Chapter Thirty One

Sensing his tone, Sarah quickly reassures him, “it’s nothing serious, I promise. I just want to get some books and maybe movies. It would be cool if I had my phone here with me, it’s just so boring and lonely here and now, I can’t even go out when I want to, it’s kind of…tiring?” she ends her explanation with a question.

Jason is quiet for a while, Sarah takes a step forward closing the gap between them. She places her hand on his arm lightly, “Jace?” she prompts.

“You prefer it over there than you do here, don’t you?” he finally asks.

It’s Sarah’s turn to be quiet, then she starts to explain quietly.

“Do I miss my world? Don’t make that face,” she says when he starts to scowl again, “no matter what you say, it’s where I grew up, it’s the world I knew. It’s my world.” She stops and doesn’t continue until he finally nods to show that he understands her.
