frowned when I didn’t smell anything until I remembered the potion. She ws probably still taking it for precautions. I began searching for signs and trying to listen hard for her breathing. Finally I picked up another heartbeat and followed it to my sister. She was asleep cra
